Arrival
To Cayetana Corvez,
We are emailing to inform you that you have been selected for Prevail Academy.
Your outstanding accomplishments and phenomenal report are two of many reasons you have been selected.
Prevail Academy ensures you to do your best to shape you into the very person you are meant to be to make your mark on the world.
We expect you to be dropped off at said location and said time below.
We are excited to have you at our Academy.
I can't help but read my official acceptance letter to the most elite Academy in the world. Any person would kill to have one of these! It does look a bit holistic and dull. I'm sure acceptance letters are meant to be a little more peachy? I hope it's not a fake, I thought to myself.
Well, it's a little too late now I say to myself as we pull up to a beautiful long driveway with two huge stonewalls on each side leading right up to our destination. We get a little closer and nowI am now starring at the Academy itself. It looks a lot bigger than the photos displayed in the brochure. Perfectly tucked away behind mountains in the middle of a forest leading for miles in every direction, three castles, the middle castle being the biggest.
A group of students seem to be training intensely, thoroughly indulged in their combat training. Have you ever been to a school where every single student is ambitious and driven just as you are, if not more? Neither have I. Oh boy, is this year going to be spectacular? I turned to my mother, giving her a look of approval, showing her my most genuine smile and being returned with a bigger smile.
" I'm glad you think it's beautiful our Princess. What did I do to deserve a beautiful, grateful daughter like you?"
my mother says, more as a statement than a question.
"It's absolutely perfect. I think I will love it here, mom, and I also think it's the perfect place to finish my educational studies. Thank you and Dad for everything you have done to get me here. I promise you both I will make you proud",
I said to my mom, who is now in tears hugging me for dear life.
"I wish your father could have been here, but, no matter, we will see you in two weeks for your celebration of our Princess. It is tradition here that they hold a celebration for "special" students and you, my daughter, are one of them."
At that time, I wish I had listened to all the clues my mother was giving me then, but I was just too infatuated with the school now that we were parked right in front of it. I would later find out the hard but exciting meaning behind my mother's hidden messages.
In no time, the doors were pulled open for us. My mother stepped out first. The two men that opened the doors didn't even look at my mother, instantly bowing in submission, then greeting her. I have never in my seventeen years seen anything like this and I have been to many places around the world, but man, is there something different about this place? I can feel it. So far it is just very formal and I love it. I am absolutely here for it.
My mother looked like a true Queen in her white dress that hugged her perfect petite figure perfectly ending just above her ankles. It was matched with a black coat and heels to match
I am fortunately blessed with her afeaturess we both have platinum gray hair that reaches her shoulders while mine reaches my waist and bright gray eyes to complement our porceline skin and full pink plump lips.
After their little formality exchange, I got out of the car and instantly felt a hundred pairs of eyes on me from all directions. Some gazes I feel burning through the castle stone.
Today I am in my light gray cotton dress that starts at the top of my cleavage, ending at the top of my thighs. It is absolutely beautiful as it is the color of my eyes. I paired it with a black overcoat and black thigh high boots with my long platinum hair tied into a high bun.
I decided to wear my big hoop diamond earrings and diamond necklace my father recently got me as a gift for that weird acceptance letter I was reading just before. I also decided to wear a pair of black Chanel sunglasses, disregarding the fact it was not summer here. That wasn't the point, I just needed them to match my Chanel handbag.
I knew this Academy had uniforms and rules on certain clothing but they did not say which clothing. All they managed to utter was "You will eventually know what to wear and what not to wear", which did not sit well with me.
That was simply just not a good enough reason for me to change my whole taste in fashion for the Academy I will be attending.. Well, I actually don't know, because they did not say? Something I'll definitely have to ask someone about it. Snapping myself out of my thoughts, I turned to greet the two men who were slightly bowing their heads as if they were waiting for me. Oops, sorry if they could read my mind they would understand it is fashion emergency thoughts.
"Hello, it's a pleasure to meet you both. My name is Cayetanna, but you can call me Caye."
I said proudly, extending my arm to two boys who looked my age now that I was closer to them. The Greek God gene must really run in this country because boy do these students look... amazingly perfect. Too perfect.
"Ah- hello ms, sorry it is just in our nature. I am Sage and this is Stone. Here at the academy, a selected few take part in guarding our pack- assigned area. We not only guard the academy but also this whole forest. We change shifts allot, we are a part of the morning crew. It is a pleasure to finally meet you, Cayetana. We have been waiting for you.
Please follow us as we are assigned to take you to the Headmaster.
Lu- Mrs Corvez, it is lovely to see you again. Please tell Al- Mr Corvez we wish him well and that we will ensure no harm comes to his daughter. We will see you in two weeks."
I'm looking at the two men confused. Did they just dismiss my mother and she just agreed? What? I think to myself as my mother buries me in one last deep embrace before whispering into my ear.
"You will learn and discover new great things, baby. Greater than you and I, please do not fight it. Join it, embrace it and nurture it in order to love it and love it if you will. Just enjoy your time here baby. There may be times where you seem confused, but do not worry, everyone has a certain destiny and their own part to play and mark to make in this world my darling this academy will be there to help you embrace that do you understand me? All in good time, you will understand why we do the things that we do. I cannot wait until you find your calling my Princess, a powerful, ambitious little lady you will be. Do not let anyone underestimate you and do not make the mistake of underestimating yourself here. You have been the perfect girl your whole life and you have accomplished that effortlessly, my girl. It's time to let all that bottled emotion out here as that is what the academy is for. That is my advice to you, my baby. I will see you on your special day. We will call every night. I love you my babygirl."
"Okay mom, I will. I promise I will do my best. You know me, I am always up for an adventure. I'll call a little later. Hopefully dad is home then. Bye mom, I love you too."
"Wow. Such a caring mother you have, wise words she said. I wish I had caring parents such as yourself. Ready when you are a little lady"
The boy I now know as Stone said, now snapping me out of my sad trance, and I am now in the realization that I now have an entire world in front of me. A world I can make of my own.
