As I gazed into Adriana, standing right there with her soft smile and gentle, kind eyes, the cold-looking skin-things changed between us. It wasn't the usual meeting anymore; it felt more organic and significant. There is something amazing in the way these two people bound by debts and grudges went to.whatever this was. I hadn't been prepared to feel all this yet; yes, it does feel so special.
We were standing close, the air between us electric with what wasn't said. I reached out gently, my hand coming to rest on her shoulder. The skin beneath my fingertips was soft, a rush of warmth filling me that overflowed a little more than I expected. She met my gaze, shy and open all at once, in that same boneless way she must have been sorting through these weird emotions.
