The missing CEO

At the hospital

In the car, Jim was badly injured. There was blood everywhere in the car and he thought he was going to die. A moment later he got unconscious.

Emily was on her way home to city X after she was fired from her job. When she was driving she saw a car next to the road that was crushed in the front. At first she didn't pay attention and passed it. But something told her to go back.

she stopped the car for a moment and looked back. She then decided to reverse the car. When she reached to the other car she was shocked and couldn't believe what she was seeing.

She got out of her car with her phone in her hand. When she checked to see if there was anyone in the car, she got scared and immediately called an ambulance after seeing an unconscious person inside the car.

While waiting for the ambulance, Emily needed to get the person out of the car. Looking at the door that was damaged, she struggled to open it.

Emily tried to open the door several times but still she couldn't. She even though of giving up and wait for the ambulance to come. when she tried for the last time it finally opened.

Getting the person out was harder than opening the door. With difficulty she managed to take the person out of the car.

When she saw how badly injured was the person, she didn't think this person was going to make it.

30 minutes later the ambulance arrived and took them to the hospital.

When they arrived, they rushed Jim to the operating room. Emily was traumatized by the condition the person was.

In the hospital, the police came and took Emily to the station for some questions before they could start their investigation. Emily couldn't believe that this day will end up like this.

When she got out of the police station she went to the hospital feeling tired. It was already 4 am in the morning.

When she got to the hospital, she went to the cafe to get some coffee to refresh her up. She sat at the waiting room and played on her phone. When the doctor came out of the operation room she stood up quickly and asked if the person was alright.

The doctor's face wasn't happy at all. He stood there helplessly before saying...

" I'm sorry young miss. The patient lost a lot of blood and he was in a critical condition."

For the first time Emily had never cried before for a stranger, but today she did. When the doctor saw her cry he felt bad.

" I'm sorry for your loss Miss. I'm sure he was a good husband." the doctor said tapping her shoulder.

Upon hearing the doctor referring the patient as her husband she felt even more sad.

"Is anything you can do, doctor?" she asked whipping away her tears.

"I'm afraid not, miss."

Emily still couldn't believe it.

"you can come and see him after he is moved to the other room."

"Okay. Thank you." Emily said in between her sobs.

When Jim was moved to another room Emily came to see him.

After standing outside of the room for a long time, she finally came in.

When she walked to his bedside she still couldn't believe that this happened. When she looked at the person who his eyes were closed with a bandage cover his head,she felt sorry for him.

she sat down and caressed his face. She found him handsome, his perfect lips that weren't too thin nor too big. His long lashes and perfect nose. Emily imagined how he would look like is he smiled.

Emily touched his hand without realizing it. After some unknown time she fell asleep while holding his hand.

a few hours passed

Emily was half awake and half asleep. She felt something warm and soft moving in her hand, at first she thought she was probably dreaming. But when the movement kept going she woke up and looked at her hand.

When she saw the patient's hand moving she froze and didn't know what to do. There was a lot of things going on in her mind before realizing that she needs to call for help.

Luckily was on the door way when Emily was about to rush out.

"Doctor! Look, his hand is moving."

Emily said pulling the doctor to the bedside.

The doctor was shocked. How is it possible for the patient he confirmed dead a couple of hours ago be alive. He quickly examine him making sure he wasn't seeing things.

The doctor was surprised when he confirmed that he was fine.

"Well his heart is beating normal but we have to run some few tests before confirming he is fine now." The doctor said.

Emily was speechless and didn't know what to do.

"I'll be right back shortly along with some nurses to run the tests. In mean time go home and and get some rest." the doctor went out.

Emily followed the doctor's instructions and went to a hotel near by and booked a room.

*** At the Johnson's mansion ***

Everyone was at the dinner table except for Jim. He was the only one absent.

Mr Johnson asked Anna since she was his fiance.

" Anna where is Jim?"

Anna didn't know what to say. She didn't want to tell them that she was caught cheating with his brother and he went off. Daniel noticed that she was struggling to speak so he helped her

" He's probably at his company working. You know how he loves to work." Daniel said casually.

" I called him and his phone is off." Mr Johnson was worried about him. Jim always takes his call.

"And?..." Daniel asked trying to get his point

"I think something bad must have happened to him."

Daniel thought his father was just overthinking in.

"Dad, he's a grown up. He knows how to take care of himself." Daniel said putting the last bite of the sandwich inside his mouth.

*** at the hotel ***

Emily went to take a shower before ordering food for Jim. She texted her mom and told her that she isn't coming home today.

After leaving the hotel she drove straight to the hospital. When she arrived the doctor told her that Jim needed some blood since he has lost a lot of blood. Emily agreed to donate some of her blood to him. Luckily when she went for a testing, she found out that she was a match to his blood type.

After they finish the process the doctor told Emily that he was going to be okay now. Emily was happy and went to his room to check up on him.

When she got there he's eyes were still closed. Walking to his side slowly, Jim felt a presence of someone and looked at her direction.

Seeing him looking at her got Emily frightened. She then recovered from her fright and continued walking towards him...
