CHAPTER SEVEN After driving to Hiawatha with the boys, Raif pulled up in front of Alice and Mark's new model home. Unlike the older houses and farms decorating the scenery along the thirty-odd mile trip over, the homes here were newer, closer together. Raif didn't regret leaving New York to come back to his hometown for one instant—the quiet solitude of the land around his place never ceased to bring him pleasure.
