Chapter 2: Mystery

359 Words
As I came out of the bathroom after splashing some water on my face, I was looking around the bar for the very built blued eyed lumberjack of a man I had seen earlier staring at me from across the room. When I seen all the commotion at the bar, I asked Teri what had happened. She told me that the very sexy man that I was looking for had heard what the guy had said to me and smashed his face into the bar and then left. I was very interested at this point to know who this intriguing man was that I had never seen in here before, and why he stood up for me the way he did. We decided after all that it was time to go home, so we left. We only lived about two blocks away from the bar in a little apartment, so we walked. The entire walk home all I could think about was the man that was staring at me all night but didn’t say a word. The next morning, I got up and got ready for work and was surprised that I was still thinking about the strange man from last night, it was at this moment that I decided Friday night I would go back to the bar to see if the strange man was going to be there again. Work sucked all week, but it was now Friday, and I was really looking forward to tonight which is unusual for me because I don’t look forward to anything. I realized a long time ago that dreams were meant to be broken and never fulfilled and that was how I lived my life. While I stand looking in the mirror before I leave, I start to get nervous about maybe seeing the stranger tonight. Men that look like that don’t look twice at women that look like me. I go into the kitchen and take a shot of liquid courage before I slip on my boots and head out to the bar. I guess its now or never and we will see if he shows up or not.
