(Astrid POV)
I groaned at the unbearable pain in my head.
“Astrid! Oh, thank god! Your awake” I heard a familiar voice but I just wanted him to stop shouting.
The noise is just increasing my pain.
“Shut up...” I groaned as I opened my eyes.
I was welcomed by a dull hanging bulb light.
“Astrid” the voice rose again and I looked at my left and gasped.
“Dave!” I shouted as I took in his appearance.
His lips were bruised and there was dry blood stuck to his forehead. He was tied to a chair and so was I.
“Oh god. You have no idea how glad I am to see you awake” he said as I looked at him with guilt.
“Are you alright?” I asked as he smiled and nodded.
“I am. But I think we are kidnapped. Those guys had guns when they came in the last time. They questioned who I am to you and all before going out. Do you perhaps… well, know them?” He asked as I looked at him with guilt.
“I’m sorry you got into this mess,” I said as he sighed.
“So you do know them? A part of me really wish you didn’t,” he said as I frowned.
“I don’t know who they are. But I do know the reason as to why I am here.” I said as he stared at me in worry.
“What is it?” he said his voice filled with eagerness.
“Moore,” I said my heart feeling heavy.
He looked at me with confusion as I sighed.
I was going to reply when the door banged open.
“Well, well well. Look who finally decided to wake up” A man in a black suit said as I glared at him.
He had brown hair and by the millions of silver rings decorating his hand I can say he must be some rich mob g**g leader.
He bends his body, his face very close to mine.
“You’re lucky you woke up before I came. I was going to wake you up in my way” he said and I said nothing but glare.
“Do you know why you are here?” he asked but I stared silently.
A slap sound resonated in the room as I hissed in pain for my cheek.
“Respond when I ask, b***h!” he said painfully grabbing my hair.
“You are ridiculously foolish to take revenge on someone long dead,” I said as he laughed and slapped me again.
A metallic taste filled my mouth and I wanted to desperately spit it out.
“Well then I guess you are indirectly telling me I’m not foolish,” he said as I looked at him confused.
“You will see, beautiful,” he said as I mentally gagged at the nickname.
“Let's get this done.” He said as he snapped his finger at the man next to me.
Immediately I was blinded by a black cloth.
“Hey! Where are you taking her!?” Dave asked as I heard shuffling.
“Cover the lover boys’ mouth. I want my negotiations to be done without any background disturbance” he said laughing.
A lot of shuffling could be heard.
I kept my guard up as I felt the men untied me.
I didn’t struggle as the men pulled me from the chair, only to push me to my knees.
He tied my hand tightly behind as I hissed in pain.
“Let's begin,” the man said.
A series of phone rings resonated through the room before it was picked up.
“Hello, the office of Moore,” a deep voice said as I tensed.
“Good evening, Sir. My name is Vincent, most commonly known as Black. I’d like to speak to your boss Mr. Moore” the man, Vincent said.
“I don’t know who Vincent is or most commonly known Black is, but I am sure there is no appointment for you on the list. Mr. Moore is busy in a meeting” he said before the phone ended.
“Bullshit. Even his assistant is an arrogant asshole.” He cursed before I heard footsteps coming to me.
A slap echoed once again as I cried in pain.
“I know. Prepare the camera for a video call.” He said as I tensed.
Lots of shuffling could be heard before I was dragged to the center.
“Urgh” I groan at the pain from my scraped knees. I could hear Dave’s muffled voice too.
Once again the phone ring echoed through the room before a man picks up.
“A video call Mr. Vincent. We don’t want to see your face” the same voice echoed as the call was picked up.
“But I have something that will perk your interest,” he said.
Suddenly the man behind me pulled my hair backward as I screamed in pain.
“s**t!” the guy in the phone cursed followed by running footsteps.
“Lance! Where are you running!” another man’s voice rose.
“Boss! Get the boss!” the man, Lance said.
“Boss! You have to see this!” Lance said with the sound of the door opening.
“What is it?” a deep familiar voice rose making me tense.
No way… Did I just… hear his voice?
“Let me connect to the presentation,” he said followed by a series of shuffling.
“Who are you?” the same familiar voice said making my heart beat more and more fast.
It can’t be true… My mind is playing games!
“My name is Vincent and I have something very precious of yours,” he said as the man behind me untied my eyes.
I groaned as I closed my eyes in pain.
I slowly opened them as I looked at Vincent and glared before moving my face to the screen.
My breath hitched and I felt the world around me crumble.
My eyes widened as I gasped at the man in front of me.
No… No… Why is he in front of me? Why?
“You should be dead,” I said shocked as he smirked.
“I don’t die easily, princess”.
