2190 Words
Kaede, Rantaro, Iruma, Shuichi, Kaito, Maki, Keebo were all sitting in the attic of Rantaro's house. They were all invited to Rantaro's sleepover, but since Rantaro's sisters locked him out of his room, they couldn't really enter. But the attic, after laying a few fluffy blankets, bringing a portable tv, making some popcorn, laying plushies, gathering movies, board games and video games and building personal blanket forts for everybody it looked perfect. Everybody was sitting in a circle. their forts were forming a circle so they were all very close to each other. Rantaro who was wearing comfy green pajamas and had a green blanket fort completed with an avocado plush and green cushions. Saihara dressed in a baby blue PJs, had the pastel blue one with his personal favorite teddy bear, which he was clutching to his chest. Kaito was in a blanket fort with star pillows and galaxy blankets. He also had a galaxy PJs which was quite nice. Maki had a simple grey shirt that was too long for her and hanged to her knees as PJs and a velvet blanket for with no plushies. She said she was too old for such foolish things. Iruma and Kaede, which insisted on sharing a fort (They were neighbors and close friends since their diaper days so they were used to sharing EVERYTHING) had strawberry PJs and pink blankets. Kaede had a big panda plushie and Miu considered Kaede to be her 'snuggly bear'. Keebo said that a blanket fort might overheat his system, so he had nothing but one blanket and a few pillows. They decided to do everything they had planned on the list they made. Eat ice cream, watch My Little Pony (Kaito suggested that one), play video and board games, play truth or dare, play the juice game, play hide and seek in Rantaro's REALLY BIG house, bake cupcakes and eat snacks house and watch a lot of movies Suddenly, as the Disney movie they watched ended Miu said: "So what are we gonna do now douchebags?!" Kaede flicked Miu's forehead before lecturing her about bad words. Rantaro looked at the list of things they wanted to do on this sleepover and then smiled as he realized what it was. He didn't tell them that they were going to do this. He pulled out a game board from under a stack of avocado-colored pillows. Everybody's eyes widened at the sight of the board. The Ouija board. "Why not play with this Ouija board my dad brought after some trip to communicate with some ghost? Apparently, an old man that was selling it on a flee market said that it was one of the only things that survived after a fire burned the owner's mansion down." Rantaro said in a spooky tone. Maki rolled her eyes while Shuichi just clutched his teddy bear closer. "T-That's s-stupid...G-Ghosts d-don't exist!" Kaito said clearly scared. Rantaro have him a reassuring smile "Kaito, we just have to follow the rules and nothing will happen to us. We aren't playing alone or in a graveyard. It's fine. Besides we're not stupid like those teenagers in the movie version." Finally, all participants of the sleepover decided to agree to play. Rantaro pulled out a red oil lamp to act as a lit candle that appeared in the Ouija board movies as well as different horror movies. All put our fingers on the planchette. Rantaro and others decided that they would all ask questions. Rantaro was first. "Is there a spirit in this room?" The planchette slowly moved and stopped at the word 'YES'. It was now Kaede's turn. She thought for a moment before asking " How old are you? I mean when you died." She said. The planchette found its way to the numbers. It said 10. Everyone here was from the age of 8-12 so the ghost was about their age. It was Iruma's turn. "What's your name?" she said holding onto Kaede. The ghost gave us an unusual answer. 'Panta' We looked at each other confused before the planchette once again moved. 'That's a lie' The ghost said. For some reason, the wind outside now slightly resembled a cheeky laugh. Iruma seemed annoyed but decided to simply puff her cheeks and not say anything. Keebo took long, searching and analyzing different things in his "brain" before finally saying "Are you a human or something else?" The planchette moved and starting to spell the words. "I'm a Human Ghost, you dumb robot" Keebo seemed to get upset but silenced it. Kaito said that he'll skip the turn. It was obvious he was scared, but he kept denying it, which was typical of him. Maki sighed when it came to her turn, she wasn't buying this entire ghost thing. She asked, "How did you die?" It took a second before the ghost finally answered. My parents put me in an asylum because they thought I was insane. So I escaped and killed my father with an axe we had in the backyard and had a tiny struggle with my mom in the kitchen. I started aiming at her head until I couldn't recognize her face anymore! But my older sister heard and saw me and decided to pour gasoline in front of the door to the kitchen and then all around the first floor of the house and burn the place the ashes with me locked inside. She just stared at me while I caught on fire. Guess she was a bit twisted too! Everyone looked at each other a bit freaked out. They didn't think that they could come up with such grim stories. At last, it was Shuichi's turn. He did not know what to say, or if he could muster any words. Saihara was shy, but not prideful like Kaito but he didn't want to miss an opportunity to talk to a ghost. His mother used to read to him a lot of bedtime stories and some involved magic fantasy worlds with ghosts and fairies. "C-Can y-you prove to us that you're r-real...?" The planchette started burning a bright red, glistening fire, which didn't seem to burn the board. It looked like an endless fire, where the planchette stayed engulfed in flames without burning down. "OUCH! s**t!" Miu yelled out as she burned pulled away and tried her best to cool down. The fire burned like hell. Kaede didn't even bother to lecture her about the bad words. They all took away their fingers, trying their best to cool down...except Saihara. He didn't feel the burning sensation that others did. Everyone stared at him wide-eyed. Maki's eyes widened as she felt Kaito latch onto her out of fear. They stared at the planchette, paralyzed before hearing someone's voice "Ahem." Everyone lifted their heads off the planchette and looked into the direction of the sound. In between Maki's and Kaede and Miu's fort sat a little boy, just their age. He had purple hair and purple eyes. His outfit consisted of a checkered scarf and a white straitjacket like outfit. Red fire sparks floated from him as if he were a living fire and it was like he illuminated with light. He smiled at us. "Hi there! I'm Ouma" Iruma immediately squeaked and hugged Kaede who looked like she was shocked, maybe stunned even. Kaito basically passed out, Maki's eyes widened as she didn't think this could possibly happen, Rantaro stood paralyzed, Keebo's system seemed to stop working and a minor malfunction and Saihara shook violently staring at the boy before him. "So... is anyone of you gonna say anything or are we just gonna sit here awkwardly...?" he said as everyone snapped out of the trance. "Well..." Rantaro said "Maybe our new friend would like to watch some kind of horror movie...?" he proposed to which the ghost's eyes lit up. "YES! I love watching people getting scared! Yay!" After learning that the ghost was just a nice, kind of insane ghost, they all decided on watching a scary movie that Rantaro found called "The Belko Experiment" . They all had different reactions when it came to the ghost. Maki seemed to stay reluctant at trusting the ghost, Kaito that had woken up hid behind Maki, Miu was spouting insults every now on then but the ghost seemed to be quite good at vile insults too. Kaede and Rantaro tried to act friendly and Saihara who acted shy like usual felt, for some reason, comfort. For some reason, his presence fueled him with confidence. Despite Saihara's fear of bloody scenes, he didn't seem to feel anything as he saw the heads of the characters blow up. He was kind of scared about how the presence of the ghost affected him but he didn't mind. After the movie, they played some video games, play board games. For others it was hours, for Saihara-chan time wasn't passing at all! He didn't seem to care either. He just grinned like an i***t as he stared at Ouma. Why was the ghost so...cute to him? "GOD DAMN-Ouch!" Iruma yelled a curse word but was flicked by Kaede in the forehead. They were playing a game and Iruma lost. Ouma laughed maniacally before calming down a bit. "Maybe we should go to sleep, I'm getting tired." Maki said as she pulled out a black blanket and went to sleep before anyone could stop her. Kaede yawned "Yeah... I'm gonna go sleep now too. C'mon Iruma." she said as she pulled the blond girl close to her, nuzzling into her chest and covering them with a fluffy pink blanket. "But..." Rantaro started "What are we gonna do with Ouma?" They all stared at each other. Saihara noticed a shadow covered Ouma's eyes and some tears were welling up in his eyes. Saihara thought a moment. From the perspective of a ghost, this wasn't very nice. He was trapped and had a traumatic death. And we're sending him back after we had our fun with him as if he was some doll? Oh no....that's not gonna happen. "We should probably send him back-"  "He can stay."  Ouma stared at Saihara "We can build him a fort if he wants or make him share? Would you like that Ouma?" Saihara smiled at Ouma to which he smiled back "Yea, I'd like that.". "Well, if you insist on keeping him here, I guess you two will have to share." Kaito said. Why was he so paranoid? "I don't have a problem with that." Shuichi said determinedly. After a moment we were all settled. Ouma and I were sleeping in the same fort on the opposite sides. When everyone was asleep, Saihara heard Ouma say ask him something "Why did you do it?" "Hmm?" I asked clearly confused "I'm an insane ghost. I murdered my family and scared off any kid away from me because of my twisted delusions. I am a deadly being that should be burning in hell. So why... why did you want me to stay?" he asked facing towards me "I...I don't know. Ever since you showed up, I acted a lot more...comfortable. I don't get it. I was shy and reluctant to come to this party, knowing we're gonna watch bloody movies but you've had this weird effect on me in which nothing matters. I... like you being around, is what I'm saying. I saw a nice blush sprawl on his slightly faded face. Cute. "You know I'm eventually gonna have to go away, unless..." Ouma said looking at me "Unless?" I ask. Why do I want him to stay so badly? Whatever the reason might be I'm not gonna question it. "I'll need to connect with this world somehow. By a blood sacrifice or object. But if I don't I'm gonna be sent back into the board by morning. " "Blood sacrifice?" I asked "Give a drop of your blood from a cut and place it on the board. Then we can be connected...well... forever. Something like imaginary friends" Saihara didn't say anything. Saihara took a look around the room. A drinking glass will do. Saihara grabbed it and broke it quietly so that it doesn't make a huge sound. Thankfully it didn't. Phew!  Saihara grabbed the glass shard and sliced it across his hand. Pink blood spilled as Ouma just watched him in shock. Saihara looked at the board then at Ouma. He put his hand on the board leaving a bloodstain on it. Ouma slowly walked over, touching the blood. "Y-You're gonna just let me connect with you? I can't just take it!" he said stunned. Saihara rolled his eyes "Well too bad I already cut my arm. You know that hurt right?" He nodded "So stop being a wuss and just take it" Saihara smiled. Ouma's eyes teared up as he returned the smile. He saw that as Ouma touched the blood it disappeared as if he sucked it out of existence which he maybe did. He smiled at me with tears in his eyes "Thank you..." I smiled. We were together, And this friendship is gonna last forever.
