"So you're Quintin Lacerna of Lacerna's clan?" I greeted the person in front of me now.
"And you must be Jade Fonacier, the sole heiress of Lord Roman," he immediately responded to me before giving me a seductive smile.
"Now that we already know each other, let's get straight to business," I responded bluntly, causing him to laugh softly.
"You seem to be in too much of a hurry, Miss Fonaci-" I didn't let him finish what he wanted to say when I instantly answered him, "It's true because all I want is a quick transaction."
"Alright, then let's get started." The smile on his lips could hardly be removed as he gently nodded to me in agreement.
I didn't waste any more time and showed him what he needed right away, "These are the high-powered firearms you are asking to buy from us."
"Woah...how fascinating!" he exclaimed the moment he saw and felt the pleasure of holding the guns.
"Now it's your turn, where is the money that we agreed on?" I immediately asked him as I folded my arms together.
I only got a nod from him before he finally showed me the total five money briefcases in their possession. In just a split second, they opened the briefcases at once to show me the money inside.
"Complete as what we agreed on," I heard Quintin says which put a little smirk on my lips.
"Get the money," I hastily ordered my men who were with me right now.
"Just a second..." Quintin interrupted causing my men to stop taking briefcases of money for a moment.
"Do you need anything else?" I asked him with my furrowed brows. After a while, I noticed that he was slowly approaching in front of me.
"Jade Fonacier, I want you to look into my eyes," Quintin commanded me calmly, making me frown slightly. However, just what he said I looked into his eyes and met his gaze that seemed to penetrate my soul.
"Listen carefully to what I'm going to tell you..." The time I heard those words from him, I just chose to remain silent and stared into his eyes intently.
"You will let us leave in peace with the things I need and also you will not take the money from us anymore," Quintin added causing me to be stunned for a second.
"What is he talking about? Tsk! Do I look like an Imbecile in this asshole?!" I blurted in my mind.
I was about to scold him when he suddenly opened his mouth again to speak, "Do you understand?" My eyes widened in shock as I gradually saw the change in the color of his eyes. From being black, the color of his eyes became a glowing red.
"V-vampire," I whispered.
I could barely make a single move as fear and anger engulfed me at the same time. I can't believe that I'm bound to find here a creature that I have been looking for a long time.
"Take all the guns and the money, let's get out of here right now!" I heard Quintin order his men. I noticed that they didn't seem to know anything about what Quintin had done so they had a look of surprise on their faces.
"N-no, they can't just leave like that," I whispered as I pulled myself together.
"Nobody's leaving!" I immediately stopped them when they were about to leave. Quintin, on the other hand, quickly turned his gaze to me with a look of utter shock and surprise on his face.
"H-how do you-"
"I know what you are monster!" I cut him off.
"Where are my parents?!" I asked him firmly.
"W-what are you talking about?!" Quintin asked me back.
"Tsk! Stop your f*****g lies, Vampire!" I scolded causing him to be stunned for a moment.
A split second later, I immediately frowned when I noticed something strange about his men. They all stopped moving as if they had become statues, even my men couldn't blink their eyes. I swallowed hard as time seemed to stop running in an instant.
"W-what did you do?!" I shouted.
"Hahaha!" I clenched my fist when I heard him laugh evilly.
"I didn't expect this from someone like you, Miss Jade." His lips were almost torn by the width of his smile.
"Now you have caught my attention even more," he added.
I must admit that I feel terrified of his presence. Everything that happened to me fifteen years ago seemed to come back.
"I have never failed to use eye hypnosis on mortals except from you, Miss Jade. How did that happen hu?" I couldn't help but swallow when he tried to come closer to me.
"D-don't you dare come near me or else I'll-"
"Or else what? Tsk, what could a mortal do against someone like me?!" he uttered while belittling me as if he wanted to show me how strong he was compared to a mortal like me.
"Maybe you're just really weak," I answered him boldly while staring at him as sharp as a knife blade. I want to show this monster how brave a Jade Fonacier can be.
"What did you just say? I'm Weak?" There's a hint of annoyance in his voice.
"Let's see if you can still say those things after I drink all your blood and break your bones into pieces!" He was about to attack me when he suddenly stopped because of a loud gunshot.
"Argh! Damn it!!!" Quintin screamed in pain as his flesh burned in the shoulder where a bullet had entered.
My brows snapped together as I quickly looked around to find the shooter, "Someone shot him? But how can anyone else move besides the two of us, if he froze time in this place?" I asked in my mind.
"Miss Jade? What's going on?" I heard a question from one of my men, so I immediately turned my attention to them. Time seems to be running smoothly again.
"N-no! Where is he?!" I clenched my jaw when Quintin suddenly disappeared from my sight.
After a while, I noticed a silhouette of a man in a corner of the dark hallway and seemed to be leaving the place.
"Get the guns and put them back in the car now!" I ordered my men before I immediately left and ran to chase the man I saw. I don't know who he is but I'm sure he's not Quintin.
I only ran for a few minutes before I finally saw the man I was chasing. He was just walking but he was moving so fast, I couldn't get close to him so I could only see his back.
"Stop! Who are you?!" I yelled at him, but he didn't seem to hear and didn't even stop walking.
"You don't want to stop hu!" I didn't hesitate to fire a gun in the direction he was heading. I wasn't disappointed because the man stopped immediately for what I did.
"One wrong move and I'll make sure your brain is scattered on the floor," I threatened him firmly.
I was about to approach him when I suddenly heard his manly voice, "Consider yourself lucky that I got here just in time, Mortal."
"The next time you encounter creatures like us, don't even dare to fight against us or you'll just end up dead," he added causing me to be immediately stunned.
