He Called Me Wife. Disaster Engagement Series Book 5
POV Mick
It was the morning of the wedding and I had tried on at least five different ties trying to decide what I was going to wear. I stood in front of the mirror and stared at myself. I messed about with my hair for the third time in ten minutes because I was really nervous, but I had to try and calm down. My brother James came up behind me “wear that one Mick, you look really handsome” I gave him a look in the mirror “you would say I look handsome I’m your twin” he just laughed “yeah, but I’m better looking, you seem really nervous” I took a deep breath “wouldn’t you be?” I asked and he nodded his head in agreement. “yeah, I’m kind of nervous too. Lets have a whiskey to steady the nerves” I desperately needed a drink but I wanted to get rid of him. I just needed a few minutes on my own to sort myself out “I’m going to have a drink can you go down and see everyone” he put his hand on my shoulder “are you sure you want to be alone?” I took a deep breath “Yeah, I just need a few minutes to pull myself together” sometimes I loved that he knew me better than anyone else, but in that moment I really needed him to leave me alone so I could collect my thoughts. He knew that when I was nervous I had to get over it in my own way. “see you down there Mick” he gave me a little smile “see you down there” when he left I poured myself a drink and sat on the chair in the corner of my hotel room looking out over the grounds. There was loads of people outside rushing around with flowers and wedding stuff. I sipped my drink and thought about the first day I had met my little sweetheart. I was only 26 and I was a struggling actor. I was working two jobs and I had a small part in a play. I was going to catch the bus to work one afternoon when I realised there was an accident on the road and I had to go and get the tube. I rushed down and made it onto the carriage just in time and I sat down. I looked around and it wasn’t as busy as usual and that’s when I spotted her. She was sitting across from me and she was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen in my whole life. She was reading a book and I couldn’t take my eyes off her. She was tanned with long dark hair and full red lips. Her long eyelashes were down as she read her book. I shifted in my seat. This girl was incredible, I looked around and there was an old drunk woman half asleep and an older guy in a suit looking at me, he gave me a huge smile, he leaned in and whispered “she’s beautiful isn’t she?” I looked back at her with my mouth wide open “God, your not wrong mate” we both laughed and turned back and stared at her, he waved to get my attention “you should see her body” it was winter and she was wearing a huge coat “I think she must be a glamour model” he said “holy s**t shes f*****g beautiful” I couldn’t keep my eyes off her. “she’s been getting this same train every day for months, she certainly brightens up my day” the train pulled up and the guy in the suit said “This is her stop” just then she stood up and got off the train. I watched her walk past my window. I looked at the guy, “she’s something else” I said. He let out a chuckle “I’ll see you tomorrow then mate.I’m Gerry by the way” “I’m Mick” was all I could say because I was Mesmerised by her. The next day was my day off but I got up and got dressed, I got my hair cut and put on my best jacket, I ran down to the underground and she was standing on the platform, I was glad I hadn’t missed her. She was wearing a short leather jacket with a huge red scarf and tight jeans. That guy Gerry wasn’t kidding her arse was incredible. I was drooling at the sight of her. When the train arrived she stepped on and took the same seat that she had sat in the day before. I couldn’t take my eyes off her. I was entranced by her movements. She took out her book and started to read, her eyebrows were down as if she was concentrating and it was really cute. Then she started to bite her bottom lip and it was such a turn on. I looked at the front cover of her book and it had Italian writing on it. Then Gerry came through from the other carriage and he gave me a smile and sat down next to me. She took off her scarf and I gasped out of shock, she had the most perfect enormous t**s, Gerry gave me a look like I told you so, then he elbowed me “You should speak to her and ask her out. I’ve never seen her speak to anyone before. if I was 20 years younger I would be all over her” he said with a chuckle. I turned my attention back to her “I’m not sure, she’s totally out of my league. There’s no way she would give me a second look” he shook his head “just go for it. What do you have to lose?” I took a deep breath “yeah you’re right. I’m going to speak to her.” Then I turned to him “but I think she’s Italian, I hope she can speak English” “you might be right actually because we were talking about her yesterday and we’re talking pretty loud right now and she isn’t batting an eye lash. Maybe she can’t understand us” we both looked over at her as she turned the page of her book. She had the most perfect hands. Everything about her was exceptional. “She must have a boyfriend, how can a girl like that not have a boyfriend?” he shrugged his shoulders “well I’ve never seen her with anyone before. And if she was my girlfriend I wouldn’t let her out of my sight for a minute” he was right there was only one way to find out. I took another deep breath to steady my nerves. “s**t, well, I’m going over. wish me luck mate” I stood up and went towards her “hi” I said and she lifted her eyes to meet mine she was the most gorgeous creature I had ever seen. She didn’t say anything I gestured to her book “which part of Italy are you from?” I asked, she gave me a confused look then she took out her earbuds that I didn’t notice before. “I’m sorry I didn’t realize you were listening to music, I was just asking where in Italy are you from?” She put her eyebrows down and said “Glasgow pal” in a Scottish accent and let out a little laugh “why would you think I’m Italian?” She asked. I was f*****g mortified “I’m sorry it’s just your book” she looked at the cover “oh right” she let out the cutest little giggle. She had a beautiful smile “and where in Ireland are you from?” “How do you know I’m Irish?” I asked trying to be cocky “Your accent” she said and by the look on her face she wasn’t impressed by me at all. Jesus she must think I’m an i***t, I looked at the Gerry and he was shaking his head. “I’m from Dublin” she smiled “I love Dublin” was all she said and I wanted to grab her perfect lips and kiss her when the train pulled up to a stop and she glanced over my shoulder “Oh this is my stop” she said and shoved her book into her handbag and wrapped her scarf around her neck. I started to panic. I couldn’t let her walk away, I hadn’t even asked her out yet. I had to do something fast “Yeah this is my stop too” which was a lie, I just wanted to walk with her and see where she was going. We stood side by side at the doors waiting for them to open. I couldn’t help but catch her sent, she smelled like coconut. We stepped off the train and Gerry gave me a thumbs up out the window “do you know that man?” She asked “no, not really, I just met him on the train, I think his name is Gerry” she smiled again and every time she did it I could feel my heart leap. No girl had ever affected me like that before. “he’s a nice man, two young guys were trying to come on to me and he shouted at them and chased them away. And another time I got off the train and I had forgot my umbrella and he jumped off to give me it back, which was really kind but the train pulled away without him” This guy Gerry was obviously crazy about her, and I couldn’t blame him, she was a knockout. I decided to lay my cards on the table “he said I should speak to you” she wrinkled her nose “why?” She asked “because I seen you yesterday and I told him I thought you were beautiful and he said I should ask you out” her eyebrows shot up like she was surprised I said she was beautiful “oh right” she said looking away from me and I could tell I had embarrassed her. I had to ask her out quick before I lost my bottle “well I was wondering can I take you out for a drink?” She bit her bottom lip again and I can’t tell you how sexy it was “I’m sorry I can’t” she said. I was disappointed but deep down I knew I didn’t have a chance with her “oh I see you must have a boyfriend. How can a gorgeous girl like you not have a boyfriend?” I said. She batted her eye lashes “no I don’t have a boyfriend” I had embarrassed myself enough for one day but I still wanted to hear her reason for knocking me back for a date “then why don’t you let me take you for a drink? come on just one drink” she shook her head “I’m sorry I can’t” what did she mean can’t? If she didn’t have a boyfriend then it was just because she didn’t like me. “I understand” I said I was gutted but I knew I shouldn’t have spoken to her. Although I had a lot of woman chase me they were no where near as hot as her. She must have sensed how disappointed I was “I’m sorry I can’t go for a drink with you because I cant go to the pub. I’m only 16” I couldn’t believe it. She was only a kid. I felt terrible, like some kind of pervert, but I honestly had no idea she was so young. I felt awful that I had spent the night before fantasizing about all the filthy things I wanted to do to her. “I’m sorry, I’m not a creep you just look older” she just smiled “it’s ok don’t worry about it” her smile actually took my breath away. I thought about it for a second, although she was young she was still the hottest girl I had ever met and she wasn’t under age. “what are you doing in London on your own?” I asked “I’m in a band. We have just been signed to a record company, we are down here recording the album” I was impressed “that’s amazing, I should get you to sign something for me before you make it big” she gave me a shy smile. She was such a little sweetheart. I liked how self assured she was one minute and shy the next. I wanted to tell her I would look after her. After all this could be a scary city for a young beautiful girl like her. As I stood talking to her outside the tube station every guy that passed us would give her a double take, but she didn’t seem to notice. I don’t think she knew how beautiful she was. “Is it a girl band” I asked she wrinkled her nose “no it’s a rock band, I play guitar and sing” wow I thought to myself, the thought of her with a guitar made me hard she was so hot. “It was nice to meet you, but I better hurry, my friend Fran is always giving me a hard time about being late” she said with a bashful smile. “let her wait, let me take you for a coffee” I knew I was being pushy but I didn’t want to let her go “Fran is a he, and he’s going to kill me, I better go” she turned and walked away. I shouted after her “but I don’t know your name” she turned around walking backwards and shouted “Its Lydia” “I’m Mick” she stoped and put her eyebrows down “short for Michael?” She asked and I nodded my head “I prefer Michael” she said and turned and carried on walking “maybe I’ll see you on the tube tomorrow” I shouted after her like a love sick boy. “yeah I hope so” she shouted back as she crossed the busy road. As she walked away I couldn’t take my eyes off her arse. And that was it, I was on her hook. I got the same train as her every day for two weeks. I loved getting to know her. She had a great sense of humour as well as being one of the nicest people I had met in London. But I got the impression that she was just being friendly and every day I had to remind myself that she was only 16 years old and far too young for me. One day I was running late and although it was my day off I still wanted to see her. I was panicking that I was going to miss her and when I ran onto the platform I had missed the train. But to my delight she was standing waiting for me. I was out of breath because I had been running to catch her and here she was waiting for me. “I’m sorry I’m late, I hope your friend doesn’t give you a hard time” I said trying to catch my breath. She shrugged her shoulders “I’m not working today” she said with a little smile. I couldn’t believe it, she was there because she wanted to see me just as much as I wanted to see her. “I’m not working either” I said and we both laughed at how stupid we were being “let’s go for that coffee” I said and after that we became friends. We would meet up for coffee or just walk around London. I didn’t want to push it with her because she was so young and I didn’t want to take advantage of her. But my feelings were growing stronger every day and I could tell she felt the same. One night we went to the cinema, as we sat in the darkness I took her hand. I felt like a teenager again. She turned her head to face me and I couldn’t stop myself, months of being friends wasn’t enough, I was desperate to kiss her. I leaned forward and kissed her and she kissed me back. It was a soft kiss and I knew I was in love with her. After that we were a couple, although she wanted to keep it a secret from her band mates to begin with, she said they were crazy protective of her. I understood and I didn’t want those young boys to think I was some old creep. Although we were a couple and she would sleep over at my flat we didn’t have s*x. She was so young and it felt wrong, but she was the sexist woman I had every seen. We started slowly just kissing but never full s*x. She told me she was a virgin and I can’t tell you how many cold showers I had to have, I deserved a medal for being able to restrain myself. I had never seen her naked only in her underwear and she was a knock out. Then one night she stayed over and I had made us dinner and we watched tv then went to bed. I had a hard on that would break wood and I watched her as she drifted off to sleep. She was beautiful and I could have watched her all night. She was wearing my T-shirt and I could see her n*****s through the fabric. I was totally sexually frustrated. I can’t tell you how hard it is to sleep next to the sexist girl in the world and keep your hands off her. I finally fell asleep and woke up around 2am and she wasn’t next to me. I could hear her in the kitchen. I got up to see if she was ok, when I went in she was standing with her back to me. She was on her tiptoes reaching up to close the window and my T-shirt she was wearing rode up to expose her perfect arse. I couldn’t take any more I wanted her. “Are you ok sweetheart?” She spun around with a fright and pulled down her t shirt “I’m sorry, did I wake you? I just wanted a drink of water” I stepped towards her “I woke up and you were gone” she gave me a little petted lip “you poor boy go back to bed” I looked her up and down “you look so sexy in my t shirt” she blushed and looked down at herself “really?” She asked. She had no idea the effect she had on men, and it made her even sexier. She bit her full bottom lip “sweetheart I want you, I can’t hang on any longer” I rushed towards her and grabbed her into a kiss. It was rough and fast and she was kissing me back, I put my arms around her and lifted her up off her feet she wrapped her legs around my waist. I walked her back into my bedroom and gently put her down on the bed all the time kissing her, long lustful kisses. But I had to remind myself to calm down and be gentle with her, this was her first time. Thinking about that night had me turned on but I had to snap myself out of it, I was going to be late for the wedding. I finished my whiskey and put on my suit jacket and headed down stairs. I got to the stair case when I spotted Stacey going along the hallway she stopped when she seen me. “Hi Mick how are you?” “I’m ok” I said but Stacey and I had been friends for years and she knew me well “you look nervous” she said “I am nervous, hows Lydia?” “She’s ok she said she wants a bit of time to herself before the wedding I think we were getting on her nerves” I couldn’t help but smile, I knew what she was like. She was one of the most famous women in the world but she hated people fussing over her. “I bet she looks beautiful” I said “yeah she looks great, you will see her soon, you better get down there, it starts in a few minutes” I felt the blood drain from me. A blind panic washed over me and I couldn’t hold it in any longer “no I can’t, I thought I could do it but I can’t” she stepped closer to me and lowered her voice “Mick what are you saying?” “I can’t do this Stacey” “Mick don’t say that” “I’m sorry Stacey but I can’t watch her marrying him, I can’t pretend I’m ok with all this, I need to see her” “Mick I can’t let you see her. It’s too late” “it’s not too late” “Mick I know you’re my friend, but if you do anything to ruin her wedding, I will tackle you to the floor and break your neck, don’t ruin this for her” she was right, I didn’t want to spoil her big day “ok but I’m going back to my room, I can’t watch this” she grabbed my hand “I’m sorry Mick, this isn’t easy for me either watching them be together. I loved him too once, but they are getting married and I want them to be happy” “the difference is I still love her Stacey, I came here and thought I could pretend to have moved on, but I haven’t, can you make an excuse for me? James is already down there, if anyone asks say I don’t feel well” I turned and headed back to my room. I should never have accepted the invite, after all who wants to be a guest at their ex’s wedding? Especially when your still in love with them. I thought about the day we split up, we had been together for about two years and we were really in love. I had took her home to Dublin to introduce her to my dad and the rest of my family and they all loved her. My mum had died when I was young but I knew that she would have loved her too. My twin brother James was already living in London and him and Lydia were good friends. I had really went home to get my Mums engagement ring from my dad. I planned on proposing to Lydia with it. I was going to ask her out to dinner and take her on the tube and sit in the same seat where we met and ask her there. When we got back from Dublin I had a meeting with my agent. She was over the moon she said I had been offered a part in a huge Hollywood movie that I had auditioned for months ago. I couldn’t believe it, everything in my life was finally coming together. My career had been going no where and I had been working in a restaurant for the past few months and now I was getting my big break. And most importantly I had my little sweetheart. But as we know now it didn’t work out that way.
