The Immortals' Prophecy

Chapter 3

"Did I hear it right? The Lacernas are vampires?"

"Jade, what is this? Is this your poor excuse for your failure?!" Uncle Roman's tone of speech showed deep disappointment.

"I'm telling the whole truth, Uncle," I answered him, but he just shook his head gently before turning his back on me.

"I've asked your men who were with you in the transaction last night and they said they don't know what you're talking about."

"The only thing that is clear to me now is that the Lacernas have withdrawn from doing business with us," Uncle added, causing me to fold my arms as I felt upset.

"I was right, I shouldn't have bothered to tell you about this because you won't believe me no matter what," I replied.

"I just wasted my time here." I was about to leave the door of Uncle's office when suddenly we heard a series of gunshots outside.

"What is happening?!" I immediately heard Uncle Roman's question, but before I could answer it, one of my men suddenly entered the office.

"Miss Jade, the Lacernas are here and they're attacking us!" he told me promptly while catching his own breath.

"That asshole is here?!" I didn't waste any more time and immediately stepped out of the room to witness with my own eyes what was happening outside this mansion.

"I'm going to kill that vampire!" I blurted as I could hear explosions and loud gunfire getting louder.

Not long afterward, I was immediately stunned by the situation in front of me when I finally got out of the mansion.

"W-what-" I could barely form words to say due to what my eyes were currently witnessing.

The majority of our men were all lying on the ground while bathing in their own blood and seemed to have suffered a lot of pain until death.

I swallowed hard as I also caught sight of the creatures that were mercilessly sucking the blood of the rest of our helpless men.

"Vampires," I whispered.

"Lovely to see you again, Jade Fonacier," it was obvious in Quintin's voice that he was delighted to see my reaction to what was happening right now in our territory.

"So she's the girl you are talking about?" A woman next to him added, causing me to glance at her.

"Tsk! There seems to be nothing special about her," said another man who was with him arrogantly.

Even if I don't want to, I have to admit that I felt a little intimidated because of their red burning eyes that were currently staring at me from head to toe.

"Oh, are you scared?" The woman who was with Quintin asked me with a grin, causing me to clench my fist that was shaking with anger.

"He's mine, Natasha." Quintin's eyes showed his eagerness to suck my blood to the last drop.

"Jade! Where are you?!" I heard Uncle Roman's voice, which made me hurriedly scatter my eyes around to find him.

"Uncle!" I exclaimed.

"Roman Fonacier," Quintin mouthed making my eyes widen.

"All this time Jade has been telling the truth, v-vampires really exist and y-you're one of them?!" Uncle Roman spluttered in disbelief.

"D-don't you dare hurt my niece or I'll f*****g kill you!" Uncle scolded Quintin which made him cackle with laughter.

"Natasha and Kristoff, you take care of that old man!" Quintin ordered his two sidekicks, which made me feel sounded deeply troubled.

"Consider it done, my brother," The woman named Natasha smirked as she turned her gaze to Uncle.

"N-no! Not my uncle, you bastard!" I shrieked as I drown in rage.

"Kill him!" Quintin added, causing his sidekicks to act quickly to obey his order.

"No! Stop right there!!!" I didn't hesitate to shoot them striving to stop them, but they weren't even hurt by the bullets that penetrated their skin and flesh.

From where I was standing, I saw with my own two eyes how Uncle Roman fought off the two vampires that currently attacking him.

I dig my fingers in my palms as I witness the thing that I expected, the vampires were way strong enough that Uncle Roman ended up beaten helplessly.

"How dare you! I'm gonna kill you!!!" I was about to run to help Uncle but Quintin stopped me swiftly as fast as the wind.

"Oops, where are you going?" He couldn't get rid of the smile on his face while standing in front of me.

"Ahhh!!!" I heard Uncle Roman's grunt of pain when I saw how the fangs of the two vampires sank into his neck and bit him to suck his blood.

"Stay away from him! Uncle!!!" I scolded and that was the last word that came out of my mouth before I was completely stunned because of the excruciating pain that I suddenly felt in my neck.

Abundant tears suddenly ran down my cheeks as Quintin's fangs remained buried in my neck. I wanted to fight back but he was stronger than me. I couldn't move and I couldn't even defend Uncle, not even myself.

"Is this really the end of me?" I squeeze my eyes shut as I bit my lower lip because I could feel his fangs sucking blood in my veins.

"What sin have I committed and fate is so cruel to me?" I can taste the blood on my lower lip due to the wound I caused.

After a while, I immediately hit the ground when I lost my balance when Quintin pushed me all of a sudden.

"Ahhh!!! It's hot!!!" he whimpered as his face showed extreme pain and agony.

I glanced up to him causing my forehead to crease. He was in so much pain that he fell to his knees on the ground while holding his neck, it was now burning red like it was on fire.

"W-what's in your blood?!!"

"W-what d-did you do to me?!" he asked me while struggling to breathe some air. I swallowed hard as he is currently vomiting the blood he sucked from me.

"Quintin, my brother! W-what is happening to you?!" his sister hastily asked as she approached him.

"P-poison, that girl's blood has poison!" Quintin replied struggling.

"W-what?" I met the gaze of Quintin's sister which allowed me to see the sudden strange fear in her eyes. Just after that, Quintin's neck was totally burned causing his entire body to set on fire.
