Epilogue: "Never ask why or how"
In life, there's two types of people, those who cast their darkest secrets away... And those who choose to live in the dark instead...
It's not a matter of pride or prejudice... It's a life or death situation!
Because when the blind choses to live in the dark, light becomes a poison to the soul...

"What are you staring at, mommy?"
The little girl asked with her soft-toned voice, looking at the white-haired angelic beauty in front of her.
Her mother snapped back to reality as she let out a sigh full of selflessness, "I just think that the stars and moon are especially charming tonight..."
The little girl gave a sad smile as she looked at the bright sky, not bearing to look straight at the flaming sun. Not wanting to look at her mother's blind eyes.
"... It's indeed charming tonight..."
She whispered with her soft voice that lacked the wickedness of adults.
Her eyes fixed on the blue sky, with the rays of the scorching sun blinding her teary eyes... She didn't want to look at her mother's miserable face that was drained of all color...
She didn't want to see the same sight she's always seen...
She failed to notice this time... She failed to see her mother's empty eyes filled with some feelings she never ever had... she failed to see the loving face and warm smile...
As a tear fell down her willowing face, she whispered under her muffled breath after what seemed like an eternity, "... I'm sorry, my girl... But I'll always be here waiting for the day you acknowledge me..."
Shocked by the unexpected words, she shifted her sight and, with a blurred vision, all she could see was that heart-felt tear on a blank sheet...
She wondered how could blind eyes still shed tears too... When her mother's figure and blurred face faded all at once.
"Dear God!" Gasping for air, the eighteen years old girl, Elle, woke up from the nightmare that was chasing her for years...
She reached for a glass of water, and took a few minutes to calm herself down and reminiscence about what she's just seen...
"... Mommy..." A whisper-like unconscious sentence left out her mouth... That was when she finally realized something: "Blood!... She didn't bleed to death this time!"
She was talking about the woman she was calling her mother in her dream... That woman that became all unfamiliar to her now that she's conscious, used to fall down like a withering flower, with blood seeping from her eyes and mouth, drenching her snow-white robe like a freshly painted blooming rose...
Thinking about the words she last heard from her felt absurd...
And she wouldn't be asking herself why would she dream about the same old dream she's been having since as old as she could remember. Or why would she be dreaming of a woman and calling her mother when she couldn't even remember her name....
The sound of knocks on her door took her by surprise and pulled her out of her dark thoughts...
"I'm coming!" was the sentence that left her mouth as she pulled the sheets out and stood up.
5:54, and it just turned 5:55.
That was typical... The knocks on the door would die down right before the alarm go on telling her it's 6 in the morning and she should prepare herself.
She'll have to start her day by cooking, preparing ten portions for breakfast without counting hers...
She was frying eggs when she finally heard the sound of footsteps coming down the stairs.
"Good morning Beth!" She didn't even have to turn around to guess who it was...
"Hm... What's for breakfast?"
Elle didn't even care about the ignorance before responding shortly, "The usual."
Beth or Bethany was her "Uncle" 's "wife"... And she was only five years older than her. This twenty-three years old woman used to being a strip dancer, the best at the bar she used go work at on top of that... And she' s still working there.
"Argh... I'm heading out to work!"
As she was putting the dishes on the grand table, she saw Beth's figure shift by, her red flaming hair making that perfect highlight to accentuate the tight-fitting micro-dress that hugs her perfect curves and long legs...
"Good bye Beth..." She said carelessly as she took her toast with her, she looked at the clock and walked up the stairs.
She got her uniform on and her converse shoes, letting her silky curls down her shoulders, reaching down to her waist.
She didn't need to wake any of the house's residents up... They never wanted her help, especially that they almost never meet up, this huge mansion was housing a bunch of indifferent non-related "Relatives"...
"Want a ride?"
Once she set foot out of the solitary-looking mansion-like villa, she was first met with her "Uncle" 's inquiring gaze.
The man right in front of her was Raven, a handsome man in his early thirties and the youngest out of all her other "uncles".
Looking at his sweaty tank top in this chilly weather, the bulging abs and firm muscular arms holding the heavy axe... His sharp face and frosty eyes gave him the aura of a lone wolf, unapproachable yet unresistable in the most toxic of ways...
Hopefully he wasn't the one to fall for Beth or else it would've been such a waste for his good genes.
"No need... You seem busy and I know the way." she knew how to master her sweetest smile, and she knew the only person in this house who deserved it was her "uncle" Raven.
"I have something to tell you on the way." He put his final words in what seemed like a definitive tone, and she knew it was pointless to talk things over when he already threw the axe down, letting the still uncut pile of wood behind.
In fact, "Uncle" Raven was not by any means a man of words, and he never really let his feelings and emotions out on his face... But she knew that, out of all her uncles, he was the nicest and kindest to her.
At least he really cares about her... More than her own father. She even doubted he was her real father once when she was still thirteen.
He was the man who'd ask her about her day, ask for her wallet to check for "his stolen stuff" and diss some cash instead, knock on her door every 5 minutes everyday before the clock's alarm go on and the other residents come for trouble instead...
"I'm going to be out for a while."
His short sentence snapped her back to reality and took her by surprise.
Looking at his firm unwavering face and his sharp eyes fixed on the road up ahead.
"How long?" She asked after a pretty long time...
It was the first time her "Uncle" goes out, but it was totally expected. All the residents would have to go out every once in a while and her "Uncle" was not to be an exception, even tho he never went out before.
"A month..." He answered shortly, follewed by a short silence before adding, "At the very least."
"Why?"
Elle asked without even thinking and once she realized what just came out of her mouth, she regretted it... It was the untold rule of the Rosenvelt mansion, "Never ask why or how".
