AFTER THE UNEXPECTED REACTIONS I’d gotten, I felt a little better for a short while, but then I started obsessing over my crimes. I had honestly expected it to be like the movies, everyone around me condemning the wild beast I’d become. Calling me a monster, a killer, something awful. Instead they tried to rationalize my options and convince me my only other way out was to allow them to continue to kill and rape innocent women while trying to find ways to point the police in their direction without ever getting caught in the investigation. With no bodies and no probable cause, no one would have been able to get to them fast enough.
