~ Rain
"So that is why, then." Samuel said, discovering the truth. I felt like I just lost a game. I was trying so hard not to let him know, but I failed miserably. I didn't want him to get bundled up with my business and know more about my personal life. Plus, I got myself into this mess and I had to get myself out, but now that he knew, I felt like my plans went to waste. "You could have just said, you know."
"I didn't for a reason." I admitted.
"And what that might be?" He questioned.
"I'm not obligated to tell you." Now that he knew the truth, I felt betrayed for some reason. I genuinely didn't want him to find out. Also...
The reason that stopped me from telling him the most was that I told him and if by any chance he sympathized and sent someone to come for my aid, or to go instead of me my father will be killed without any second thought.
I knew my father had a lot of enemies and people who wanted to take revenge on him, mostly gangs, considering his position as the pack officer. However, it seemed that I was the one they had in mind. They wanted to lure me to them, well technically, I was being forced rather than lure to our designated destination. It made sense that they wanted me, not my father. That would make me feel a heck worse if I was the cause of my father's death.
"As a part of your verdict I obligate you to tell me." He was pulling out the verdict card. I was getting tired of this. If I said that I will go help my father and come back to this pack as soon as I get this over with, will he believe me?
"I'm not sure if you noticed, but I barely have any time left." I announced, not daring to look at the time. He blinked a few time in confusion, then, he checked the time.
"I'm not sure if you noticed either, but it is almost a two-hour drive to reach your pack." he said, but suddenly, I realized something.
"How did you know which pack I was from?" I interrogated. He seemed to be taken aback by my sudden question, however, he contained himself quickly before it was too noticeable.
"You smell like one of them." Smell...? Right, I remember smelling an alluring scent when I first met him. Did he smell something like that too? However, I couldn't smelt at that moment, I had no idea why. "I'm very familiar with this scent." Alphas sense of smell is more heightened than that of a normal wolf, so it made sense that he would recognize my scent, but familiar? I wonder why...
"What so familiar about it?" I asked him out of curiosity, however, I got no answer just a sly smirk is all he managed to provide me with.
The time...
"What time is it?" I asked frantically.
"11:20 PM" He answered my question since he still had my phone in his hand. My phone buzzed again. His gaze dropped to check out the text I had received. "Oh, and he is telling you to hurry up."
"f**k!" I cursed, breaking one of my father's most sacred rules. I rubbed my temples and paced around. I need to find a shortcut to this place or my father would... I didn't want to think of it.
"Do you want a piece of advice?" He offered. I looked up and stared at him, tilting my head a little as a sign to go on with what he was saying. I wanted to know what he had got to offer. "This guy seems desperate." He started. "You can add your own conditions and he'll accept them as long as he meets up with you." He continued. "His first priority is to get you, not to hurt your father." He paused for a moment. "One more piece of advice. Don't swear. I really hate it when girls do that."
"That made sense, so what should I do now?" I asked. "Plus, that came out wrong." I admitted. In my pack, it is very unladylike to curse. I had a feeling my pack and his shared the same belief.
"I presume coming alone was one of the rules."
"Duh." I noticed that he didn't like any spicy attitude towards him, but I couldn't help it. However, he shrugged it off this time.
"Add the condition that he should be the one to come and get you." He started. "Tell him to come and meet you outside this pack."
"What if he does not accept my condition?" I asked, hoping that he had thought of this before. He appeared to be too cocky and full of himself to consider all the possibilities, but then I might be wrong.
"He won't, trust me!" I was right after all, huh!
"That is an obvious trap. He'll figure that out right away and kill my father." I deduced.
"It is not a trap." He stated. "I'm not coming with you, for your information, I have other things to do." Oh! For some reason that did hurt a little.
"Oh, right." I replied. I didn't have the right to be mad at him. I just met him, I was not one of his pack members and the most importantly, I was a lawbreaker. Why would he want to help me then? He had no reason to. However, I felt a little betrayed.
"And if you didn't come alone, he would kill your father on the spot." He explained. "So why would you risk that?"
"So you're telling me that I should reply to his texts with another place for us to meet in?" I summarized what he said.
"Yes," He nodded, and handed me back my phone. First thing I did was check the time. It was 11:45 PM. It was impossible to reach the place within only fifteen minutes. I typed down what to say, not sure if I sounded intimidating enough for him to accept my condition or not.
"Now, Rain." Samuel said out of the blue. "I have my condition."
