~ Rain  "Girls like you shouldn't be wandering the streets this time at night." I heard a voice boom throughout the garden that led to the entrance. Without turning to see who it was, I had a clear idea of who it might be. The first thing my instinct told me to do was to instantly hide my phone and put it back in my bag. I did this swiftly before I turned to face him. I had in mind that there was barely any time left for me at arrive to that designated destination, so I had to finish this talk quickly.  In the light of the situation I was found in, he would probably think that I was trying to escape which is ten times harder for me to deal with. I had to come up with an excuse to convince him that I wasn't trying to escape my verdict, but it was impossible, judging my situation and even if I manage to come up with something, It will no doubt be the farthest it is from relevant. In addition to, the state of shock and hurry I was in after receiving those messages and the fact that there was a high chance I was going to die whether it was after I arrived at our destination or trying to reach it. Within this pack. This caused my brain to go on survival mode. I had to act wise and smart, taking into account that I was nowhere near wise or smart. This was going to be a challenge.   "It is not what you think!" I turned to face Samuel, attempting to make my point however, my argument was as weak as it could get. I had no proof to defend myself with.  "Enlighten me then," He started. "What are you doing at this time?" Silence enveloped the atmosphere, that I started to hear a faint whistling noise in my hear. This always happens to me whenever I was in a very quiet area. I have heard that it indicated hearing loss, considering that I was a werewolf, that was a questionable thing to happen to me. "I am waiting." He snapped my attention back to him after it was slipping elsewhere. I have no time for this. Say anything. My brain kept telling me.  "Something fell from the window and I came down here trying to find it," I facepalmed instantly after this horrible excuse for a convincing explanation. He suppressed his laugh and pretended to sympathize. "I tried opening the door, but it was locked, so I thought the window was the best option." I tried to make things better, but it wasn't really working. His unimpressed pretending to be concerned look didn't alter one bit.  "What was it?" He asked. I gave him a confused look. "What was it that fell?" He illustrated. Oh! "My..." I trailed off, sounding all the more suspicious. "Ring," I said the first thing that came to my head.  "That's tragic." He pursed his lips. He had a hint of mock in his tone, but I decided not to let it show that I noticed. "How are you supposed to find it?"  "I came down here to look for it." I said, pretending to look for it on the ground.  "You are like looking for a needle in a haystack." He started. "You can't find it now."  "It's very important to me that is why I am looking for it," At this point, I wanted to punch myself in the face. "I can help you look for it, if you want." He offered.  "No, thanks! I can handle this by myself." I immediately turned it down, hoping that somehow, he would just leave me be and walk away.  "That came out wrong. It was not an offer." He started. "It is a statement." I sighed. There was no turning back now. I got myself in deep and getting out was not going to be an easy thing to do. He crouched down and pretended to look through the grass for my -ring-. Suddenly...   I remembered something... f**k!  "Rain," He called.  "Yes?" I gulped.  "You should know something else about me." What did he mean? I barely know anything about him. "Liars really get on my nerves." f**k! I messed up. He knows. Of course, he did. He was playing along from the beginning. I thought to myself.  The curtains didn't budge. It had to be purposefully broken, for the window to be opened. "Tell me the truth." He said. "Were you trying to run away?" The answer he expected was an innocent 'yes'. Technically speaking, I was running away, but it was not as it seemed to be. I had a different reason than escaping my verdict.  "I know what it looks like, it is not what you think is it," I repeated myself.  "Rain. Stop chasing around the bush!" The smile he wore all the time faded. This time he was serious. Note to self. Samuel despised liars. If I ever cross paths again with him, remember not to lie! "I promise it is not." At this point, the words coming out of my mouth didn't even convince me, but still, I truly didn't want for him to know, in fact, he was the last person I wanted him to find out because, first reason, I really didn't want him to know any more about my personal life and the difficulties I was facing and second reason was that he had nothing to gain from helping me, so he would not bat an eyelid about it and I would not blame him for it. He had enough on his plate, considering, his position and who he was.   "I think I made it clear when I told you that you had no chance of running away before, right?" He started, waiting for an answer from me.  "Well yes, but..." I trailed off.  "I could have let you go after the verdict was over with." He said, pausing for a moment, thinking twice about what he just said, "Or not." He took it back. Time was ticking and I clearly had no time for this. If I didn't do something clever right now, my father would be gone.  I did the stupidest thing a person could do, I tried to knock him out and make a dash for it. I kicked my leg, snapping it forward quickly, but just as it was going to hit his head. He stopped it with ease as a reflex action then, thrusted my body backward. I fell on the ground landing with a loud thud. My bag was opened and some stuff including my phone flew out of it.  "Ow." I murmured, feeling the urge to rub my butt, however, my pride didn't allow me to do it. My phone suddenly started buzzing uncontrollably, catching both mine and Samuel's attention.  'Tik-Tok, Tik-Tok, Tik-Tok. It's 10:45 PM.' 'Your time is running out.' 'Come alone, or else.' '-Unknown- Sent a photo.'  'He won't last long, hurry up.'  'Tik-tok, Tik-Tok, Tik-Tok.' 'It's 11:00 PM' 'Looks like you don't care if your father died. Maybe we should add little motivation.'  '-Unknown- Sent a photo.' I could not see the pictures he sent since my phone was locked, but his threats made my heart drop to my stomach. What else was he going to do? I quickly checked the time. It was 11:10 PM. s**t! I barely have one hour left. I quickly stretched my arm to grab my phone, but it seemed that I was not fast enough because Samuel reached it first. My lazy ass didn't add a passcode since I thought it had no importance, if all my friends and family knew it, but now I realized how important it was.  I was too tired to stand up quickly and snatch my phone from his hands, so I just bit my lip, staring at him unlocking and checking the messages I really didn't want him to see.  "So that is why, then." He said after discovering the truth. Suddenly another text was sent which made a creepy smile spread on his face. "Oh, but I like the challenge."
