"Lips that Stole my Breath"

Emily's heart raced as she prepared for the evening ahead. She slipped into a stunning blue gown, the silk fabric hugging her curves perfectly. The dress shimmered in the candlelight, its delicate embroidery sparkling like diamonds. She felt like a princess, her hair styled in loose waves, her skin glowing with a soft radiance. As she descended the stairs, Marcus's eyes widened in awe. He offered her his arm, his fingers trembling slightly as he took hers. "You look...breathtaking," he whispered, his voice barely audible. Together, they walked through the forest, the moonlight casting a silver glow over the trees. The air was filled with the sweet scent of blooming wildflowers, and the sound of a gentle stream burbled in the distance. Ancient Den came into view, its ancient stones glowing with a soft, ethereal light. The structure was surrounded by towering trees, their branches twisted and gnarled with age. Vines and wildflowers wrapped themselves around the stones, as if nature itself was embracing the ancient site. A soft mist rose from the ground, giving the Den an otherworldly aura. Marcus led Emily through the entrance, his eyes fixed on hers. Inside, the Den was even more breathtaking. The walls were adorned with ancient carvings, depicting wolves, moons, and stars. The air was thick with history and magic. Marcus took Emily's hand, his fingers intertwining with hers. "I wanted to show you this place," he whispered, his voice filled with emotion. "It's where our pack has come for generations to find peace, and love. I wanted to share it with you, because...because I feel something special when I'm with you, Emily." Emily's heart fluttered, her mind racing with confusion. She couldn't deny the feelings she had for Marcus, but she was scared to accept them. She looked away, her eyes fixed on the ancient carvings. "Marcus, I...I don't know what to say," she whispered, her voice barely audible. Marcus's gaze never wavered, his eyes burning with intensity. He pulled her closer, his voice low and commanding. "You don't have to say anything, Emily. I know you feel it too. And I'm not going to let you deny it. You're mine, and I'm going to make you see that." Emily's heart raced, her pulse pounding in her neck. She felt a thrill of excitement mixed with a hint of fear. Marcus's alpha nature was on full display, and she couldn't help but be drawn to it. Marcus's eyes locked onto hers, his gaze burning with desire. Without warning, he leaned in, his lips crashing onto hers in a sudden, passionate kiss. Emily's heart skipped a beat, her mind reeling in surprise. She had never been kissed before, and the sensation was overwhelming. But as the kiss deepened, Emily's shock gave way to a spark of anger. She hadn't expected this, hadn't given permission. Her hands came up, pushing against Marcus's chest. He pulled back, his eyes gleaming with a hint of mischief. "What's wrong, Emily?" he asked, his voice low and husky. Emily's face flushed, her heart still racing. "You...you didn't ask me if I wanted to be kissed," she stammered, her voice barely audible. Marcus's smile grew wider, his eyes glinting with amusement. "I didn't need to ask," he said, his voice dripping with confidence. "I knew you felt the same spark I did." Emily's eyes narrowed, her anger rising. "You assumed wrong," she protested, her voice firm. "And even if I did feel something, that doesn't give you the right to kiss me without permission." Marcus's expression turned serious, his eyes locked onto hers. "I apologize if I overstepped," he said, his voice low and sincere. "But I couldn't help myself. I've been drawn to you since the moment I met you." Emily's eyes locked onto Marcus's, her voice gentle. "Marcus, how do you feel about this arranged wedding?" she asked, her heart pounding in her chest. Marcus's expression turned introspective, his eyes gazing into the distance. "To be honest, I wasn't okay with it at first," he admitted. "I felt like my parents were forcing me into something I didn't want. But I knew I had to do it for them, for our families' sake." He turned to her, his eyes burning with intensity. "But the moment I saw you, Emily, everything changed. I fell in love with you, hard. And now, I can't imagine spending my life with anyone else." Emily's expression remained neutral, her voice measured. "I see," she said, her tone neither encouraging nor discouraging. "So, you're saying you're willing to go through with the arranged marriage because you love me now?" Marcus nodded, his eyes never leaving hers. "Yes, Emily. I know it's fast, but I can't help how I feel. I want to spend the rest of my life making you happy." Emily's gaze lingered on his, her mind racing with doubts and uncertainty. She wasn't convinced, and she certainly wasn't ready to reciprocate his declarations of love. Not yet, at least. Just as she was about to respond, a menacing growl echoed through the den, making her heart race and her skin crawl. Marcus's eyes snapped towards the sound, his expression darkening into a snarl. "What was that?" Emily asked, her voice barely audible. Marcus's face was twisted in a fierce grimace. "It seems we have an uninvited guest. One who doesn't take kindly to our little encounter." Suddenly, a massive grey wolf emerged from the shadows, its eyes fixed on Emily with a hungry gleam. Marcus stood up, his body tense and ready to spring into action. "Stay behind me, Emily," he growled, his voice low and dangerous. But Emily couldn't move, couldn't speak. She was frozen in terror, her eyes locked on the wolf's razor-sharp claws and teeth. And then, everything went black. To be continued...
