The Wedding

Eve's excitement about her wedding seems to take over her. Tonight will be the last night that she will be using her surname. She will be married to Richard Ledesma and she will be Mrs. Evelyn Ledesma after tomorrow.
It's very exciting yet scary at the same time. She's been alone for five years trying to survive and support herself while she was still in college. But now, she was able to have her family with her.
She wants to stay with them longer. After all, it's just a few months since she had them back in her life. But tomorrow, she will be married and naturally, she will live with her husband in their own house.
Her parents don't mind that and they told her that she deserves to be happy and said that they will always be there for her. It will never be the same as when they have to live under the bridge. It will be a better story from now on.
Eve promised her family that she will always visit them during the weekends. Miss Marian also said that they don't have to worry about staying in that house. They can stay there for as long as they like. Her parents will be the new caretaker of her apartments anyway.
Life has been good for her after those five years. Ever since she took a leap of fate and decided to change her life, everything seems to be going well. It wasn't easy but slowly, she was able to also make her family's lives better.
They should be fine now even if she will be living with her husband after the wedding. Her wedding gown is ready for tomorrow and she needs to relax. Everything will turn out great. Her wedding will be perfect!
She will be marrying her hero and the love of her life. His parents adore her being self-made millionaires, they believe in her and that she and Richard will also achieve what they did in the future.
It's almost midnight. She needs to sleep now. But it seems that she can't even close her eyes. The wedding will be at 10 AM and she needs her beauty sleep. It's her big day tomorrow. What could go wrong?
Eve finally closed her eyes and let her mind wander about her memories with Richard. He was in the right place and at the right time when he rescued her from that r****t. Even if she was very filthy from living on the streets, that psycho still finds her desirable.
Thank goodness for Richard, he was able to see what was happening and he heroically rescued her. After that incident, he visits her all the time. He's the one who introduced her to Miss Marian. She's one of his parents' friends.
The day she was able to have her dorm room was one of the most memorable things in her life as well. She never had her own room before. Even though it's small, it has everything she needs.
Richard became her best friend and often visited her from work. She never had anybody and when he asked to be his girlfriend, she didn't hesitate to agree and the rest was history.
Tomorrow, Richard will be his husband and they will be starting their own family together. He's always sweet and thoughtful towards her. They argue sometimes but they never had any major fights.
For her, he is her Mister Right. He's the ideal prince charming for a damsel in distress like her. She owes everything to him. If not for Richard, she would never have met Miss Marian and she may still be on the streets until now or even dead.
Then the realization hits her. Is she really in love with Richard or she just feels that she owes him too much? It's not the first time that she thought of it. They even had several fights when Richard doubted her feelings for him.
But of course, she loves him, she wouldn't even be around if not. Or that's what she wants to believe. Eve tried to shrug off that feeling. She's just having cold feet. They will be married tomorrow. It's not right for her to think about some stupid things right now.
For the nth time, she was able to convince herself that she will be marrying the man she loves. It's not right to doubt her feelings for him. Not now that they are about to walk down the aisle. Content with that thought, she fell asleep with a smile on her face.

Eve thought she heard an explosion and woke up in a panic. What's happening? She looks at her alarm clock and it's already 8 AM. The bridal makeup artist should be here any minute now. But she has to check downstairs first.
She opened her door and to her horror, it just collapsed before her very eyes. Then she realized that their house looks like it's on fire! She immediately checks for her sister's room but she's not there. Then she runs to her brother's room but no one there either.
She decided to go to her parents' room but the fire seems to have already consumed that part. What's going on? Eve is now stricken by panic and worry. Where is her family? Then, the fire started to engulf every part of her house now.
She immediately ran downstairs and out of the house. Just after she was able to step out, there's another explosion from inside the house. She was pushed by the impact down to her knees. The entire house now looks like a burning inferno.
Even if she's still in shock about what just happened, she tries to stand up so she can go far from the fire. She needs to look for her family and then turn her back to the burning house.
Then she saw her surroundings and realized that it's not just their house that got destroyed. The entire neighborhood is now ashes but still smoking. She can feel the heat that surrounds her.
Eve is now more confused and worried about her family. Tears are flowing down from her eyes as she walks past through the ashes and smoke. Everything is gone around here. Why wouldn't anyone wake me up if they knew what was happening?
She's still wearing her pajamas but she doesn't care. Eve continues to walk to see where her family may go. But everything seems to be all destroyed now. She thought that her entire neighborhood was engulfed by fire.
Eve thought about Richard. She needed to call him but she forgot to grab her phone. Everything happens so fast! He will rescue me from this once again like what he usually does.
Then she realized that she's been walking for an hour now. She's already in the business district but the buildings seem to be missing. It's just all ruins and most of what she can see are ashes and ruins.
She reached the highway now but there are no moving cars either. Some of them look as if they just collided with each other. Everything is chaotic around her and she's now shaking. She can't see anyone as if everyone just disappeared and abandoned the entire city.
After a while, Eve felt tired from walking in hopes to find someone to ask what was going on. She realized that she had reached Richard's street and hurriedly walked towards his house. But she can't see any house left around there either.
Then she feels that she can't walk anymore. She sits down from the ground facing what she believed to be where Richard's place was supposed to be. The ground still seems to be smoking.
She stayed there for a while and didn't know what to do anymore. Her mind is raising to conclusions that she doesn't want to believe. She thinks that everybody's gone from whatever happened while she was still asleep. But how come she's still alive?
Eve can't help it anymore and started crying out loud. What happened to Richard and her family? What happened to everybody? She's so confused about what's happening but she can't seem to pull herself together.
She just lost her family and Richard in an instant. How about Miss Marian? She felt a little hope and stood up. Maybe everyone's there and waiting for her. She hurriedly walked back to reach the highway again.
"Eve!"
She thought that she heard a man's voice and stopped. Then she turned around from where she heard the voice. It's a tall handsome man who's calling her name. But she doesn't think she knows him.
He's getting closer to her now and she can't still remember him though he looks familiar. The man is now standing close to her and he also looks worried. Maybe he's also looking for his family.
"I found her!" He shouted.
She looks behind her and sees six guys emerging from the highway.
"Phil, is that you?" She asked, recognizing her former classmate.
"Yeah, it's me. Remember my friends?" He asked.
She just looked at them but her mind is still in shock. It's not the best time for a reunion.
"What happened? Where is everybody?" She asked, confused.
Phil looked at his friends and the man beside her. She looked at him and realized it was Adam. Now she remembered.
"Apocalypse happened. I'm sorry Eve, but everybody's gone now." He said looking dead serious.
Eve got hit by the realization of what Adam just said to her. She can't take it anymore and lose consciousness.
