After Ty went downstairs, Megan let go of the breath she didn't realize she was holding. She slowly fixed herself and got up and decided to shower once again. Ty was her husband but she felt so dirty. Ty made her feel like a w***e and honestly, she didn't like it.
But she knows that if Ty tries and take her, she would have no choice and give in. Not because he demands it, but because she knows that she loves him and even though it makes her feel dirty, she would give Ty whatever he wants. she just hopes that her ego can take it all in.
After her shower, she started to fix their things. She wanted to keep herself busy so she didn't dwell on what happened. But as she did all the small chores, she allowed her mind to wander, going back to where it all began.
She remembered seeing Ty for the first time in the cover of the Business magazine, how handsome and dashing he was at that cover. Although, during that time she thought to herself that it may have been the power of photoshop that allowed him such a magnificent aura. Seeing him at a party though proved her wrong. He was as handsome and as dashing as he was on the magazine as he was in person. He also had this air of authority about him, that when he talks everyone tends to listen. She was introduced to him that night. She just started college then. She was naïve, innocent and shy.
Her dad had called her to their side and said, "Baby doll, I'd like you to meet, Mr. Tyrone Campbell, he owns the TFC Group of Companies." Ty shook her hand just like a businessman would a business partner. He was all serious and gave only a hint of a smile. But up close like that, he looked stunning, and she must admit that, that was the moment she fell in love with him. 'Love at first close sight.' She had to smile at that.
She thought that it was a teenage crush, puppy love even, but as she grew older, she got to know him from afar. Only meeting him from time to time, whenever she was on vacation or went to see her dad for some occasion. Ty would usually be around, but completely ignores her. She was literally non-existent to him until the day Dad told him they were to marry. Ty was becoming more and more powerful as he continued to grow his business. She on the other hand continued studying and getting groomed to replace her dad in their own company.
She was surprised when after graduating from Business School, and beginning her work at their company, her dad called her to his study and talked with her regarding marrying Tyrone Campbell.
"Baby doll, I want you to marry Tyrone," her dad had started.
"What?!"
"You and him will be a good match," he continued. "I want you to think about it, Megan." he said. "Tyrone is a very savvy businessman, he can help you with the company. Assist you in running it."
"Dad," Meg started. "He has his own business!"
"I know," he said. "And that's the beauty of it. He already knows his way around. And if you marry him, you know that he won't be a competition and you can support each others business."'
"Dad...."
"Just think about it baby doll," he cooed. " He's not bad looking, he's rich, richer than us, so you know he won't be after your money."
She was shocked, she thought that her dad found out her 'feelings' for him. Turns out though, that her dad had been planning the union from the beginning, at the party he hosted for Ty that many years ago. Her love for Ty was not what drove her dad to request the marriage. He wanted someone as good, no, as great as Ty to be with Megan so that when she finally takes over the company, she will have a formidable ally in the form of Ty at her side. It was really all business with Dad. Her falling in love with him was an added bonus. Well for Ty at least, he'll have a beautiful wife who loved him but the feeling isn't exactly reciprocated.
Meg was an enigma for sure. She was known to be party girl and often looks like she's the dumbest person in the room. Aside from her closest friends and family, no one realizes that she has a good head above her neck. She inherited her father's keen business sense and she has an eye for what will be successful.
She is well disciplined, eating right and exercising every other day to keep her body tight. People thought that her body was purely genes, but truth to tell, that was only part of it, she worked hard to ensure that she looks good but making it seems like it was of no effort. Yes she was already naturally beautiful but discipline and effort made her look stunning. She was shy yet confident, so it was hard to read her.
Ty thought her to be a party animal, one that hops from one boy to another, well everybody seemed to think so and she didn't care, as long as she knows the truth. It may also be one of the reason's why he didn't like Megan. He thought of her as someone wasting her life and her dad's money in useless partying. He was shocked to find out that she was a virgin. It was partly a wonder looking at his shocked face the previous night.
"Good for you," she thought. "A little something to think about later."
When she ran out of things to do in the bedroom. She knew it was time to face the music. She half hoped that Ty would have left the house so she can be free to explore her new house on her own. She previously lived in a condo her dad bought for her when she was in college. So the big house was something she wasn't used to.
"Well, now I have to, don't I" she thought to herself.
She took a deep breath and went downstairs to try and acquaint herself with the house. She saw Nana coming out of Ty's office at the bottom of the stairs. When Nana, saw her she immediately went up to meet her.
"Good afternoon madame," Nana greeted her.
"Good afternoon, Nana," she responded politely and added, "please, call me Meg, no need for formalities."
Nana nodded and smiled at her. "Meg it is."
"Would you like something to eat?" she added. "It would seem that your husband, will not be able to join you," she continued. "He asked not to be disturbed."
"Oh," Meg said. "Might be some business."
"Yes, probably," Nana agreed.
"So let's get to know each other then, Meg, shall we?" Nana said smiling, trying to lighten the mood.
"Okay," Meg said as she followed Nana to the dining hall.
Upon reaching the dining hall, Nana motioned for Meg to sit down to the right of the rectangular dining table. "Sit here," she told her. "I will call the staff."
Meg nodded and sat where Nana told her to.
Nana called the staff of the house and they all lined up in front of Megan.
"Hello," Megan greeted them.
"Good afternoon, madame," they greeted her as well.
"Okay," Nana started, "this is Gretel, the cook. Chanda and Silva are in charge of cleaning the whole house, Leonel, our errand boy. Philip, your driver and Heidi, your maid servant," Nana continued, pointing to each one as she mentions their names and position.
"Maid servant?" Megan asked.
"Yes," Nana replied. "She will help you with everything you need, she will assist you. She will take care of your clothes and toiletries. She is like your live-in personal assistant."
"I don't think I need an assistant," Megan protested.
"Nevertheless," Nana said. "She will be your assistant." she persisted.
"Ty ordered an assistant be assigned to you, and so she will be."
"But..." Megan wanted to continue arguing.
"Tsk, task is done," Nana said. "Moving on. Whatever you need, you can call her and she will assist you. Personal and office work. And Philip here is your driver, he will drive your wherever you need to go."
Megan, unsure of what to do, just nodded her head.
"Okay," Nana said. "Let's go on. Greta is the cook of the household. Do you have any preference as to the food she should prepare?" Nana asked her. "Or if you have food allergies, she should know about."
"Ahm, no, no allergies." she said. "And I basically eat what is on the table."
Greta smiled and said, "Okay, ma'am. But if you want anything cooked for the day, just let me know.
"Okay." she answered.
"Now, Chanda and Silva cleans the whole house," Nana said. "If you want to have some space private to yourself or you want to clean yourself. You just let them know and they won't invade your privacy. Any room you deem private, will be kept as such." the two nodded their heads.
"Okay, no worries." Megan began. "I am yet to acquaint myself with the house and I am not sure yet what I will do." she continued. "So as for now, nothing is off limits. I will let you know once I settled in and find out more."
"Okay, Madame," they answered in unison.
"Thank you," she told them. She smiled. "For now, I want to look around the house alone. I will call if I need any help. She got up and left the household staff and started exploring the house.
