Eva
As I overheard my mother and Jasper secretly planning against me it solidified what I needed to do. I had another avenue I could take and planned to once I returned to school. It was not I that needed fixing. While yes, my mother had been through many of the dark experiences I had there were some she did not know about.
There was a reason I hated school. There was a reason I needed to bring forth the darkness. All those who harmed me or those I loved did not deserve to live a life without the repercussions and what better way than to fill their heart with despair, to feel as I did.
That being said, hearing Jasper’s concerns worried me. I needed his help but in order to gain it I would have to come completely clean about my past, something I never thought I would do.
A knock on my door pulled me from my train of thought.
“Baby, can I come in?” Jasper asked.
“Sure,” I replied.
As he entered my bedroom the smell of his cologne overtook my senses. My previous anger subsided almost instantly as I took in the stunning man that was fated to me. A few dark curls swept across his forehead while his hazel eyes drank me in. He was 6’5”, about a foot taller than I with a broad frame and sun kissed skin. He was perfect. I had to snap out of it. I closed my eyes, shaking my head hoping to rid my mind of the ideas that came flooding through but when I opened them I found Jasper smirking, standing directly in front of me.
“I am glad you still are there with me despite everything,” he said while chuckling.
“Of course I am you i***t. Damn these fated feelings,” I frustratingly replied.
“As much as I would love to pick up where we left off last night, we need to talk E.”
“I know but I think it is I who needs to talk to you. There are things you don't understand right now."
“Okay… what is going on?” Jasper asked me tentatively.
I needed him next to me for this. While I had never purposefully revealed my wings, there was more.
I grew up with my best friend Gabby. We had an extremely close bond. Even prior to receiving my wings she and I had the ability to communicate telepathically. Her mother was also an angel and best friends with our mother. Because of that, we spent allot of our childhood together. She was beautiful with stunning long, straight red hair, pale skin lightly dusted with freckles and green eyes, the color of emeralds. She was flawless and everyone saw it.
A few months into our sophomore year I noticed Gabby would become jealous if I hung out with other girls or when I went on dates. She wanted to be with me constantly. At first I believed she was worried I would find someone to replace her which I knew was impossible. She was my sister even if we were not related by blood. It was not until one afternoon after the last bell rang at school I learned the truth.
We were sitting at the picnic tables by the cafeteria working on homework when I caught her staring at me.
“Geeze Gabby, what are you looking at weirdo? I know I am gorgeous but you see me more than anyone else. Stop staring! Do I have something on my face?” I joked, expecting her to laugh along.
When he face became solemn I knew something was going on. Looking away she spoke to me telepathically.
'Eva, I need to tell you something. You have to swear on everything you love that you will not repeat this. I will tell people when I am ready.'
'It is me Gabby. You know I would not say anything. Now, spill!' I replied through our link.
'I am pregnant,' were the next words to enter my mind.
I could not hold back my confusion and shock. Looking at her I spoke out loud, “What?! Who? When? What are you going to do?” I couldn't keep my words together.
'Shut up! There's people still around! I will tell you like this but you need to keep your mouth shut! After I say, you cannot do anything stupid! I will handle this. You know how I was having a hard time with history and Mr. Jacob’s gave me extra credit?' she asked.
'Umm, yeah. Oh my God! Is that why he has not been at school?' I questioned, worried where this was going.
'It is not what you think. Mr. Jacob’s also offered to tutor me. That is where I was after school. He had me go to his home to help me with my extra credit paper but that is it so get that thought out of your head!
One day about two months ago I got to his home before he did. I had no clue he had a son. His name is Alex and he is a fallen angel but a dark one. I arrived to his house and was greeted by his son. Thankfully that first day Mr. Jacob’s arrived home moments later and told Alex to leave. I did not know why at the time. That happened every day for about a week until Mr. Jacob’s did not come home. While waiting I suddenly felt an arm wrap around my neck before I passed out. I do not know how late it was when I came to but I was naked in a bed and Alex was nude lying next to me. When I tried to get up I realized my hand was tied to the bed post. Alex woke up as I started to cry. He rolled on top of me putting his hands over my mouth telling me if I ever said anything he would kill my family and I. As he finished his threat I heard Mr. Jacobs come in the front door and start screaming for his son and I. Frantically Alex put his clothes on before throwing my dress at me, untying my hand and reiterating what he would do if I said what actually happened. While getting dressed I heard Alex and his dad screaming at each other. Alex was saying I was just a w***e and begged for it but Mr. Jacob’s did not believe him. I overheard him saying that Alex has a history of this behavior and he could not believe he did it again before saying he would call the police. Suddenly there was a loud bang. Like a coward I left the house through the back door and we have not seen Mr. Jacob’s since. Alex has been here almost every day and I am terrified.'
As Gabby finished telling me of her traumatic experience tears filled her eyes. Holding her stomach she looked to me and spoke out loud, “What do I do?”
“I see you couldn't keep your mouth shut. I told you what would happen. Of course you had to tell this one with the powerful parents. That's alright. I can get rid of her first before she tells mommy and daddy,” Alex spoke menacingly as he walked out the cafeteria doors.
Unfortunately for him he had no idea how powerful I was. I opened my wings. By this time the school had emptied. Hearing Gabby gasp beside me, I turned telling her to run before pushing forth a tremendous amount of power towards Alex. He went flying backwards hitting his head against the brick wall of the school, knocking him unconscious. Immediately, I grabbed him. It was January and freezing. Barely able to lift his weight I flew to the frozen lake near our homes. Before I made it, he came to. The man begged for his life while trying to release my grip but I was too strong. I let go and watched as he broke through the ice followed by a splash of red. There was no way he survived or so I thought.
After that day Gabby avoided me. I tried approaching her a number of times but she ignored me. She blocked our link. Soon after a group of our mutual friends began verbally attacking me at school. None dared to touch me. I do not know what Gabby said but whatever it was it made these girls both hate and fear me. Soon after, Gabby stopped coming to school and i noticed that a scarred version of her attacker began watching me from the parking lot on numerous occasions. I went to her house a few times but her mom, Jess, said that Gabby was visiting her aunt.
As I finished explaining this to Jasper he stood up.
“What are you doing?” I asked.
“Eva, you need to tell our parents. This is crossing into a whole new territory including two possible murders, one you committed. I understand he deserved it but it does not change the facts. Not to mention Gabby. I wondered where she went. You do realize her aunt is our aunt being that our fathers are cousins. Have you tried to see if she is actually there? I'm not the only warlock and I don't see her parents sending her off even if she was pregnant. They might believe it but not because they chose to. We need help Eva.” He urgently replied.
“Stop! I need your help, not my parents. This was just the cherry on top when it comes to my life. I have seen Alex. I did not murder anyone, unfortunately. He should not be here but that being said, since he is a dark angel I can use him then turn the tables giving him exactly what he deserves. I am already working on finding Gabby and yes, I agree her parents likely have no idea where she is. I am going to get Alex to talk. Give me a week. If you do not agree by then you can do what you want,” I assured while crossing my fingers behind my back.
