Job hunting

When morning came Emily woke up and started getting ready for work. Before she left, she went to Jim's room to say goodbye.

Jim was still asleep when Emily came in. " Morning, Cub. See you later." she kissed him on the forehead. She didn't feel anything wrong with it as they both got used to it and considered it normal.

Jim opened his eyes half way and said " mmh morning." then he closed his eyes fully again.

An hour later Jim woke up and it was 9:30 already. He dragged himself to the bathroom to brush his teeth. When he came out he went to the kitchen and made himself breakfast. After that he washed the dishes he used. When he was done he went to take a shower.

In the shower, he opens the water and took off his towel that was wrapped around his waist. The warm water ran down his face then down to his muscular body. He closed his eyes and thought about Lou. He really wanted to talk to him about the company but he just didn't have the courage to be able to speak to him. When Emily appeared in his mind he closed his eyes tight and calls her name three times before rubbing his body with the bathing sponge.

10 minutes later he came out and went to his closet to choose what to wear. He picks out a plain white t-shirt and black pants. He puts them on and goes to the mirror to take a look how he looks like. He was surprised by the way he looked. He looked like a 17 year old teenager.

He grabs his phone and headed out on the streets. On the road he didn't know which job he should do as back in country L, he only worked with his computer. He never did any hand job. When he saw the grocery store that was opened, he decided to try there.

When he enters the store he went straight to the woman that was on the counter.

" Hello, how are you ma'am?" he voice was kind.

The woman looked at him from bottom to top before asking him what he wants.

" uhm can I see your manager?"

" He's busy. What do you want? " Her attitude was rude which made Jim turned cold.

" I would like to see him." his voice was coldly demanding which made the woman get a sudden fear.

" I ... I told y-you that he is busy and he's not here at the store." the was fear in her voice.

Jim decided to just let her and go to find a job somewhere else. He walks to a bar but then he changes his mind and got out. He was walking from almost an hour now and he was already tired. He didn't think that looking for a job will be this hard. He decided to go into a restaurant that was opened on the other side of the road.

When he enters he saw a "WE ARE HIRING " poster on the wall. The manager was standing behind the counter when he saw a young man walks in. He felt like he has seen him before but doesn't remember where. He quickly went to him and was about to show him his table when he refused and said he was looking for a job. The manager then thought for a moment before saying " you're hired"

The restaurant was packed today so he needed to hire more people to help him out. He didn't hesitate on hiring.

" is it okay for you to start immediately?" He was really hoping for him to start right away before more and more people start to come in.

Hearing the question he smiled and nodded. The manager took him to the back and gave him his uniform to put in. When he was done he went to the front to see the manager. When the manager

saw him he gave him a small notepad to write his orders. Jim has never done this before and he was kinda bit nervous. The manager saw his nervousness and told him it was going to be fine, he just need to trust himself.

The manager pointed for him to go to the last table to take orders. Jim took a deep breath before walking up to them. When he got to the table he tried to hide his nervous and greeted.

" Afternoon ladies, what can I get you today?"

The two teenage girls looked at each other in smiling surprisedly.

girl one said " Afternoon, Do you just started working here?" she seducily bit her lower lip.

" Uhm yeah I just started like now." he smiled embarrassingly revealing his dimples.

" I will just have an orange juice, since you made thirsty."

Jim tried to his best to ignore her and turned to the other girl who was staring at him without blinking.

" what about you?"

The second girl was amazed. She had never seen a man as handsome as him. She couldn't take her eyes off him.

Girl two was still daydreaming when Jim turned to her. He asks her again and this time she came back into her senses.

" oh I'll...mhm..." she looked at the menu and ordered a slice of pizza.

" alright your order will soon come." he wrote down everything and quickly leaves their table and went to the manager who was watching him attentively.

" I told you that it will be easy." he said taking the order from him and placed it on the counter.

After his shift was over, his manager gave him his time table shifts for this week and next week. He told him he will be payed $35 per hour. Jim agreed and left.

When he got home he was so tired that he didn't even want to eat. When he enters the house Emily was busy cooking in the kitchen. He walked up to her slowly. Emily noticed that he was tired and guessed that he got a job.

" Hi Em." he said lazily.

". hey you're back. I assume that you have been working and you're tired. Quickly go and take a shower while make dinner." she smiled and turned back to what she was doing.

" I don't think I'll eat. I'll just take a quick shower and go to sleep." he said walking to his room.

" After you're done taking a shower you better come back and eat!" Emily shouted from the kitchen.

Jim came out of the shower 15 minutes later and he got dressed and falls in his bed. He fell asleep right after. Emily sees that he was taking a lot of time coming out of the shower and decided to bring him food into his room. Surprisingly when she opens the door, she found him on the bed sleeping.

She wakes him up and forced him to eat. Jim was too tired to even lift his finger. He was not used to working hard like he did using his body and legs. He only worked with his fingers. Emily saw how tired he was and decided to feed him. Jim was secretly happy in his heart.
