"What the! What's your problem?!" Edward immediately exclaimed in an annoyed tone when Cairo suddenly grabbed his hand. A gasp came out of my mouth when my two eyes saw how both of Cairo's eyes changed color from amber to red.
"Y-you?! Get your hands off me!" Edward hastily struggled out of Cairo's tight grip on him. When he was finally free himself, he immediately shot Cairo a deadly glare.
"What do you n-need from me?! Ahh n-no...how did you track me down here?" he stutters unable to find the right word to say.
"Edward, stop acting like a fool. You know I only want to end your precious life here," after Cairo said those words, he barely glanced at me.
"He doesn't know anything about your parents," he told me while gently shaking his head.
"W-what are you talking about? W-wait...are you two together?" Cairo and I heard his question, causing me to attempt to approach him. But seconds away, I pressed my eyes shut when he suddenly pulled me and strangled me by the neck as a captive just like I expected him to do.
"Don't you dare lay me a finger again or else-" Edward couldn't finish what he was about to say when Cairo suddenly cut him off, "It's time, do it!"
When those words of Cairo entered my ears, my eyes flew open and I quickly slapped Edward's face with my hand that had a wound, and kicked his foot hard at the same time.
"Ahhh!!! What did you do to me?! You b***h!" Edward shouted whimpering in pain while the skin on his face was now burning because of my blood smeared on his face.
"Pardon me, Lord Edward...but you deserve to rot in burning hell!" I dig my fingers inside the silver clutch bag I'm holding to get the syringe that contains my poisonous blood for vampires.
"I swear to kill you b***h!!!" he bleated as one of his eyes was already blinded by the burn.
"Shut the f**k up and just take this!!!" I scolded him. I was about to stab the syringe needle in his neck when he unexpectedly managed to grab me by my wrist and I accidentally let go of the syringe I was holding.
"You're going to die!!!" he shouted angrily.
My face shifted in another direction when I was hit by a hard and swift slap from him, causing me to clench my trembling hand as anger consumed me.
"Hey! Son of a b***h!" I heard Cairo scold in an angry and serious tone before he finally kicked Edward hard in the back causing him to let go of me and hit the ground at the same time.
Cairo was not satisfied with what he had done so he quickly picked up the syringe that fell on the ground and quickly stabbed Edward. From where I was standing, I could see how Edward's neck gradually burned up.
"You bastard! What did you inject m- ahhh!!!" Edward's grunt shows the pain he is feeling now.
"Oh come on! You know you're still lucky since you were able to celebrate your last year here in the mortal world..." Cairo said sarcastically with a little anger in his voice.
"D-don't celebrate your little victory..."
"By this time, I'm s-sure Sebastian's g-group already knows about what you did to me, including your woman psychic," Edward managed to utter his last words before he was completely burned to ashes.
"Who is this Sebastian he's referring to?" I asked Cairo without hesitation when I finally got close to him.
"He is the leader of the former members of the vampire council who chose to live and reign here," his voice was serious and it seemed that he was not talking about ordinary vampires.
"I have encountered their group more than once...but I have always failed to erase them from this world," he added pursing his lips.
"In that case, do you want them to be our next target?" I casually asked him, causing him to glance at me with a grin.
"No...this is not the right time to catch them." He took a white handkerchief from his pocket and gently took my palm that he had injured earlier.
"Sebastian's group can handle my strength, they didn't become members of the vampire council back then for nothing," I heard him add while currently covering the cut on my palm with a handkerchief.
"Are you saying we'll have a hard time chasing them?" I asked him with a frown, causing a deep sigh to escape his mouth.
"You're right..." he answered me briefly, before he completely knotted the handkerchief he was wrapping around my hand.
"This is the first time I'm asking you this matter..."
"How did vampires like you end up in our world?" I asked him wanting to feed the curiosity inside me.
"Before my father became king there was another king in our world," Cairo replied to me as he sat down on a bench near a tall street light.
"An evil king who caused a prophecy to be formed," he added before crossing his arms together.
"A prophecy?" I asked him as a line appeared between my brows.
"You heard it right...a prophecy that gave fear to all the immortals in our world," he responded clearly with no doubt.
"The former king of Azrantha was also the only one responsible for why so many vampires crossed over to the human world that we are now after," he stated finally giving me an exact answer to my question.
"Azrantha? Why does that word sound familiar to me?" I whispered in my mind, before finally sitting next to him.
"I can't read your mind," he blurted, causing me to grant him a glance.
"What did you say?" I immediately asked him with a crease.
"By the way, I didn't tell you that I also have the ability to read minds," he responded.
"You're trying to read my mind?! An asshole! I didn't even permitted you to do that!" I scolded him before I got out of my seat.
"Haha, will you please calm down? Besides, I couldn't read what's in your mind..." he said quickly while showing me his seductive smile.
"What do you mean?" I promptly asked him.
"I'm a royal blood so it's only normal that I can read minds..."
"But in my case, I can't use it properly because it doesn't work on all creatures," he explained to me.
"Tsk! So you're saying I'm one of those creatures you can't read?" I folded my arms before turning away from him.
"Unfortunately, it looks like that," I heard him say, causing my eyes to roll at him in disbelief.
"Anyway, you did a great job tonight," he added. I paused for a second when his voice sent me a strange warmth in my face.
