~ Rain
"It wasn't the Moon Goddess who casted the spell," He spoke suddenly and out of the blue, making both Lucas and the creeper jump in fear. They both looked at him wide-eyed in unison. His tone indicated that he wasn't very happy with the conversation they were having and the fear they had in their eyes told me that he wasn't about let that just slip. "And my sin is Pride." Silence enveloped the atmosphere, tension could be sensed from a mile away. I could feel his strong presence even that I was in a separate room, behind an almost closed door. I decided to back away in order not to get noticed. I rested my back against the door, subtly shutting it. I pressed my ear against the door and focused my hearing.
"A-alpha, I-I didn't know you were here." The creeper stuttered. I could feel the tension growing more and more strong.
"I killed the Moon Goddess' daughter which is why I was cursed for eternity," He carried on his story totally discarding the creeper's remark. My heart sank as I heard this. The sin of Pride? Killing the the Moon Goddess' daughter? How is that connected? And why would he do that? Many unanswered questions flooded through my head. I shook them off for the time being focusing on what was being said instead.
"Alpha-" Lucas was trying to say something, but the Alpha cut him off. However, Lucas seemed to have more confidence in his speech than that other guy.
"My father was the Alpha of a well known pack at that time. I really wanted to be the Alpha after him, but some things needed to be done first to gain that title." His words only made less sense to me. What was needed to be done? "And that's how I acquired my sin. I was the Prideful" He admitted. I knew very little about his past and it was confusing enough on its own, but his explanation to it made me all the more confused.
There was one more thing that caught my attention. If he was the prideful, doesn't it mean that there was another six- if not more sinners that were cursed by the Moon Goddess. Or am I taking it too far? Questions never stopped to flow through my mind. I really needed a satisfying answer because I was starting to lose my mind.
"Alpha, is there anything you wanted us to do for you to come here to our humble place?" Lucas asked in an attempt to change the subject. I could hear the Alpha's chuckle.
"I wouldn't need you to do anything else for me." He replied. "Your job is well done here." The Alpha stated, surely there was a double meaning behind his words.
"I am not sure I understand what you mean, Alpha?" Lucas asked, unsureness starting to cloud his voice.
"I came to check on something and now I made sure of it." He paused for a second. "I won't need you two anymore." The Alpha stated once again.
"I'm sorry, but your tricks don't work on me, Alpha." Lucas started. "Your methods are dull and not very effective when someone comes to think of it. You want to have a reputation that everyone would know you for." Lucas let out all the words buried in his heart. I could feel the tension of the other guy combusting up to the ceiling. He didn't like what was being said. The Alpha stayed quiet for sometime before he started to laugh.
"I like your theory." I could hear his footsteps approaching them. "It's convincing, but it's no where near the truth." His footsteps stopped. "If I wanted that so called reputation. I would have spoken about it myself." He proved his point.
"Do have a proof for it?" Lucas tested, still not convinced.
"I would have loved to keep you and your little theories, but you are no longer useful to me." He replied with an answer that had nothing to do with his question.
Silence suddenly dominated again and the smell was gradually fading away. I was starting to get paranoid and I really wanted to peak a look, but I was afraid I might get caught. I decided to stay put for a little loner and look for my bag to get my phone. Looks like I was going to call my father to bring my ass home after all. I crawled to the bed and landed my hand where I expected to find my bag since it was where I put it before going to sleep, but I found nothing. My heart raced and I started to frantically look for my bag, searching all over the room, but there was still no sign of it. I was certain I put it next to me when I went to sleep, but now I couldn't find it. A conclusion suddenly popped into my head. They must have taken it. I was blackmailed into coming here. What an i***t wouldn't take away my only source of escape in case things turned south. Of course they did. Now I had no choice, but to escape through getting out of this room and finding someone nice who would help me.
I slowly cracked the door opened and looked through the small gap it provided. I couldn't see or sense the presence of any soul. It's like they all disappeared. I didn't think much of it, feeling thankful that the path was clear anyway. I opened the door wide and stepped outside, making sure to take a quick look around to double check that the area was safe. I tip toed my way to the door, but then I turned back.
I decided I would take around jus in case I found my bag. It would make escaping this place a lot easier, but also I would get harsh scolding from my father for what I did. That would however be less harsh than my stay here and what Lucas and that other guy were planning to do to me. However, I felt a light stab in the heart as I planned on leaving, but I shrug it off continuing with my plan.
Luckily after a few minutes of searching I finally found my bag. I sighed in relief and a bright smile spread across my face. I opened it and fortunately my phone was still in there. I pulled it out and unlocked it, searching for my father's number however, just as I was about to call him I heard the same voice from earlier.
"Did you find what you have been looking for?"
