When she reached to him, his face didn't show any expression at all. That made Emily a little curious. She tried speaking to him but he gave no response. His eyes were empty and glued to the ceiling.

Emily tried talking to him but he would just look at her for a second before staring at the ceiling. Emily felt something strange in him and went to the doctor.

When she got to the doctor's office, the doctor told her that he was looking at some of his tests he made and found out that he had a brain damage. Emily was shocked.

" What does that suppose to mean?" Emily asked in disbelief.

" He may have lost his memory and it can be difficult for him to be able to speak or walk."

Emily couldn't believe what she was hearing.

"Can you at least do something... A surgery or... " Emily got emotional and couldn't continue.

" Well we could try but I don't think it's going to make any difference, and it can cost you." The doctor was trying his best to help her.

" How much?" Emily asked without hesitation.

" At least $20 000 to$ 50 000. Depending on how bad his brain was damaged. And it might be risky in his condition."

Emily didn't know what to do. She lost her job and didn't know where she's going to get that kind of money. She scratched her head helplessly.

" You can take him home if you cannot afford the surgery, I'm sure he will slowly recover. "

" Can I keep him in the hospital for a little while? I want to see how I'm going to get some cash." Emily was hoping he could stay here for awhile so that she can find a job to pay for his surgery.

" I'm afraid the hospital is gonna charge you for the stay." the doctor got and left for another appointment.

" I'm sorry that you have to go through this, Miss" the doctor said leaving her alone.

*** few days later***

Emily decided to take Jim home and take care of him. Today she was busy cleaning her new apartment. After she finished cleaning, she made dinner and went to the hospital to pick him up.

After picking him up at the hospital she took an Uber and went straight home. When they arrived at her apartment, it was difficult for Emily to get him to her apartment with the use of the stairs. Because the elevator was broken and the landlord said it might took him a few weeks before finding people to fix it.

When Emily reached to her apartment, she was tired and was already sweating. She helped Jim to sit down at the table and warmed up their food.

***at the Johnson's mansion***

Mr Johnson and his wife were outside the garden watch the lovely scene.

"I don't know what Jim is been doing these days for not taking my calls." The was a bit of worry in his voice.

Mrs Johnson's face immediately turned gloomy after hearing him mention Jim. She didn't like him at all and didn't treat him the same way she treated Daniel and Bianca. Jim was just her stepson and didn't care about him at all.

" I'm sure he's busy with work." Mrs Johnson said trying to change the topic.

Before Mr Johnson could speak a servant came by and gave him his business phone.

"Hello?"

" Oh hello Mr Johnson"

It turns out that the call was from one of his biggest client who Jim was supposed to take care of. Mr Johnson wondered why he called.

" What a surprise getting your call."

" What is going on Mr Johnson? Aren't we suppose to sign the contract today?"

Mr Johnson was confused by this question.

" What do you mean? My son Jim was suppose to take care of the contract and he told me that he was signing in today."

"Well he didn't show up " the man sounded a bit arrogant.

Mr Johnson was shocked. Jim told him four days ago that he was signing the contract today. What is he talking about?

" Mr Johnson, I didn't think someone like you could waste my time. Anyway I was thinking of calling off the deal."the voice was frustrated this time.

" No no. It's okay how about we meet tomorrow and settle this down?"

" You better be there. This is your last chance and I was looking forward working with you, Mr Johnson.?" this time the voice was a little pleased.

" I will meet you tomorrow personally and I'll send you the address to your email."

"Good night Mr Johnson. have a great night."

" Thank you, you too."

After hanging up the call, Mr Johnson didn't know wether to be angry or sad about this matter. He angrily dialed Jim's number, But it went straight to voicemail.

Seeing the drop of his mood, Mr Johnson asked out of curiosity what happened. Mr Johnson explained what the call was about and out of range he took his keys and was about to go to Jim's Villa, but his wife stopped him.

When he went to his office he called his company to ask about Jim. Surprisingly Jim hadn't been coming to work for the past four days. Hearing this it didn't make any sense at all. He planned to go to his Villa first thing in the morning so he could give him a clear explanation about why he hasn't been coming to his company.

*** Emily's apartment ***

When Emily started eating she noticed that Jim hasn't touched his food yet. Then she realized that she needs to feed because of his current condition.

She picked up his fork fed him. At first she didn't feel comfortable about feeding a grown man like a child but the got used to it. Jim obediently opened his mouth.

After dinner she helped him to bed. When she saw that he was closing his eyes, she chose a book from the shelf and read it to him, to help him fall asleep.

15 minutes later he fell asleep and Emily went to the bathroom to freshen up. After coming out of the bathroom she wore her pyjamas and picked up her cellphone and sat on the sofa where she would be sleeping. The was only one bedroom in the house so Emily had no choice but to sleep in the couch.

After making herself comfortable in the couch she went to the socials to check out if there was any news about the accident. To her surprise there was no information about accident or the investigation. Emily felt strange about it.

Didn't the police officers said they were going to investigate and try to reach his family and inform her about the case? It has been four days and no one is informing her and the accident was not even in the news. Emily was now very confused. It's like they don't want anyone to find out about this.

Emily decided to go to the police in the morning so she could know what is going on...
