A good Saturday

CHAPTER 1
(Izzie's POV)
Saturday morning...
I woke up to the blaring sound coming from the nightstand... I turned and saw that it was my damn phone. "Who the hell is calling me at this hour?" I muttered.
Still half asleep, I picked up the phone and swiped, not bothering to look at the caller. Raising the phone to my ear, I heard the voice from the other end... "Hello, this is the manager of Brooks restaurant. May I speak with Miss Miller please?". My eyes flew wildly as I sprung out of bed.
This was the call I have been waiting for the past two weeks. I honestly thought they weren't going to call. But here they are... "Speaking." I said as I clenched my fist and held my breath.
" Miss Miller, I am pleased to inform you that you have gotten the job at Brooks restaurant. "You start on Monday". I got the job?... I got the freaking job!!!. "Thank you, thank you," I said, trying to sound calm, but you could easily hear the excitement in my voice. " Of course, Miss Miller, I hope to see you on Monday," he said as he ended the call..." Me too" I yelled knowing that he has ended the call.
I tossed my phone onto the bed and burst into a dance, hoping all over the room. I was booming with happiness that needed to be shared. " I have to tell dad this good news," I said as I ran out of my room. His room was just next to mine, since the house wasn't very big--just a two-bedroom apartment with a small cozy living room, one bathroom and a small kitchen, but it was perfect for me and my dad.
We decided to sell our old house and moved here two years ago, right after I graduated. Even though it was hard letting the old house go because it was filled with memories of mom, but the circumstances were not in our favor.
I pushed open dad's door, and as my eyes swept the place--I realized he wasn't there. "Where did he go?... "Dad!" I called out, leaving the room and walked towards the entrance as my eyes scanned the places, then it hit me-- it was the weekend, he was probably in the garage.
"I'll tell him later then" I said as I headed back to my room. Just as I stepped into the room, my phone was already ringing..." Today sure is a good day", I giggled and picked up the phone. " Sophia". It was Sophie, my best friend. I swiped the call as I lifted the phone to my ear. " Xup girl", her voice came through. " Hey, what's up? Calling at this hour?" I asked in a confused tone.
"What's that supposed to mean? Can't I call my best friend anytime?" She chirped. Sophie has always been a bit of a troublemaker. We've known each other since my sophomore year of high school, and if there's one thing I can say about her, it's that she's truly one of a kind. She's always carried herself to be carefree, nonchalant--but beneath that laid-back exterior is one of the kindest and sweetest souls you'll ever meet.
Her family wasn't extravagantly wealthy, but they were well-off enough to take care of her and her brother. Still, she remains incredibly modest. We graduated together, and when I couldn't go to college due to financial reasons, she chose to stay behind also--even though I begged her not to, but this is Sophie. Once she's made up her mind, there's no going back. That's just the kind of person she is. Honestly, she's the best friend anyone could ever ask for.
"Of course not, I'm just saying, it is so unlike you to call this early, given that you practically sleep till noon on a weekend" I said teasingly. " Whatever, I actually wanted to tell you something, but since you don't want to hear it, it's fine" she muttered lightly as a whisper trying to sound hurt, but I know her too well. " Gosh! You are such a dramatic girl, right! "I also have something to share," I said as my mind went back to the call from earlier... I giggled with excitement. " Guess what'
" What" she voiced calmly. " I got the job," I answered with a curved smile on my face. Sophie screamed so loudly that I had to pull the phone away from my ear. " That's great news girl, we should celebrate," she said, fully excited. I laughed at her silliness, then remembered she also had something to share. "What was it that you wanted to tell me?" I asked.
"Oh that, it's nothing." ..." What's that supposed to mean?" I raised an eyebrow, not that she could see me or anything.
" Girl, forget that, I'm heading over right now. "We have to celebrate yahhh" she said, ending the call and leaving me hanging on the other side. I smiled at her cheeky act and dropped my phone on the bed, then I got up to start my day afresh as I heard my dad's voice coming from the living room.
Dad!!!....
