Nerve’s
I step onto the icy platform beneath me, my skate settle’s on the freezed liquid beneath me, I let out a shaky breath as I plug my earphone’s in, playing the song ‘Ava by Famy’.
I pull my leg warmer’s up further before my feet start to glide across the ice, the wind hit’s my face from the coldness of the rink.
Skating is like a drug, except it’s not bad necessarily bad for you. It make’s me feel alive, it’s always been apart of me, even growing up I had dreams to be a figure skater, and the past few years I’ve worked up to the point where little me would be extremely proud.
I take pride in knowing I’ve made younger me happy, knowing I chased my dreams further than she would have imagined.
In that exact moment, Dominic and his stupid little teammates walk in, hockey sticks in hand.
“Well look who it is!” said Dominic, his voice dripping with disgust.
I skate to the exit of the rink, stepping swiftly onto the solid ground. “Do you have to be such a nuisance?” I reply simply, already bored of the conversation.
He hits his heart with an open palm sarcastically, “Ah, you hurt me with those words.” He muttered.
I remove my skates, sliding the cover over them as I completely ignore Dominic as he and his friend’s make comment’s about me.
I pull my trainer’s on before brushing past him, stopping right next to him. “You’re not the one who should be talking, I’m not the one dropping my relationships every other week unlike some of us.” I smile halfheartedly before turning and walking away, ignoring whatever reply he had to give.
And that’s how most days go.
I walk out of the building, walking towards my car when my phone rings. I sigh, rummaging around in my bag to find it.
When I finally do get my hands on it, I look at the caller ID, when I see that it’s Aimee I pick up the call.
“Hi, Aims.” I greet, a smile making its way to my lips.
Aimes say’s hello over the other line, using the nickname 'Cass' that she had given me, short for my full name, Cassity.
"What's up?" I asked, wondering what she could possibly want, seeing as I was supposed to be on the ice after all and Dominic had cut my time short.
She replied, her tone pleading over the phone, "I'm going to the club at 6, and desperately need someone to go with me. Will you come with me?"
As I checked the time and saw that it was only 4 pm, I sighed, thinking about it for a second before relenting.
"Sure," I muttered, the word earning a squeal from her.
"I'll see you later!" She yelled into the phone with excitement.
"Bye, Aims!" I replied, giggling a little.
I opened my car door and slid inside, turning on the heating and getting comfortable.
I shift the car into gear, speeding out of the parking lot and driving home.

I get out of my car, picking up my bag from the passenger seat and closing the door behind me, I walk into the apartment building, giving a nod to the receptionist as I pass.
I get to my door, pulling the key’s out of my bag and sticking it into the lock, twisting it until it opens.
I step inside, tossing my bag on the floor somewhere as I walk to my room, opening my closet door.
I look through each dress carefully until I find one particular dress, it’s a white dress, short and slit on the side that reveals the hip.
That’s the one.
I hold it up, picking up a matching pair of heel’s to go with it.
I slide into the dress then slip on the heels, I turn around, looking in the mirror carefully, taking in my appearance.
My phone ring’s again, I pick it up seeing it’s Aimee yet again.
“Are you ready? It’s twenty to six.” She asks, annoyance in her tone. “Yeah, I’m ready.” I reply, raising an eyebrow at her eagerness but stop when I realize she can’t see me.
“Good, cause I’m outside.” She murmurs and I can tell by the way she said it she’s smiling.
“Be out in two.” I say, grabbing a purse with all my belongings inside before rushing out of the apartment, locking the door behind me.
