CHAPTER SIX Later in the day, Sarah worked beside Raif in the kitchen, wiping the table after clearing the lunch dishes. He had offered to make sandwiches again, this time peanut butter and jelly. She hadn't had one of those in at least twenty years and found it quite tasty. A silent truce was forged between them for the moment. A blanket of peace and contentment lay over her; she didn't care if it was real or imagined. There was something so domestic about their working together that eased a part of her that was always in a state of turmoil. As for the kiss, she was determined to pretend it hadn't happened.
