The Moon Goddess

Nine Months

Selena rubbed her bump, she loved this little baby girl so much. That night with Caleb is a night she remembers fondly, and relives it in her mind. When she returned to her realm and found she was with child, Selena knew she wouldn’t be able to keep the baby with her in this realm. Her little baby girl was not completely goddess blood, she was created with an alpha werewolf while she was in the form of a she wolf. Her child would also be a she wolf and therefore had to go be in her own world, and be raised by other wolves.

Before the sun was pulled into the sky and the moon took its leave, Selena was home. Her body was humming from her night. Being around the werewolves and of course Caleb was probably the most exciting thing that had happened to her in a long time. As she walked into her room she saw her sister Luna sitting on her bed with their other sister Asteria. Selena was in charge of taking the moon across earth during the night, Luna was in charge of any creature that belonged to the moon and Asteria watched over the stars. They smiled as she entered the room, she smiled widely right back at them. She loved her sisters very much, they had other sisters but these three had formed a special bond and spent most of their time together.

“How was it?” Asked Asteria, her eyes twinkled just like stars she was in charge of.

Selena walked to the bed and laid down between the two of them. Her room was large but not the largest in their home. Still her bed was big enough for the three women to sit and lay comfortably together.

“Probably the best night I’ve had in a very long time.”

Luna looked at her from the book she had been reading, she raised her eyebrows. “Why’s that?”

Selena closed her eyes and smiled, “I walked among a werewolf pack tonight. I met the most handsome werewolf I’ve ever seen! He was so sweet, I could tell he loved his pack very much!”

Luna was pleased to hear this because it made her proud of the creatures under her care. However there was more to the story. “And?”

“Well, one thing may have led to another..”

“Oh Selena you did not!” Luna said a little exasperated, a little shocked, and a little annoyed.

Asteria squealed with excitement! “ TELL ME MORE!” She said shaking Selena’s shoulder.

Luna scowled at the youngest sister.

Selena just laughed and smiled, “He was wonderful and it was just the once! I promise it won’t happen again Luna. Please don’t be mad.”

Luna looked at her sister lovingly but sternly. “I’m not mad, however you know that there can be serious consequences for this. We are not suppose to intervene with other creatures from other realms. Things tend to get messy when we do.”

“Okay, yes, but everyone else has done it!” Selena was getting a little defensive it’s not like the creatures of her realm always played by the rules and she didn’t do anything to stop any natural progression of the werewolves lives.

“It still doesn’t make it right.” Said Luna.

“Okay, but what did he look like!?” Asteria was trying so hard to keep her excitement at bay.

“Tall, handsome, green eyes, dark hair, you know just about perfect!” Asteria clapped her hands and bounced up and down.

Luna just shook her head, this girl needs to get out more she thought to herself.

A few weeks went by without any issues, the girls went through their days and their duties just as normal. It wasn’t till a month after Selena had stayed in the werewolf pack as she was getting ready for the next full moon did she realize she might be with child. Selena kept quiet and preformed her nightly task, she came home and went straight to her room where she hoped her sisters would be waiting for her. Of course they were, the most beautiful pair sitting on the enormous bed just waiting for her. Selena walked into the room head down,

“I think I’m pregnant” she said, for the first time out loud. Her sisters both looked right at her Luna was not happy but Asteria jumped up and ran to Selena put her hands on her belly and said, “Hello little angel! I’m your auntie!”

Selena smiled at Asteria and embraced her youngest sister. Luna got up walked to Selena and hugged her also but her face was much more solemn.

“I’m sorry Selena, I didn’t want this to happen.” Asteria eyebrows furrowed and she looked confused, “what are you talking about?”

Selena smiled at her sister, “I can’t keep the baby, she was conceived on earth while I was in a different form. She’s not from this realm and she can’t stay with us.” Asteria’s lip quivered and she held on to Selena.

“How do you know it’s a girl?” Selena kissed Asteria’s head, “I just know.”

Luna took her sister’s hands and brought them to the bed, all three of them sat down solemnly. Luna placed her hand on Selena’s stomach, her eyes turned cream white and glowed as the moon does. She looked at Selena with her eyes turning back to their crystal blue. “You’re right, it is a girl. The werewolf you were with is strong and this little wolf will be just as strong. We should find her a good home among his pack. She should know her father.” Selena nodded, tears streaked her face. Asteria hugged her, “it’ll be okay sister, we will figure it out.”

Quickly another month passed and Selena had a small bump already, “Luna these babies grow big fast don’t they!?”

Luna smirked, “they sure do sister” she came over and rubbed the small bump. “Little girl is growing big and strong very fast.” Selena was happy her baby was growing well. She enjoyed being pregnant and her sisters were being so sweet and supportive. Asteria bounded in went right for the bump,

“Hello sweet angel auntie is here.” Luna smiled and rolled her eyes, Selena laughed out loud at her sisters. “Ladies, I’m hungry let’s go to the kitchen and make something to eat” Selena started walking towards the kitchen, Asteria linked her arm with Luna and they started following Selena.

“She better be careful with all this eating” Asteria said looking at Luna “or she might get fat.” Both girls laughed and Selena turned around while still walking and stuck her tongue out at them.
