The Sapphire Dragon

***Lyanna´s POV*** Everything is dark. I try to look around to see where I am but I can not see anything. All i hear is the sound of flowing water, i follow the sound when all of a sudden i have water up to my neck. I panic and I try to swim to the edge, but there is no edge anymore, only more water. I frantically swim around to find a way up from the cold water, when all of a sudden something pulls me under the surface. Something was latching on to my leg and pulling me further down into the abyss. I kick and  thrash my body in every direction to try to get away but nothing helps. I only sink further. Exhausted, I open my eyes one last time to find a way out, that is when I am faced with two gigantic glowing blue eyes staring at me.   ¨miss……. miss?..¨ The mysterious eyes disappear and I wake up to a bright flashlight in my face. ¨Miss i'm sorry to wake you up but we have arrived at this trains final destination, so i have to ask you to please take your bags and leave the train.¨  I look up at the middle-aged woman staring at me with tired eyes and a forced smile on her face, pointing with her flashlight at me and at the exit to show me that I need to leave now. I give her a shy smile and gather my things. ¨Ohh I´am sorry of course.¨ I hurry off quickly. Embarrassed to have been found asleep and to be forced off the train. ¨Seriously Lyanna! Falling asleep again?!¨  I scolded myself. I know better than to let my guard down like that. You never know who could be watching. It's 11 o'clock at night and I'm standing in a small empty train station somewhere in the Scottish countryside. I turn around and see a small sign that says Achandunie.  ¨Where the f**k am i?¨ I was supposed to meet Lani at the station in Inverness, and now i'm standing here in a cowfield in the middle of nowhere with no place to go. I take out my phone from my bag to try and call Lani but to add to the bad luck the battery is dead.  ¨ Of course the battery is dead, why would it not be!¨ I scream out in frustration. I take a deep breath and take my things and walk into the small station house. Luckily it was opened and to my relief there was an old payphone that I could use. I find some loose change in my bag and put it in the payphone and punch in Lanis number. I only hear one signal before i here a angry voice on the other end. ¨ WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU! Do you have any idea how many times I have tried to call you ?! Is it that hard to pick up your d**e phone! You were supposed to meet me at the station 3 hours ago. Where are you?¨ ¨ OMG can you please calm down Lani! I fell asleep on the train and my phone is dead. By the way, how did you know this was me calling?¨ ¨ Who else would be calling from a strange number in the middle of the night? Now tell me where you are.¨ She said through gritted teeth.  I smile to myself at her angry and blunt reply. ¨ I'm at some place called Achandunie. Do you know where that is ?¨ ¨ Oh thank god that is not that far away. For a minute there I thought you were on the other side of the country again. Do you think you can find somewhere to stay for the night?¨ She says in a much calmer voice.    Not wanting to worry her anymore I say that I could stay at a nearby inn for the night. Knowing very well that would not be possible, but I did not want Lani to know that.  And after some more discussion we made a new plan for tomorrow. And with that the call ends. I hang up and turn to a small bench that sits in the corner of the small station house and lay down and look up at the ceiling. Luckily it was still quite warm outside even if it was the middle of september.  I think back on Lani´s response from the call and I start laughing for myself. Lani is my best friend and I have known her for 8 years now. We met at a history night class. Although I never knew why she took those classes because she always argued with the teachers telling them they were wrong all the time. And telling them how it actually was , almost like she had lived during those times. I Alway found it funny and sometimes I almost believed her. From the way she talked sometimes you could almost think she was from another time.  Lani is a beautiful girl with raven black locks that rested on her tanned shoulders, tall and curvy body that always made people turn their heads. Big hazel colored eyes, a thin nose , plump lips and a smile that could make anybody fall in love with her. Me on the other hand was nothing compared to her. With my short height, pale skin, a face covered with freckles, brown/black eyes, small nose and average looking smile. The only thing  I do like about my looks is my waist long blond curls , unfortunately it does not match the rest of me.  People alway found it funny how Lani and I could be friends. Lani Is this beautiful outgoing and popular girl while I'm the more average looking, timid,  nerdy girl. We do not have much incomen but we did not mind. We have a good chemistry and like each other's company. I turn around on the bench and close my eyes to try to get some sleep again. After what seemed to be hours I finally fell asleep. As I drift off I start to hear the flowing water again. Only this time it is closer and it sounds like the water is falling from a cliff. I turned around and just as I thought there was a big waterfall just a couple of meters from me. I try to walk away but my body doesn't want to move. It is like it's  hypnotized by the beautiful waterfall in front of me. All of a sudden I hear a low growling sound coming from the waterfall, I start to panic again and I try to make my body move but it refuses to budge. More panic is setting in and I can feel how tears are forming in my eyes threatening to fall down. That's when I see a pair of big glowing blue eyes behind the waterfall, staring right at me, and it feels like they can see into my soul, like they are looking for something.  With that I woke up in a jolt and burst into tears…
