Tristan's eyes scanned the room, searching for a glimpse of my familiar face. But I was nowhere to be found. He turned to Bella, a hint of concern etched on his features. "Bella, have you seen Rhain?" he asked, his voice low and urgent.
Bella's expression turned thoughtful. "I saw her earlier, Mr. Belcher. She was standing by the bar, looking a bit... perplexed."
Tristan's eyes narrowed. "Perplexed?"
Bella nodded. "Yes, sir. I think she might have been confused about something. But I'm sure she's fine. She's probably just... powdering her nose or something."
Tristan's gaze lingered on Bella's face for a moment before he nodded curtly. "Very well. If you see her, please tell her I'm looking for her."
Bella nodded, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. "Of course, Mr. Belcher. I'll make sure to pass on the message."
As Bella turned to leave, Tristan's voice stopped her. "Bella?"
"Yes, Mr. Belcher?"
"Make sure she knows it's... urgent."
Bella's expression turned serious, and she nodded before hurrying off into the crowd.
I felt a cold run down my spine as I watched the exchange. What was Tristan looking for me for? And what did he mean by "urgent"?
I didn't have to wait long to find out. As I turned a corner, I saw Tristan waiting for me in the hallway. His eyes locked onto mine, and I felt a flush rise to my cheeks as he spoke, his words sending a thrill through my body.
"I... I don't know what you're talking about," I stammered, trying to maintain a semblance of innocence.
Tristan's eyes burned with intensity. "Don't play games with me, Rhain," he said, his voice low and husky. "I know you've been trying to get my attention all night. The way you smiled at me, the way you touched my arm... it was all a seduction."
Tristan's eyes narrowed. "Friendly?" he repeated, his voice dripping with skepticism. "I don't think so, Rhain. I think you want me. And I'm not going to deny it... I want you too."
My breath caught in my throat as Tristan took a step closer, his eyes burning with desire. I felt a shiver run down my spine as he reached out and brushed a strand of hair behind my ear.
"What are you doing?" I whispered, my voice barely audible.
Tristan's smile was slow and seductive. "I'm taking what I want," he said, his voice low and husky. "And what I want is you."
My heart raced as Tristan's fingers grazed my skin, sending shivers down my spine. I felt a rush of excitement mixed with a hint of fear as he leaned in closer, his eyes burning with desire.
"Tristan, I..." I whispered, my voice trailing off as his lips brushed against mine.
The touch was electric, sparking a passion I couldn't contain. I felt myself melting into his embrace, my lips parting to allow his tongue to explore my mouth. The world around us melted away, leaving only the two of us, lost in a sea of desire.
My hands wrapped around Tristan's neck, pulling him closer as we deepened the kiss. It was like nothing I had ever experienced before. The passion, the intensity, the sheer desire that radiated from Tristan's body... it was all-consuming.
As we broke apart for air, my eyes locked onto Tristan's, my heart pounding in my chest. I knew in that moment that I was in trouble. I was falling for him, hard.
"Tristan, I..." I whispered again, my voice barely audible.
But Tristan just smiled, his eyes burning with desire. "I know, Rhain," he said, his voice low and husky. "I know exactly what you want."
And with that, he pulled me back into his arms, our lips meeting in a passionate embrace that left me breathless and wanting more.
My heart was racing as I tried to break free from Tristan's grasp. I pushed against his chest, but he was too strong. Just when I thought I was trapped, I remembered the self-defense classes I had taken. With a surge of adrenaline, I used all my strength to push Tristan away and make a run for it.
I sprinted down the hallway, my high heels clicking on the marble floor. I could hear Tristan's footsteps behind me, but I didn't dare look back. I kept running until I reached the safety of the crowded party, where I lost myself in the sea of guests.
Breathless and shaken, I made my way to the bar, where I ordered a drink to calm my nerves. I couldn't believe what had just happened.
I had never seen anything like this before, so passionate and intense. And I couldn't deny the spark I had felt when he touched me. But I was determined to stay away from him.
I knew that getting involved with the wrong client was a recipe for disaster.
I finished my drink and made my way out of the party.
As I walked out of the party, I felt a mix of emotions: sadness, anger, and betrayal.
I couldn't believe that Ms. Vera had deceived me and sent me to the wrong person.
Just as I was about to step out into the cool night air, I felt a hand on my arm. I turned to see Bella, her eyes blazing with anger.
"You think you can just walk in here and steal him away from me?" Bella hissed, her voice low and venomous.
I was taken aback. "I don't know what you're talking about," I said, trying to shake off Bella's grip.
"Don't play dumb," Bella spat. "You know exactly what I'm talking about. Tristan Belcher. He's mine, and I won't let you have him."
My eyes widened in surprise. "I'm not trying to steal anyone away from you," I said, trying to calm Bella down.
Bella's eyes narrowed. "Save it," she said. "I don't believe you. You're just like all the others, trying to get your claws into him."
I sighed, trying to defuse the situation. "Look, I think there's been a misunderstanding. I just met Mr. Bertel tonight, and I don't know what you're talking about".
Bella's expression turned cold. "We'll see about that," she said, before turning and walking away.
I watched as Bella stormed off, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. I didn't know what Bella's problem was, but I knew I didn't want to get involved.
I watched her go, feeling a sense of relief wash over me.
I didn't know what Bella's problem was, but I knew I didn't want to get involved.
I took a deep breath and stepped out into the night, determined to put the evening's events behind me.
