Progress

One Month Later 

Athena's POV

It's been a full month since this mission started and the progress we've made is tremendous. Zeke and I have gotten close to the alpha, but he wears this mask all the time, maybe a face deformity. His name is Marco Lewnett, sounds familiar, but I can't put a pin on it. Max is working his way to be the best warrior in the pack, even though I already know he is the best, he training other rogues already. Cal instead of following the beta, he actually got close to him, and goes on recruitment tasks with him. Michael, James, and Victor, told me that when the rogues go to different packs within the kingdom, they don't plan to attack, but they plan on finding more rogues. Why? I have no idea, but the mission is smooth sailing.

Right now I'm in a lounging area where most warriors in the pack go after training. I hear footsteps and look towards the entrance and it's the alpha. Mind you I'm in a sports bra and leggings from my training. 

I stand politely. "Alpha." I say acknowledging him. 

"You may sit, don't be so formal." He laughed behind his mask. I do as he says, and sit back down. "I never got the chance to ask you why you're here. It's usually a requirement for rogues to do with my beta, but he has been busy lately." I look at him, not showing my fear of saying the wrong thing.

"I hate being looked down upon. In the kingdom a woman in power is a threat and they would need to be put in their place," This is kinda true. " and when I tried to become the kingdom warrior, the king shooed me out of his office himself and embarrassed me. And I don't like being embarrassed. So, why not show him my power with a stronger pack." 

Marco looks at me with a smirk. Oh no. He takes his mask off and, "Oh my goddess." S**t i said that out loud. He chuckled and I don't think there is a flaw about this man. Why does he hate the kingdom so much. "What about you?" I ask.

"What about me?"

"Why did you create all of this?"

He looks at me with curious eyes and crosses his arms. "Let's just say I hate the system." He gets up and walks towards the door, but turns back around. "Aren't you coming?" I look at him confused. "A kingdom spy is waiting in the cellars, thought maybe you'd like to join." He smiles.

I get tense when he say 'kingdom traitor', but my men are well trained, so it can't be one of them.

Marco's POV

Walking down the basement to the cellars with Demi (Athena's spy name), I take her to a very dim cell with the spy in it. I know it may be weird for me to bring her here, but she's already shown me she is strong and I have plans with her for the future. 

I walk over to the wolf and kick him awake and put him on a chair. 

"Come here." I gesture to Demi to come to me, she looks shocked. Maybe this is new to her. She slowly walks over to my side. "I caught him myself, I thought it was weird that he was following my beta around. What do you think we should do with him."I turn toward her and I felt something big hit my head and I was out.

I wake up and I hear a commotion from a window in the cell. I hold my head and rush upstairs. I walk outside and see 5 wolves with my men circled around them. "So, all of you were spies." I gave myself a smack on the head for trusting so easily.

"Bring me their heads! Leave her to me!" I said pointing to the female wolf. My men and I all transferred to our wolves and went full ballistic. Demi or whatever her name is was fast, but not fast enough. I caught her and she fought very hard. 

"They escaped." My beta, Alex, said to me through mind link. 

"It's ok. I got the girl." After a while Demi passed out and transformed back into her human form, and so did I. I carried her back to the house and devised a plan. I called up one of my closest witch friend and had her come over. 

Time to get even.
