Sandra thinned her lips mischievously.
Typical.
Her eyes darted between me and Damon before shifting to Nicki and Ryker.
"Soooo... what are you guys waiting for?" she teased.
I shook my head vigorously. "No. No. This is too much. I don’t think I can—"
"Daphne! Daphne! Daphne!" Sandra suddenly began chanting my name.
Ryker joined in almost immediately, his voice loud and playful. Nicki, who had been silent at first, hesitated before eventually joining in; probably just to avoid feeling out of place. I could tell she was hoping she'd be paired with Zach again.
I turned to Zach, and he gave me a tight smile, but I saw it; the look in his eyes. That same look I had when he was paired with Nicki earlier. A silent struggle.
Damon ran a hand through his hair before standing up.
