A Luna from Another World

848 Words
King Landor of the Lycan Planet located 3000 light years from Earth bowed to the Intergalactic Market councilperson in the projector knowing that this meeting would change his life and that of his people like nothing had done since the Great Awakening. When his people linked themselves to the market network aeons ago, a lot of things had changed, most for the better as his planet had been on the brink of self destruction back then. Still, there had been a couple things unmoved over the ages such as their Faith to the Goddess of Moons and the fact that no ruler before him had ever mated with a Luna from an alien planet. Now, the priests all over his planet were of one voice announcing that the Goddess had revealed one of her most precious and hidden tears, meaning a new planet with sentient life was discovered by the Market, and that such a discovery was a sign for their ruler because their awaited Luna hailed from that new planet. -Lady Amelia is still being instructed-said the councilperson, a Briccan displaying a full on radiant face, meaning she was very happy-She is very young for her race, only 19 years according to our calendars but her mind is stable and she is absorving the change and all the new knowledge well- -What about her body?- -She will keep an appearance as close as her original one to make the passage as easy as possible-the councilperson displayed a miniature version of Amelia´s new body. She sported the Lycan ears at the top of her head then followed by a mass of brown ringlets falling to her shoulders. Her skin was also a light brown color dotted with freckles. Her body was petite, she also had a Lycan tail at her back that ended on a white tip. -In her world, there is extensive Lore about shape shifters and even one related closely to Lycans-the Briccan explained- King Landor showed no change on his face when he heard that. He kept the same serious expression when faced with the model that would house Amelia´s consciousness. Lycans tended to measure twice what normal humans did and her old body would be unsuitable to her new life as a human representative. -The Council has scheduled her arrival in your planet for the cycle before the next Goddess Festival- -I will be awaiting her-he said- She will be given time to experience the life here before any ceremony takes place or any commitment is made between us. Even if she is the one in the visions of my people and the mate bond makes itself known, I vow to refrain from our customary traditions if she does not agree with it- The Briccan smiled and her face literally lighted up like a shooting star. King Landor thought she must have a really hard time when negotiating business if her feelings and thoughts were so easily shown -With the blessings of the Goddess of Moons, both of you will find the way-she said. King Landor nodded and the communication was ended. He had barely days now to prepare for Lady Amelia´s arrival to his planet and his life and it felt somehow strange. He had been waiting for his Luna for 50 human years and now time seemed to be what he did not have. Most members of his close pack had found their mates in half that time. Yes, in times of peace, Lycans had a life expectancy of over 500 years but by the time they were 25 most had already found mates and settled into their lifes because they had originally evolved from species that were highly aggressive and lived in an environment that was harsh and unforgiving. A lot of that had changed when their planet entered the Network and trade flowed. His people could come and go as they pleased, they had visitors from all over the Cluster that came looking for the excitement of a planet with long winters and its wildlife and flora left mostly untouched. Many had no such thing on their home planets as highly advanced and technical societies abounded and in their path to evolution, had sacrificed a lot of their natural environments in order to survive. And sure, there were places like Hellas where life had still evolved despite having everything against it. As he walked out of his private office and towards the Pack Assembly where he had a meeting with his main officers about the inminent arrival of the Luna from another world, King Landor really hoped that his strenght did not fail him when faced with her. If she really was his mate, not being able to even touch her hand or get near her was going to be nothing less than torture and he had to endure for both their sakes. She knew nothing of their bond and her feelings for him would have to be allowed a time to grow before he could finally have her in his arms and share all the intimate things mates did.
