~ Rain Maybe I was the victim, after all, not my father. I felt the grip around my mouth tightens as the person behind me comes a little closer. I could feel his mouth very close against my ear. "We need to discuss things in a different place," A voice of a male whispered. I could make out if it belonged to someone I knew or not. Him whispering made way hard for me to put a name to his voice. What did he want to discuss? "I didn't sign up for this," I whispered back, forcing out a small chuckle. Yep, I guess its official now. I'm starting to lose my mind. The recent events had finally taken its toll on me. I tried fighting back, but the knife that was held against my neck was pressed harder as a warning. I immediately quit my pointless struggling. I can't die now, I had to make sure my father was okay and fulfill the promise I made to Samuel, otherwise, he said he would be coming for my pack and I was pretty sure he was not the type to bluff. My pack has its long history with his pack already and I didn't want to be the reason to add to that, so I obediently followed him to wherever he dragged me. We stopped suddenly. I could feel the change in the atmosphere. I could hear the sound of leaves rustling which meant that we were near a forest or maybe inside one. The silence thickened, and there was no sign of anyone speaking soon. I decided to start this myself and speak, "What do you want with me now that you finally have me?" I waited for an answer to my question, yet I got none. All I got was rapid breathing as if trying to indicate the smell of something or someone. "I'm sure enjoying the sound of leaves rustling isn't a part of your plan." Still silence... "I am done with this let me go." I struggled again, but his grip tightened and then I could feel the knife tip slightly touching the skin of my neck. Surely that would leave a scar. f**k. "If you move one more time, I swear to god, Rain..." He trailed off, saying my name, which obviously indicated that he knew me, however, his voice was not familiar, not even in the least. The thought that it could have been Caleb vanished completely. I knew Caleb's voice very well and this man's voice was nothing like it. I was slightly relieved to find out that it was not Caleb ,after all, that was behind all this. I misjudged him, but standing in front of me, accompanying this guy, only not speaking. "How do you know me?" I asked, demanding an answer. "Do I know you?" I asked again, but he ignored my question, proceeding to say something totally irrelevant to anything I was saying. "You smell like him." Now that is definitely irrelevant. "What do you mean 'him'?" I asked, emphasizing the word 'him'. "What did you do?" He asked again, his words confusing me. "You make no sense. I didn't do anything." I snapped. He was starting to really get on my nerves. "You smell like the Alpha of this pack." He stated. I smell like who? Samuel? I didn't even touch him, how would I smell like him. "What are you implying?" I asked, not quite sure yet of his intentions. I didn't want to jump into conclusions and in the meantime, I didn't want to be naive and assume that he was just pointing out this fact. "I didn't do anything," I repeated, sounding a little more annoyed than the last time. "Do not play coy, Rain. This is a serious matter." I could tell by his voice that he was a middle-aged man. Probably in his late thirties or something. His voice was low and rough. It hurt my ear just listening to it. "What makes you think I do?" I snapped. "What Alpha Richard expected is coming to life. That is what we all feared might happen" He started. "We gave you a chance Rain, you wasted it. You are a curse that is cast upon us, and we will need to get rid of you before you cause our pack any more trouble."I am a what? I felt my heart break at his comment. Tears started to gather in my eyes, but they failed to go down my cheeks because of his palms that were pressed harshly against my eyes. "I am sorry, Rain. You could have been a better person, but you chose this yourself." "What do you mean? I didn't do anything wrong." I forced out. "You chose to come here, didn't you?" He asked, waiting impatiently for my answer. "Yes, but what does that have to do with anything." I started. "I was planning to come back anyway," I admitted. "You wouldn't have come back to us. His aura will attract you to him no matter where you are." He paused. "The bond is alive inside you. It needs to be broken before it grows any further than this and unleashes the evil within it." What bond? Is he even talking about Samuel? "What are you talking about?" I asked. He was speaking in riddles and I failed to understand his words. "My mission now that I know that you became impure is to put you down." He stated. I felt the silver knife that was pressed against my neck being pulled a little bit further away, just so it could be stuck in my neck. "But I didn't commit a crime? Why do you want to kill me?" I yelled, struggling to break free again. However, I got no reply from him. He was so determined to execute his 'mission' and wouldn't listen to anything I say, so I gave up and sighed, closing my eyes intensely and waiting for the pain to arrive. "Hard Luck Samuel, but you'll have to wait for another thousand years." He shouted as he laughed in victory, like a maniac, before I sensed his other hand that held the silver knife moving closer. I gulped. Was that it? Am I gonna die only eighteen years old? That's too soon. But suddenly... "Yea. I don't think so." I could feel that person's body being removed forcefully. It was just a split second before the knife was stuck in my neck. "The skill of patience is not one of my specialties, you see."
