~ Rain  "I have standards. If you treat me like a maid because I am your second chance mate and not the actual one, I will have to reject you." I stated in the most serious tone I could speak with. He halted his walking and paused, seeming to be startled by my sudden decleration. He did not turn to face me, but I can feel the tension in the air intensified. It seemed that he did not like my choice of rejection.  "You would not dare." He threatened.  "Is that a challenge?" I tested. I can tell that me rejecting him unsettled him greatly. He desperately needed me for some reason, but his pride prevented him from admitting it. The prideful. Now I see...  "Do not test me, Rain." He started. "I have been in hell on earth for hundreds of years and I am not ready to repeat that. Complete your verdict and leave."   "The prideful..." I trailed off, causing him to squeeze one eye slightly, while tilting his head as a sign of confusion. "Get rid of your sins and we can talk about that." I stated. He spun and took a few steps towards me. He stopped when he was right in front of me.  "You talk as if you are free of sin." He scoffed. "I told you this before, but looks like you do not pay attention. Everyone is  a sinner, and you are not an exception." He explained.  "At least I did not anger the Moon Goddess to the point of bringing me to the book." I argued, crossing my arms over my chest and proving my point.  "You never know..." He trailed off. I stared at him straight in his eyes. They seemed lost for a second before they snapped back to reality. My conclusion was that he doze off, remembering something, probably unpleasant. "You would do the person that tried killing you a favor by rejecting me, you know." He said out of the blue.  "And why is that?" I waited for an answer before another question popped in my head. "You knew from the beginning why didn't you tell me?"  "I will not tell you, but you will figure it out on your own when the right times come." He answered one question pausing a few seconds before answering the other one. "I did this for your own good." He forced out. His pride was taking a good hold of him. I began to understand why would the Moon Goddess went to such lengths. My first instinct was to help him get rid of this. I wanted him to become free of sin. Maybe only then the Moon Goddess would forgive him and lift whatever made him feel like he was living in hell on earth.  "I do not see what is so beneficial for me by hiding the fact that we were mates." I argued.  "Like I told you before, you would not understand." He proved his point to be valid even more.  "I have decided." I spoke suddenly after a few minutes of uncomfortable silence. "I will not reject you for now. I will do what I have to do, but when I am done, I will not stay with you any longer. I will be going back to my pack." I announced, causing him to chuckle at me.  "Oh, you choose to go back to the people that used your father as bait and wanted to kill you. Go ahead, then!" He scoffed.  "The people in your pack will want to kill me too when they find out the truth, so it does not make that big of a difference, really!" I replied.  "You can do whatever you want, I will not stop you! However, you are safer with me than back at your pack." He paused. "No one would welcome you back anyway."  "Thank you for the heads up, but I will make my own choice." I started. The only reason I decided not to reject him was my verdict. He kept referring to it as the verdict instead of saying that I would be his Luna. He is smart. He chose to refer to it as a verdict for trespassing, in order to have me to do it, not leaving a space for me to say no. When he refused to say what the verdict was, I instantly assumed that it had something to do with being an Omega for a couple of days or a week. Maybe paying a fine too... Worst case scenario, be locked in a dungeon and have the Alpha of my home pack come and apologize for his member's lawbreaking for me to get out, but not. That was not the case. He recognized me when he first saw me, and knew that I was his mate–  But wait a second... He would have to touch my skin to know for sure that I was his mate. Smell was not an accurate indicator, considering some wolves could conceal their smell or totally alter it if they drank certain potions provided by witches. In most cases, wolves do that for evil purposes. Suddenly, I realized something else.  At first, I could smell this intoxicating smell when I first saw him, but now it stopped. He must have concealed it, so I would not get any ideas.  Also, when he got nervous whenever I got close or touched his long sleeves covered arms. All those signs and I was clueless.  I internally face palmed myself. It was said that he was manipulative and smart. I should have paid more attention...  All of a sudden another realization hit me.  "You were being nice at first because you wanted make me fall for you, then you would ask me to be your Luna and so, I would take this chance to escape my verdict, not only that, but become Luna too and all of this, without telling me the fact that we are mates. However, now that I know, it made no sense for you to keep acting nice. You think that I will love you no matter what now that I know we are mates. "But you are wrong you need to give me a reason to stay by your side, I won't accept you as my mate until you do and as for my -so called- verdict, I will only be doing this for three months and I am done."  "I do not need any longer than that..."
