“In that case, let’s talk about names. Have you decided on a name for your baby girl?” she asked Naomi, and I felt a rush of guilt and relief. Guilt because I had missed the baby shower. Relief because she had let the topic of Daniel go. However, the guilt was hard to swallow because not only had I missed the baby shower, I had missed the gender reveal. Naomi was going to have a girl, and I filed that information away so that I could make up for missing the party in the first place.
“Not yet, Erik and I are hashing it out,” Naomi replied. “We are on the fence about whether we want to name her Hope or Faith,”
“I like Hope,” I quickly said with a smile. Naomi glanced over at me and sighed softly.
“So does Erik,”
“But you like Faith?” I asked and she nodded.
