“That wasn't what we discussed Leonardo?” Alpha Rapheal roars, his voice echoing in the silence of the chamber.
“There's been a change of plan. I want her now. “ The other Alpha says in a calm tone that didn't fail to leave an edge to it.
“You can't suddenly decide to change the deal like that. This was an agre–”
“An agreement I'd like to change.” He interrupts. “What's the fuss about Raph? You are planning to kill her aren't you? “
Alpha Rapheal face twists, his blue eyes flicker to mine for a slight moment. “ She is cursed.”
The room goes silent as Alpha Leo's eyes flicker back to me.
His eyes darken. “ Cursed?”
“She carried the wolf of a Vartex.” Alpha Raphs turns his eyes away from mine. “ She must be killed.”
Another wave of tears trail down from my cheeks. I didn't wish to be cursed but even my very own mate treated me like I was an abomination that chose her own fate.
Alpha Leo face twists, a smudge smile playing on his face. “ And what if I told you I didn't have a problem with it?”
My eyes widen and so does my mate. I have the blood of century curse and he claimed to not have a problem with it.
“How about this?’ The man smirks at my mate. “I-
“We’ve already agreed on the terms. “ He interrupts again.
“Well, I'm adding another to it. The girl comes with me and the war remains locked at bay.”
I didn't understand why he would suddenly want me. What could someone like him possibly do with me ? Even my father couldn't look at me, so why me ?
“She is a member of my pack, under my territory and I keep her if I want.” Alpha Rapheal mutters through his clenched teeth. His palm forming a fist.
“But yet, you are at the point of killing her, feeding her to the werebeast and leaving her remains for the flies that perch at night.” He arched a brow “ Or am I wrong?”
I could feel my heart squeeze at his words. At the end of their banter, I would still be taken away and killed like an animal, completely meaningless.
Alpha Rapheal hisses, “You can't decide to change the arrangement all of sudden Leonardo.”
“So I assume you want the storm to keep brewing, Alpha Rapheal? You don't want to seal the truce then?”
Alpha Rapheal jaw tightens as his face shifts into an unreadable expression. He was going to have me killed so why was he unwilling to let me go?
“What's it going to be, Alpha Rapheal, Deal or no deal?“
Alpha Leo's tone is clipped as he continues. If his pack was really the one that'd been in decade-long rivalry with ours then it was no doubt that his force was much stronger than ours.
Alpha Rapheal looks at him for another moment before he finally mutters. “Deal.”
Alpha Leo gives a little smile, “Great. I'll be here first thing tomorrow with the contract documents.”
“Contract documents?”
“Of course, I didn't come here for chitchat, I'll have your signature just to make sure you don't meddle and demand her back. “ He winks.
His face gleams with mere playfulness, another smirk tugging at his lips. Did he take this as another joke?
“From tomorrow henceforth she's no longer a member of your pack and if I arrive and she's gone or if she has another mark on her body…”He pauses, his eyes darken with something calculating and dangerous. “ then I wouldn't hesitate to wipe out your entire tribe and generations after that.”
His words are low but void of mere blabbing and empty treats, his eyes return to its usual calmness before returning his gaze to me.
His eyes fix back at Alpha Raphael as if daring him to go against him and then he turns exiting the room but slamming the door behind him.
I jolt at the sudden violence.
My eyes travel back to Rapheal who now has his back to me. My arm trembles, shaking with incredible pain from all the wounds, pain coursing back into my veins. My eyes blur together as I look at Rapheal figure still turned to me. My eyes close together, before my body collapses to the ground, everything going dark.

The moment I open my eyes, the space welcomes with darkness. The wall floor is metallic and cold and soon I realize I'm trapped in a cage– not the regular kind for traitor wolf or prison but one used to seal wild beasts. I'm unable to see anything from the outside. The box is suffocating and my breath stop in my throat when I hear muffled noises
“The Alpha strictly ordered we take her to her chambers.” A voice says.
“If you expect me to leave this beast on the same roof as mine then you are wrong. She has to die.”
My breath hitch at the sudden words, I press at the cafe hitting it with the last bit of strength I have left.
“Please, I won't shift again I promise.” I cry out, praying someone saves me.
Their voices go silent for a while before I feel the cage being carried.
“Don't kill it! “ The same voice from earlier says. “Alpha Rapheal will be furious if he finds out.“
“I'm only doing what's best for everyone. We'd leave her here to be devoured by the werebeast. “
Werebeast?
The voice sounds oddly familiar and then it dawns on me. The same voice that slapped me previously.
I closed my eyes waiting for the impact, a part of me had a little hope earlier but what could I expect. I was a foul beast disowned by the pack and rejected by her own mate. I was cursed.
The night suddenly goes quiet and the whispers from the men quiet down. The next second one of the men scream from the outside, my pulse races and my mouth runs dry.
Were the werebeast already out ?
Screamed from the men came followed by a low growl. My pulse quickens.
The cage door flies open and my eyes crash into a familiar golden-brown ones.
“Alpha Leonardo?”
