Prologue
Lance POV
"Hey, Lance, good morning. I am glad you're early today," Mike, my best friend, greeted me as I entered the classroom.
I raised an eyebrow at him. "As if I am always late. Mom wakes me up on time."
"Oh, maybe you didn't go to the music building?" Mike teasingly pinched my arm.0
"Stop it! I did, but he's not there."
"And that explains why you came early today. I mean, if you saw him there, you would stay and watch him dreamily."
I scoffed at him.
"Mike, you are annoying." Then rolled my eyes because what he said was true.
I've got a big crush on a certain G12 student who's six years older than me. The first time I saw him, he bumped into me and asked where the music building was. Then he introduced himself. He is very friendly.
Since the music club building was just beside the freshman building, I passed by there one morning, and I saw him playing guitar while singing. I started adoring him. Not to mention his complete package aura. He is so handsome and masculine at his age. He has muscles in the right places. And he is very intimidating, but when he smiles, it will melt the heart of anyone.
"Hey, Lance. Stop daydreaming. Vincent will pass here. He's with Dark. I see them from here." Mike peeped on the window. I followed him too. And there, I saw the man who made my heartbeat erratic. He is so handsome in his long sleeve polo, plus the guitar he's holding added to his hotness.
Mike pulled me towards the door.
"Hey, i***t. Where are we going!" I snapped at him, taking my forearm because he was gripping it with force. But he clings to it.
"Come on, we will just greet them."
I just stand there—mesmerized by the man walking near us.
Unfortunately, my friend Dark noticed us.
"Hey, Lancie!" Dark approaches me, and he immediately drapes his arm on my shoulder. It has been his mannerism ever since.
"Hey, D-Dark." I can't talk straight. Damn, this is so embarrassing. I can feel my face getting hotter.
"Hi, Vincent and Dark! Good morning!"
Mike removes the arm of Dark. "Back off Darkness, he's my best friend."
Dark laughed at Mike. "He's my friend too!"
"Hello, Vincent!" Mike greeted Vincent again. I don't know what happened to this friend of mine. He's irritating.
He simply pushed me to Vincent's side.
My mouth agape at his boldness.
"Hello, Mike, Lance, good morning."
Vincent smiled at us. I swear he has a warm smile.
"Good morning too, Phi. Sorry about that." I looked at him before I glared at Mike. Then I keep my sight on the ground.
I hear him laugh a little, so I look up to him just to find out that he's also looking at me.
I lowered my eyes again and moved a little to keep my distance.
"Nong Dark, let's go. We need to prepare the band for our performance soon," Vincent said.
I looked at him again.
I saw him looking at me, so I looked away.
"Yes, we should go. Lancie, see you later for football practice?" Dark held my hand as he peed on my face since I looked anywhere but not to them.
This is so f**k up.
"Nong Lance, if you are free, you can watch later." Vincent suddenly said.
My eyes automatically found him in shock. I mean, I always watched him, but now he invited me.
"I always notice you in our every practice, so I thought you would like to watch."
He noticed me?
Oh my God!
I cleared my throat. "Maybe, I will see if I am free."
"Hmm, okay. It's up to you. We gotta go."
"Bye, Dark! Bye, Phi Vincent!" Mike waves at them. Seeing I had no plan to wave, he took my hand and made it wave too.
"Bye, Lancie!" Dark grins and waves his hand while walking backward. Then he turns to run after Vincent, who walks ahead of him.
I feel like I am nailed on the ground.
Is it so wrong?
I feel whipped.
"Mr. Velez, you are blocking the doorway."
I didn't notice our class instructor beside me.
I move to give way. "I'm sorry, ma'am."
I get inside our classroom and sit on my assigned seat.
"He got an invitation," Mike teased. He sat on his chair too.
I did not answer.
I spent the whole time glaring at my best friend as the instructor started to discuss our topic for today.
How did I ever get a best friend like him?
