Prologue
Theletyia Husernien.
A noble lady destined for a tragic end.
Desperate for the love and recognition of her father, she committed countless unforgivable acts. She also devoted herself to winning the affection of Maximilliam Ludwig, the male lead of the story. But after attempting to kill the heroine, Roveria, her own father and Maximilliam sentenced her to death.
When I finished reading that part of the novel, I couldn't accept her ending.
I felt sorry for Theletyia.
All she ever wanted was the love her father had never given her.
I cried for hours before exhaustion finally pulled me to sleep.
When I opened my eyes again...
I was no longer in my bedroom.
"...Where am I?"
The room surrounding me was unfamiliar, lavish, and far too luxurious to belong to an ordinary person.
Did I... die?
"Lady Theletyia is awake!"
Several maids rushed into the room in a panic, their worried voices echoing through the spacious chamber.
Theletyia?
My heart skipped a beat.
Ignoring the maids, I hurried toward the large standing mirror.
Long sapphire-blue hair cascaded over my shoulders. Crimson eyes stared back at me beneath long lashes, while flawless porcelain skin and delicate features completed the face I'd admired countless times through words on a page.
"...This is Theletyia?"
I blinked at my reflection.
She's unbelievably beautiful.
"My Lady, please don't stand up just yet!"
One of the maids hurried to my side, trying to support me before I could lose my balance.
I turned to her.
"...Who are you?"
The question froze her in place.
"My Lady... it's me. Lia."
Her eyes widened with concern.
"Don't you remember me?"
Lia...
One of Theletyia's personal maids.
In the novel, she remained loyal until the very end, even taking the blame for orders Theletyia had forced upon her.
She was someone I could trust.
"Oh... I was just startled after waking up."
A sigh of relief escaped her lips.
"I'm glad to hear that."
She gently guided me back to the enormous bed.
This thing is huge...
It was softer than any mattress I'd ever slept on.
So this is what being rich feels like...
Before I could admire my surroundings any further, the bedroom door opened.
An elderly man entered first, carrying a wooden box.
Behind him walked a tall man with neatly combed blue hair and sharp black eyes.
Then another followed.
White hair.
Golden eyes.
Perfect features.
A face so handsome it looked almost unreal.
He could've been a celebrity in my previous life.
"Theletyia."
The cold voice of the blue-haired man instantly sent a chill down my spine.
There was no mistaking him.
Duke Husernien.
Theletyia's father.
"You deserved what happened."
The white-haired man looked at me with nothing but disgust.
"That's the price you pay for trying to harm Roveria."
I stared at him in disbelief.
...Seriously?
I take it back.
He's not handsome.
He's an asshole.
So this is Maximilliam Ludwig... the male lead?
What a jerk.
