Intro
As my body sank deeply in the dark blue ocean surrounding me, I felt my grip loosen around my sword. I was floating. The icy-cold water was shutting my mind out, wrapping my skin in a welcomed anesthesia. I couldn’t hear anything but the distant waves crashing feet above me, as I drifted further in a pitch black world. The ringing in my head had stopped, the blood that had tainted the sea around me couldn’t be seen anymore, and as I closed my eyes, I finally let go of my last breath to be, for my lungs started to fill, painfully, at first, to the sweet sensation of a slight burn in me.
For the first time in my life, I was ready to let go. I was ready to die. I had accomplished my duty, and saved them. I had fought with my everything to trade my life for theirs, so I could spare their future to resemble mine in any way possible. And with the utmost happiness that had brought to me the idea of my people living freely and protected, I allowed my spirit to wander in the darkness of unknown realms I believed to be those of Death.

She was frozen in space and time, for there was nothing like that underneath the surface of theses depths. They swallowed everything that had fallen in their sharp claws, as insatiable as beast that would have been forcefully starved for thousands of years. Her lifeless body, exhausted and torn by the fights and the tortures she had undergo, couldn’t heal anymore.
A light appeared in her chest, barely visible, and began to grow, slowly, until her skin looked like a sheet made of parchment put in front of the Sun. Her veins were showing through it, as well as her organs, making her look like an embryo in the womb. The light kept growing brighter, illuminating the nothingness around her, reaching every inch of her, to the point where she disappeared in it completely. The waves broke harder on the surface, kissing the cloudy sky and the furious lightning going rampage from the storm blowing upon the restless sea.
One strike from a lightning bolt was all it took to life to come back to the lost warrior drifting away peacefully, bringing her back to this world. The light surrounding her gradually decreased, and disappeared completely, leaving nothing, not even the slightest cue of what had happened through that night, with only the Moon as a witness. Some might have said that the Gods were merciful; others knew that everything had a cost.
She was back.
She was alive.
And she would have to fight other battles.
