Chapter 5 Red Isn't Your Color

1071 Words
Olivia ruthlessly hung up the phone. As the "beep beep" tone echoed in his ears, William's face turned ashen and an inexplicable unease gripped his heart. Olivia used to be so gentle and compliant towards him, and now she just hung up on him? How did she become a completely different person after the divorce? Recalling her remark, "You're overestimating yourself", he felt a sharp discomfort, like being pricked by needles. When he saw that photo, doubt crept into his mind. It was obviously taken from Grace's perspective, but he thought Olivia must have coerced Grace into getting it somehow. However, judging from Olivia's tone on the call, he noticed that the photo was clearly sent to her by Grace! Had he really misunderstood Olivia? He handed the phone back to Henry, frowning. "Tell Grace to come here." When Grace received the notice from Henry, she was secretly thrilled and took extra care in dressing up. However, just as she walked in, a cold voice dampened her excitement entirely. William came straight to the point. "Did you send the photo to Olivia?" Grace felt a chill in her heart when she saw William's cold eyes and instinctively wanted to deny it. "No, I didn't. Olivia is slandering me!" William clicked on the photo and put it in front of her. "You took this photo." Although he was asking, his tone was affirmative. Grace trembled when she saw the photo trending online. How could this photo be posted and cause such a great impact? She immediately panicked and collapsed into her seat. "Yes... I'm sorry, William. I accidentally took it. I never thought things would turn out like this..." After sneakily taking that photo that day, she took William's phone when he was about to change his clothes. She didn't expect him to have the same password for so many years, so she secretly sent the photo to Olivia and deleted the record. As Grace expected, seeing that photo, Olivia was so agitated that she immediately filed for divorce! When William saw her expression, he quickly understood what was going on. His face suddenly darkened. "Don't ever do something so pointless again, and cancel the partnership with Zoeson". "No... Please, William, don't cancel the partnership. It was all my fault." Zoeson was her father's company and had always collaborated with Myriads. If the partnership was canceled, her family would directly lose tens of millions of dollars. Grace pushed her ample chest towards William and said softly, "Think it over, William. Don't cancel the partnership." As she got closer, a strong smell of perfume overwhelmed William, making him frown. Instinctively, he reached out and pushed her away. For some reason, he suddenly recalled seeing Olivia at the courthouse entrance that day. The same red dress looked stunning on Olivia, making her impossible to ignore, but on Grace, it just seemed tacky. Suddenly, he said, "Red isn't your color." "William, didn't you say that I look great in red?" Grace felt extremely embarrassed. He used to love how she looked in red. Why did he suddenly change his mind? Seeing Grace trying to rub against him, William stopped her. "Get out!" Grace was half-dragged out of the office by Henry, and the door slammed shut in front of her. She glared at the closed door with hatred, her face twisted in malice. Olivia and William were already divorced. Why was he still protecting her? William was annoyed by the constantly trending topic. The stock price kept falling, and if the negative news wasn't stopped, even his company's image would be affected. He suddenly received a message from his good friend, Shane Morris. William was going to toss his phone aside and ignore Shane, but he paused when he saw the message. "Your ex-wife is having a singles party at the bar, Night Banquet. Would you like to check it out?" There was also a video attached. Olivia wore a red dress, swaying gracefully in the middle of the dance floor. The tight gown accentuated her alluring figure. Her long blonde hair cascaded down her back, just reaching her waist, and swung with every twist of her body. William's eyes darkened intensely as his Adam's apple bobbed unconsciously. A sense of heat spread through his body. She was completely different after the divorce! After a moment of silence, William picked up his phone and replied. "Wait for me." ***** At Night Banquet, Olivia sipped her cocktail lightly, her presence both cool and stunning. Eunice noticed a man in the corner sneaking glances at them. "Isn't that William's friend, Shane?" she asked. Olivia raised an eyebrow. It seemed he was waiting to see her break down in tears after the divorce. Suddenly, a surge of anger rose within Olivia. During their three years of marriage, these people had always treated her as a joke. Now that she was divorced, she wanted them to see that she didn't need William to survive. She took a quick sip of her drink and stood up. "Do you want to dance?" Eunice shook her head. "I'd rather not." She was a top-tier celebrity after all. Dancing provocatively in a bar would make headlines tomorrow. Olivia ignored her and went straight to the stage. The lights on the stage were colorful. Olivia's long, slender legs wrapped around the steel pole as if she had no bones. Her body climbed like a snake, exuding a graceful blend of power and lightness. When she reached the emotional peak of her dance, she threw her head back, her seaweed-like golden hair flicking through the lights, revealing her dazzlingly seductive face. She slightly parted her red lips and breathed gently while her blue eyes reflected a lazy sensuality, but deep within, they were cold and sharp. She was like an alert little wildcat. Somehow, everyone around her had stopped dancing, and all eyes were on her. The woman's body glistened with a light sheen of sweat, giving off a dazzling glow under the lights, exuding a primal allure. Olivia finished her dance by climbing the pole and then gracefully leaped to the ground. The red dress billowed and settled, highlighting her radiant and captivating face. Deafening screams and cheers erupted all around, sending the whole place into a frenzy. "Ah! My goddess!" "Oh! I haven't seen enough! Why did it end so soon?" "Goddess, one more!" "Goddess!" William didn't hide the amazement in his eyes...
