Chapter 24Inside the War Room Falcone sat at the computer closest to the door. He'd arrived at work before six. Unable to sleep, he figured going over crime scene reports would be a better utilization of his time. Tossing and turning got him nowhere, and only agitated Mary. She never called him on it, but he knew his insomnia bothered the hell out of her. Three separate folders were spread out in front of him. He read through the intake forms officers wrote after questioning any witness, and after going door-to-door in the neighborhoods. The evidence reports were thick but useless. Forensics had combed through personal hard drives, bank accounts, and credit histories. Nothing stood out; there were no obvious red flags. Clues existed. Falcone was certain.
