Chapter 5: The Triangle Sylvia's pov. I didn't linger long enough for the game to end because I had a bad feeling about this, the girl from earlier noticed my exit and followed me out, “Is something wrong?” “No, no, nothing's wrong, I just need to find my class, that's all.” “Oh, you must be among the new students,” she grabbed the schedule from my hand and scanned through it. Her eyes seemed to light up, “We almost have the same class,” squealing so loud, it brought unwanted attention. She, however, didn't seem to mind, “You are in the science department, I can show you around if you like?” She offered. The alpha's words rang in my head, stay out of trouble and try to keep a low profile. She was human, more than anything, she was the reason why my father was dead. Grabbing my schedule back, “Thank you but I don't need your help, if you'll excuse me,” I was out of there faster than she could blink twice. Isaac was on the pitch, no wonder he hadn't ridden with us to get her and why I hadn't seen him in the pack, he had arrived earlier than we did. And what's up with the other guy, did he go here? That would be impossible, but then again, it's not like I knew him. Either way, I had to stay as far away from him as possible if I didn't want the others to be suspicious. What if they trace it back to him being in the woods? It could totally implicate me and my family… I was so into my thoughts, I didn't know where I was rushing to until I bumped into someone by a corner, I felt hands wrap around me just before I fell to the floors. Wrapping my arms around whoever it was so I do not have to embarrass myself, “Twice in a week, are you sure we are not destined to be?” “You!!” My eyes widened in shock. He wiggled his brows at me, “Me!!” he was chuckling. His hands were still wrapped around my waist holding me in place while my hands were around his shoulders. Quickly, I untangled us and put some distance between us. He prompted his group to go ahead and he would catch up with them before turning back towards me. I, however, was already picking up my schedule and ready to be on my way. His presence made me feel off, I didn't know what it was but it was dangerous, the way his eyes raked me, “I haven't seen you around, you should be among the new students.” “Excuse me,” turning and walking in the opposite direction but this boy didn't seem to take a hint. His charming smile sat on his face, “Oh come on, don't be like that, we are more than acquaintances.” “We met once, which was an accident, we are not even close to being acquaintances.” Why wouldn't he just leave me alone? I growled before rolling my eyes and walking away, this didn't deter him as he was quite persistent. His chuckles were noise to my ears, everyone glanced towards us and I was guessing he was a popular person. This is so not how I wanted my first day to go. He stood in front of me, blocking my path, “Well I want us to be… more than acquaintances, my name is Ezekiel,” a cheeky smile sat on his face, showing off his dimples. I pressed my teeth hard against each other, from the look on his face, he wasn't about to let me go without an introduction, sighing in defeat, “Sylvia.” After which I stepped to the side and was on my way yet he still followed, “So what class are you in Sylvia, I'm currently in my second year, perhaps I can give you a tour?” “I'll pass.” “You are not really putting in as much effort as I am.” I gave him a deadpanned look, “That's because I don't want to,” I really wish he would understand that. God, this human. “Now that's not very nice now, is it?” Once again, he stopped me in my tracks, that same annoying smirk in his face and I caught sight of the neck piece of the ying. He was truly the boy from the woods, I honestly had questions, at the same time I didn't want to prolong this interaction. He honestly looked different, looked…good. His words before he left still echoed in my heart. He might have not been a bad person, but he was human, and humans are always terrible people. I would know. “Please, can you leave me alone, I really don't have anything to do with you, we can just go our separate ways and act like we don't know each other,” I begged him because he had no idea what was coming for him if anyone caught us speaking. They'll probably say I'm plotting a coup or something. He seems genuinely confused now, “What is it with you?” It was more like he was trying to figure me out, and that in itself was dangerous. “What's going on here?” My heart trembled at the sound of the voice from behind me, spinning around fast, “Isaac, it's nothing, I was just trying to get to class,” I defended as fast as I could. Why the hell did he have to show up now? This school was way too big for us to bump into each other. He wasn't staring at me, however, he was staring behind me. I was scared, not just for myself but also for Ezekiel behind me. “Al… uhmm, Isaac, it's not what you think it is,” I almost made the mistake of calling him alpha, holding his hands in order for him not to react. Ezekiel, not knowing what was going on, still had the audacity to speak, “This your boyfriend or something?”
