I Missed You

{Clara’s POV} He nodded, pulling the monitors off of me, and lifting me into his arms. “Let’s go home Clara.” He said softly, taking me away from the mansion. Soon we were pulling into the driveway of a beautiful house. It was much smaller than Viktor’s but had so much more charm. “It’s beautiful!” I smiled, staring at it as we stepped out of the car. “Let dad know I’m not here yet Adrien.. and I’ll try to get better asap!” [Two Month Time Skip] I finally heeled up, besides a slight limp, they said that I would eventually heal up the rest of the way, it’s only that my left leg feels weak now. Adrien and I have fallen into a rhythm, during this time Daniella and Dimitri come over most nights for movies, food, and drinks, it’s been a blast. Daniella told me that they’ve asked Viktor to come along but he always seems to have an excuse. Today though, today is the day that I finally get to see my father. No more broken bones, no more bruises, and no more cuts to keep me away. I’m ready, and I’m so excited. I woke up early this morning, deciding to make bacon , toast, and eggs for Adrien and I, along with a pot of coffee. Soon I saw him groggily making his way down the staircase. He sat at the island and smiled over to me. “Morning Bean.” He said, rubbing his eyes. “Good morning Ducky!” I smiled back, sliding his plate over to him, and handing him his cup of coffee. “You’re in an unusually good mood this morning, you’ve been moping around here for a while.” He chuckled. “Of course I am! We get to go see dad today!” I said, taking a big bite of my food. “So hurry up and eat breakfast so we can go!” I said, taking another big bite. I scarfed down my food, cleaning the plates and glasses before rushing to my room. Due to my limp, I’ve still been using the cane that Viktor gave me. I got to my room and pulled out a white dress. It was simple, but elegant, I pulled it on, along with a pair of white flats, and a pale pink cardigan. I grabbed my pony tail holder and pulley my hair up into a light pony, tying a matching pink bow around the pony tail holder. I smiled at myself in the mirror, before turning and making my way back downstairs. “I’m ready!” I yelled out loudly, seeing that Adrien was nowhere to be seen. Soon I heard his footsteps coming down the stairs once again. He was dressed in a white button up shirt, and a black vest, along with black slacks and dress shoes. He smiled at me as he ran his fingers through his hair loosely styling it back. “Alright, I’m here, let’s get going, I’m sure dad is just as excited to see you too.” He smiled, grabbing his wallet, phone, and keys and walking out the door. I followed behind him, and he shut and locked it before we got into the car. The car ride there wasn’t long, but it was quiet, I wasn’t sure what to say, so I’d been trying to mentally prepare what I’d say to dad. I missed him so much, and of course we’ve texted and called, but this is different. I actually get to see my father, to hug him, to tell him how much I missed and love him. Once we made it to the hospital, Adrien led me into the elevator, and we went up to the top floor. When we walked out I could see that this place was high end. I kept wondering how they could afford this.. but knowing that Adrien is a cleaner, he probably makes a lot more money than I thought. He has a beautiful home, one that looks much to rich for what I know he brings in legally. He led me down a hallway, and slowly opened a door walking in. I could see the room was more of a suite. There was a small kitchen, a bathroom, a living area, with a fold out couch. Then I saw him, dad was lying back in his hospital bed, and he was sleeping so soundly. “Poor guy probably didn’t sleep at all last night.” A nurse said as she walked past us leaving the room. I walked slowly to the bed, looking over the details of my father. He looked mostly the same, but his hair and beard has patches of grey, his face has some wrinkles now, and he’s lost so much weight. I grabbed his hand with both of mine, giving them a gentle squeeze. “Dad?” I whispered softly. He groaned, squinting his eyes before opening them and looking my way. He was in a daze, before he realized it was me. A huge smile washed over his face as he reached his other hand over and cupped my cheek. “There’s my beautiful girl, I missed you so much.” He said, tear beginning to brim in his eyes, and I couldn’t stop the ones that fell from mine, even if I wanted to. I laid against his chest and hugged him, allowing myself to cry. This moment, I’ve dreamt of it for years, but I didn’t know how much it would hurt. I could have had an amazing life with them, but mom took me away, and guarded me like I was something precious instead of treating me like her daughter. “I missed you dad, but don’t worry, I’m home now.” He kissed the top of my head and rubbed my back as I cried. “Yes.. you’re finally home.” He said, a choked sob escaping his throat. That’s when I knew, wholeheartedly that I was never going back to mom. I would be here for the rest of my life, with the family that truly loves me.
