Chapter 1
When my dad got me this job, he said it would be easy and that, for a first job, it would be a great start. He was right, at the beginning, it was easy, I took care of Mr. Jordan's meetings, had his coffee and his meals always ready, he was happy with how well I was doing. It was a shock when he announced that he would transfer me to the other CEO since he was retiring. Mr. Jordan's son, the other CEO, had never stepped into the office so far, he was working overseas, and now, as his father was set on retiring to enjoy life with his brand new wife, he was coming back to New York. And he was not happy about it, as I was still going to find out. It was Friday afternoon, a hectic one, I didn't even have lunch yet, because calls, messages, and furniture organization were making me run back and forth from Mr. Jordan's room. He would arrive in a week, so every businessman in the city was trying to be added into his schedule, Pamery was growing over other marketing agencies since the son, Joe, started working here. I was organizing the paperwork into the drawers, all sweaty from the box-moving, book organizing, and the heavy table-pushing, when I heard a knock on the door. I raised my head and turned around, praying that my underwear didn't show under my skirt. I should have just walked around it. Blue eyes and a raised eyebrow. I froze. It was Joe S. Jordan, my boss. The new one. One week earlier. Staring at a mess of a secretary, and worst a mess of a room. "Mr. Jordan, hi. I'm Sarah Bitellin, your secretary..." I didn't really know what to do, what I really wanted to say was: whatahell are you doing here a week earlier, you damn gorgeous being. "I'm sorry, did I make a mistake? I was sure you were only coming next week..." He walked into the room looking around, unbuttoned his coat, and looked at me calmly, analyzing me in a way that sent shivers down my spine. "Miss Bitellin, it was not your mistake, I think I was the one who forgot to tell you that officially I'm only here next week, but I wanted to come earlier and organize my office. You beat me to it, although this is not really your job." "I wanted to have it all organized before the partners start sending you updates and stuff. They've been asking me a lot what kind of wine and things you like, so, it will soon be packed with a new mess" I blushed, as he didn't move his eyes from mine. Was he trying to kill me from dehydration? "My father sure said you were efficient, I thought he was trying to sleep with you just like he did with his last secretary," I think I looked at him like that Pikachu meme because he laughed a little. "Sorry, but every time he compliments a woman too much, I just assume, please don't be offended, your brother said you're a kind of sensitive to this kind of subject" "My brother what?" He smiled, like a full honest beautiful smile, and then the whole room was flooding with my drooling over him. "Did your brother tell you that we are friends?" I just shook my head. "I see. I was Jonathan's classmate." He walked closer, still smiling, still looking into my eyes without giving me time to breathe. "I won't delay your work anymore, I'm gonna get this box and organize it, Miss Bitellin." He grabbed the box and sat by the sofa, now paying full attention to it. It was a little hard to move, I think it took me a whole minute before I started moving. Having him there was suffocating, distracting, but great. He worked fast, different from me, he knew what was in each box and folder, so it took him half the time to do all the filling and organizing. We finished way sooner than I expected. I looked at the pilled empty boxes near the door and thanked the heavens that he decided to come to do this. I would be here for at least one more day all by myself. I ran to my desk to pick up another call, and when I raised my head, he was standing there, staring at my notes. "What do you need, Mr. Jordan?" When he looked at me like that, it always took me a few seconds to be able to say something. I couldn't really explain it, but it was intense, and it was wrong of me to have a crush on him, but that ship was already in high sea. "I think we both need some food, don't you think? I noticed you didn't sign your lunch break..." He wasn't happy, his mouth was now a straight line, and the chills from that look got me both aroused and scared. I was used to his father, who was always smiling and always ok with whatever I did. That was new. "Oh, yes, I forgot. With all the phone calls, it slipped my mind. I'm sorry." I felt like a schoolgirl caught misbehaving. "Well, sign out. We're leaving." He turned around to get his coat. The phone rang again. "Don't you dare pick up this call! You've done enough for today." "So bossy..." I mumbled while signing out and turning off my computer. He had a private elevator, which I was using without consent, and now I would have to go back into using the general elevator. I cried inside. They were always full of people, and the 3rd-floor pervert seemed to always know when I would be there. I turned in the direction of the corridor, saying goodbye. "No, you're coming with me. As I failed to tell you about arriving today, I also forgot to tell you that there's a dinner today. Jonnie will be there too." My boss called my brother Jonnie?! When he said they were friends, I didn't think they were actually friends. "Mr. Jordan, I can't go to a dinner like this." He ran his eyes all over my body. Chills, again! "I'm sure you can tell me where it is, and then I can go there after I go home and shower." "Oh, of course, I apologize. I will text you the address. Also, I know that you have been using my elevator, Miss Bitellin, and I'm glad to share it with you. Come on." He held the door open, so I quickly went with him, thanking him awkwardly. What a weird day. I massaged my body under the shower. How come my brother never told me he had a friend this hot. The man is a hurricane, and he could ruin me any day. I laughed at myself. Like I would ever do anything improper. Even my family teased me on being way too 'goody'. I like things done right, and I also like things proper and pretty, even though I'm not as good to keep them well as everyone seems to think. Mostly because I have to deal with what really goes inside my mind, and it is all dirty. After a long shower, in which I took my time appreciating everything I thought my boss should appreciate in me, I got to his family's house. I had been there before, it was a whole block for a house, there was a pool, and who-know what other activities happened around the land. I did not have enough time to explore it. I loved every minute of walking around, running after my previous boss, and taking notes on the meeting he had there with a bunch of gentlemen. He was celebrating his retirement. Huge deals were closed that day. Apparently, I was the only Bitellin who did not know of this dinner before. I found my parents and my brother drinking with the Jordans and the Pierces (they were all close college friends, they met constantly. Usually without the whole families because they loved going places their wives hated). My mother took a look at the red dress I was wearing and whispered in my ear while hugging me "Are you here to seduce someone? You're gonna give you dear old dad a heart attack showing your breasts like that." Which, I promise, was an overreaction! Yes, my dress was a little sexy, but seductress just, pretty-girl-feeling-good-about-herself-after-an-orgasm-induced-by-imagining-her-boss-naked. Except for my brother, who just said "Looking good, sis" when I sat by his side, no one else commented on the dress, although I think I saw my boss looking at me a little longer when my brother was talking to someone else. The conversation was light, fun, they toasted to Mr. Jordan's arrival and complained about the friends who couldn't come tonight. I found out why had I no memories of meeting Joe (he insisted on me calling by his name out of the office), and that is because he lived most of his life with his mother. I sat between Joe and my brother for dinner, as his dad ordered, so they wouldn't be whispering the whole dinner. Of course, that gave me the chance to talk to my brother. "You didn't say my new boss was a friend of yours!" I accused him while stealing a strawberry from his plate. "What are you talking about? You knew this!" His voice sounded shocked, but we both knew it was for the food-stealing. "Of course not, I have never met him!" "Actually, we have met before." Joe was inclined in my direction just like I was inclined to my brother's. "What?" I looked at him, my eyes wide, and my memory screaming I CANNOT FIND THIS ARCHIVE! PLEASE TRY ANOTHER KEY!!!
