After everyone had finally left we servers then cleaned everything up and set up for lunch, once we had finally finished we made our way into the servers room to have our own lunch, today the chief had made us some sandwiches as there was so much left over meat from the feast yesterday, Ethan grabbed one and came to stand by my side, I got a sandwich and went to take a seat Ethan coming to sit next to me Anna gave me a sly smile and went to sit next to some other people leaving me alone with Ethan, he was charming and thoughtful he got straight up and went and grabbed us both a cup of tea it was lovely as we sat sipping on our hot drinks talking about life, I found out that Ethan’s family lived within the castle walls his mother worked in the castle she was a cleaner for the royals rooms, his father was a guard to the king so they were slightly higher ranking than my own family, Ethan’s life growing up had been a lot more comfortable than my own but he hardly ever saw his father as he was always working but at least they could afford to live. I told Ethan about my life and family but he didn’t judge me he understood his life wasn’t royalty after all he was very humble and realised that his life was slightly better than others but he still worked hard and was working his way up to be a royal guard like his father. Once our lunch was over we served the royals their lunch and dinner the day had gone past without anything to report I had enjoyed my time being a server but I hadn’t heard if I was required tomorrow, for now I was just looking forward to my bath, "Scarlet!" Anna shouted me just as I was about to go down to the kitchens I turned around to her grinning “the head server wants to speak to you! go on hurry he's in the serving room” I rushed past her upstairs Ethan was standing outside the door “I’ll wait for you walk you home" he smiled at me reassuringly I gave him a shy nod and walked into the servers room “oh Scarlet hi, I have heard you have really stepped up helping with the serving" the head server was tall and extremely thin, he didn’t look very old probably mid thirties with a friendly face “yes I have enjoyed my time here” I smiled at him "good, so you would like to become a server full time then?” he smiled at me "yes please!" “great you can start properly in the morning, I will get some new uniform and your room sorted”. I skipped from the room to a waiting Anna and Ethan “they want me to work with you guys full time!" "yay knew you would!” Anna hugged me "do you get a room?” she asked "they said they are clearing one out for me!" I could scream I couldn't believe I was going to be a server let alone sleep in the castle most nights!” "yeah I hope its near mine!” Anna squealed I hugged her again before she realised that Ethan wanted to speak to me she said goodbye and left for her room “so shall I walk you back?" Ethan asked me "yes please” I beamed up at him. Ethan and I were walking the long road to mine I had told him a few times I would be fine but he insisted I had that feeling that I was being watched again but I felt better being with Ethan, "ok my house is just down there" I pointed in the direction of my home to Ethan "wow you really are far from the castle good job you will have a room there!" he chuckled I laughed along with him, suddenly he stopped in the path grabbing both of my hands “I know we have only just met Scarlet but I really like you" Ethan looked down at me a soft honest expression on his face I blushed bright red "oh thank you Ethan I like you“ before I knew what was happening I felt his lips on mine kissing me softly, I swear I heard a growl behind me I pulled away from Ethan looking around “did you hear that?" I asked him "if you mean the sound of my heart pounding then yes" I chuckled at him he was so silly he pulled my chin towards him again kissing me softly “see you tomorrow beautiful" I fluttered my eyelashes at him “see you tomorrow", he left me to walk the rest of the way back to my house we both turned around to see each other one last time waving awkwardly before heading home, I placed my fingers on my lips when I could no longer see him, I had never been kissed before, I wasn't sure that I liked him in that way but he certainly was growing on me, in my day dream I didn't notice the large shadow walk along side me, before I knew it there was someone stood at my side eyes wide and staring at me I let out a little scream before he moved into a dim light from a torch it was the handsome stranger what was he doing here!
