Chapter 8

My father looked at me for awhile and said,"yes, you are right and that was very thoughtful of you to congratulate him. I came here as I wanted to talk to you about making some designs for some client."

I said,"ok."

My father took a seat across from me. By this time, Abhay has excused himself. My father looked at me and said,"Is there something going on between Abhay and you that I should know of?"

I looked at him and finally said,"No, dad. There is nothing between us."

He was looking at me as if he was going to say something but he didn't. He talked about some designs and left around 4 pm. I saw it was time to close. So, I packed my things and locked the cabin. As I was leaving the office, I saw Abhay leaning on his car looking at something on his phone. As he looked up and saw me, He smiled and waved. But, I walked in the other direction. As I was walking on my way home, suddenly someone grabbed my hand and pulled me into a dark alley. I tried to scream but the person had his hand on my mouth and pushed me to a nearby wall nearly trapping me.

I tried escaping but when I saw it was Abhay. I froze. I looked at our close proximity and shivered. His one hand was on my waist and I could feel his warm breath tickling on my face. I looked at him and raised an eyebrow. He looked down at the closeness but ignored it and said," why are you ignoring me? have I done something wrong?"

I studied his eyes for a while and said," you know quite well, why i am ignoring you. You don't need to ask me."

He looked at me confusingly and said," what are you talking about?"

I saw the sincerity in his eyes but ignoring it I shouted," Don't pretend, I had left so many messages on your phone but you didn't even bother to reply atleast once. I bet you didn't even glance at them. you never even tried saying in contact with me and you just erased me from your life. Wait, let me reply from your side. No, it was no all the time and still is."

By now I had tears brimming from the sides of my eyes. He opened his mouth to say something but then closed it when he had nothing to say. I coldly said,"exactly."

I pushed him with all my strength and began running from there, not even bothering to glance back. He didn't even think of following me.
