Leander recognized the handwriting when the letter appeared on the table at luncheon. As much as he wanted to tear into the letter and read its contents, he restrained himself. Even though he was excited to hear from Basil, he still hurt from Basil’s sudden departure after their zoo outing with Peter. It had been over two months since then.
My Dearest Leander,
