The soft, golden rays of the morning sun filtered through my window, gently kissing my face and pulling me out of sleep. I blinked a few times, taking in the familiar ceiling above me. It felt like any other morning, except the weight in my chest, the lingering sense of unease that had been building for days, was still there. I swung my legs over the side of the bed, feeling the cool touch of the floor against my feet as I stood up.
