Kylo's POV
I slept in Athena's bed last night after I told her about Marco. I wasn't planning on it, but she just made me feel safe. It felt like the world wasn't there and it was just me and her.
Today I decided not make the kingdom train today, we all needed a break, and Athena kind of f****d me to. So, today we all were just with our families. I have the whole day with Athena and I just don't know where to start. She just wanted to train, so we ran this morning, and now we are having breakfast.
"I don't really know what I should do." Athena said snapping me out of my thoughts.
I look at her curious face, "What did you say?" I ask.
"I was asking if I should see how my powers work. Like a long time ago I read about all of the Goddess powers, and it was more than just teleworking and moving things."
I looked at her worried, "Teleporting? You teleported?"
"Yea." She answers not looking at me, "It was deep in the woods. I swear nobody saw me. I made sure of it." She reassured me.
I laughed at her rambling, and I started to smell something amazing.
"She gets aroused every time we laugh. Oh my f*****g Goddess it's so sexy." Kaiser said.
"I know right." I reply to him
I was about to respond to Athena's request to test her powers, but then I smelled a familiar scent.
"Father!" Kaiser screamed worriedly.
"Athena remember when I told you about my father? About his thoughts on mates?" She nodded her head.
"Well, he is here and I haven't told him about you, if I do he'll try his best to kill you, so just pretend you're my mistress." I say fast before my front door opens and my dad calls for me.
I saw Athena's wide eyes before I turned to see my father walk into the kitchen. "Oh, son? I didn't know you were having company." My dad said.
"Yes, well father this is Athena Carter. She is the one who informed us on the Marco situation." I introduce Athena to my father, hoping he doesn't see my distress.
"Oh my. You are the daughter of Robert Carter, an alpha. You are one special girl. I've seen you in the field, maybe you can teach my son about fighting some day." My dad says while reaching for Athena's hand and shaking it.
"Well, it is my pleasure to meet the King of Alphas. I am honored to have you as an admirer." She smiles and takes his hand. "Well, I must be off. I'll leave you to it." She says lastly before taking her leave. Well, not before I kiss her on the cheek, feeling her heat up under my lips.
Once Athena is out of sight my father starts. "I see you've snatched the best female wolf in the kingdom. I was going to recommend Poaches daughter, the one that lives in the snowlands. But, you've seem to have decided on your own."
"Poaches? They are isolated, we haven't spoken to that side of the kingdom in years father, why set that ally when we know they are loyal to this kingdom?" I ask.
"To ensure their loyalty. It's both of our absence that has lead to the silence. Poaches has been kind to the kingdom in my rule, make sure it stays that way, even if you don't marry them into this family." My father states, with a tone that is crucial.
"On to more important matters, did you find anything on him? Marco I mean?" I ask
My dad sits where Athena was, and pulls out his phone to search something. "After Athena came back to the kingdom he went into hiding. Although, we now know where he is hiding. It took us a while to find a pattern in his movement, but we found him. He's right here."
My dad hands me his phone and points to a spot on the screen. It's a place called Crowne, it's the city where most witches live. Some wolves, warlocks, and fairies live there as well. A long time ago, wolves had to swear not to try to kill witches if they helped with the war against rogues at the time, and they did. Now witches don't care if you are a rogue, alpha, warlock, or a evil spawned trying to kill an alpha, they won't mess with you as long as you don't mess with them. Crowne is a neutral city, nobody can fight there and that is a law.
"He's hiding in plain sight. We can't touch him there, but neither can he touch us. Maybe we can talk to him." I say.
My father's eyes widen. "Talk? Talk to a maniac? He won't listen to a thing we'll say so it's best to just end him. Nothing good ever came of him, so no need to try to right wrongs."
I look at my father with seriousness in my face. Wondering if he heard the words that just came out of his mouth. "Maniac? The only wrongs that need to be right are yours. You never even tried with him. You didn't want to look weak in front of the kingdom, so you planned on hiding him. And I bet you were so proud of me when you thought I killed him. Because that was a relief, huh?" I ask, my voice getting stronger and louder with each sentence.
He says nothing though. Just sits there and grabs his phone and stands. "I said what I know. Even you've no intention to kill him, then don't interact. I'll handle this like a true king, and hope to god this phase of yours pass when I hand the crown over to you." He says and heads for the door, but with no hesitation I grab his and turn him around.
"I have been to nice and very humble with you father, but I think we should set things clear. This whole kingdom sees you now as the former King, and my rule is now in play, so what I say goes. I expect you to respect that, and so-be-it of not, but I'm having my way." I pat my dad on the shoulder and walk past him to the stairs leaving him where he is.
I go upstairs to find Athena in my room. She's looking out the window admiring something.
"Something beautiful out there?" I ask her.
She turns around and walks up to me. "You're not like him are you? Like what most people think?" She says trying to observe me but I'm not giving off anything.
"I'd prefer no to end up like him. I'm assuming you heard." I say and she nods her head.
She stops observing and takes a step back, but I pull her back to me, closer even.
"I am a wolf after all." She says smiling at me, knowing what I have in mind.
