The Apocalypse

Eve wakes up from a different room panic-stricken. She didn't recognize where she is right now and then she just remembered what happened earlier. But maybe she was just dreaming and her family should be showing up any moment now. "You're awake!" Phil said and entered the room. "How are you feeling?" He asked and sat down from a stool beside the bed. "So, it happened?" She asked, hoping that he would tell her that it was just a dream. "I'm sorry, Eve but it's all real. Multiple meteors fell earlier this morning and were the only ones left." He said in a matter-of-fact tone. "That can't be real!" She denied it to herself. Adam walks inside the room followed by the other guys. "It's real and we already confirmed it!" He said firmly. He sits from the corner of the bed very close to Eve. She felt off right away and tried to move a little further from him. "It's okay Eve, we're all friends here," Phil said, noticing her feeling uncomfortable. "Sure, but it seems that she only trusts you, Phil! Are you scared of me?" He asked. Eve tried to stay civil with Adam even though she felt awkward with him. But she didn't give him an answer. She just lost her family and Richard. "Adam, stop scaring her!" The tattooed guy said and turned to her. "Do you still remember me?" He asked. "I'm sorry, but our meeting five years ago was very short. I can remember your faces but not your names." She said feeling bad. "Well, you should have remembered if you weren't so snob that day!" Adam commented. "Adam!" The rest of the guys said in unison. Adam holds up his hands as if surrendering. Then he pushed himself a little bit more from the bed. His back resting from the wooden wall. It looks like Eve and he is sharing the bed which she thinks he did on purpose to make her feel more uncomfortable. The tattooed guy tried to make the situation lighter. "I'm Pete! Those guys are Bob, Sky, Sam, and Chris." Eve tried her best to smile at them and they all welcomed her to their cottage. They all seem nice except for Adam who sometimes blocks the conversation when one of the guys went close to her. But Eve tried to ignore him. If they are the only ones left on the planet, they have to stick together. She can't help but feel sad seeing them happy. "What's with the face?" Adam scowled. "I was supposed to get married today..." She said and tears fell from her eyes again. He stares blankly at her. "Maybe it's just not meant to be. I mean, the apocalypse stopped it." He commented as if smiling to himself. "I just lost my family and fiance today!" Eve shouted at him but not regretting it. "What do you want us to do? Cry with you? We didn't even know them!" She shouted as well. "Adam, please! Give her some respect! Or you can leave the room for now." Phil suggested. "What? You want me to leave her with all of you?" He shouted at Phil. Eve panicked, are they fighting just now? Chris, Sam, Sky, Bob, and Pete went out of the room leaving her with the two guys. "That's not what I'm suggesting Adam. I'm sorry if that's what you think." Phil calmly responded to Adam. Adam looks like the leader of the group and he's very bossy. Everyone seems to be scared of him. She thought that it would be interesting to live under one roof with this guy. She will not tolerate his manners but for now, she has to stop them from fighting. "I'm sorry for losing it, Adam. Please don't be mad." She said while touching his arm. He looks like he's ready to punch Phil. Adam relaxed a little and put his back to the wooden wall again. Eve sat down quietly from the other side of the bed. She thinks that she has to learn how to deal with these guys from now on. "I have to help the guys downstairs. We have to prepare some lunch. I'll leave you now." Phil suddenly started and headed out the door. Eve was left alone with Adam who seems to be in deep thought. He's sitting on the other side of the bed so they are far from each other. She felt awkward being left alone with this guy. He's very short-tempered. She remembered that he talked to her the same way the first time that she met them. But he seems to be overprotective of her. She can feel that from the time of his voice earlier. "Thank you earlier. I don't know what I will do if you guys don't show up." She said, trying to start a conversation. Maybe if she will talk to him more, he will be nicer to her. "I have to protect you! I don't have a choice." He responded with a sarcastic remark again. "Still, you came for me. Thank you for showing up." She tried it again with a very nice tone. "Sure, whatever! Listen, since you will be staying with us now I only have one rule for you." He moved closer to Eve this time. "What rule?" She asked. "You have to stay near me all the time, not with the other guys! Is that clear?" He said in a commanding tone. "Why?" She was confused with what he said. "Because that's my rule and I said so!" He replied almost shouting again. "Okay, fine. I'll do that. You don't have to shout! Geeze!" Eve answered. "I'm serious Eve. That's the only rule I have around here. If you need anything, ask me first, not Phil or the other guys." He reminded me. Then she realized that he suddenly looks adorable and more charming. He's so close to her she can smell his scent and it's intoxicating. She suddenly feels dizzy and wants to sleep again. Eve slid off from his face and lay down in bed again. The awkwardness disappears now and she feels more relaxed even though she's alone in the room with him. "Adam, can I sleep for a little more again, please? I feel a bit dizzy." She said and closed her eyes. "Okay, I'll wake you up for lunch." He said and left the room. Did his tone suddenly sound sweet? Eve doesn't care about how it sounds anymore. She just feels that her head is spinning and she dozed off to sleep. *****/////****** "So, how does it go?" Bob, the youngest of the group, asked Adam when he saw him from the kitchen. "I think I already did it. I was able to imprint on her!" He announced and the guys cheered. "Congrats dude!" Phil commented. The other guys are very happy with what Adam just said. He is too since he wasn't able to have a chance to do that five years ago. Eve is very hard to even talk to. Imprinting has to be done when the werewolf can locate their future mate. Adam saw her when he and the guys were waiting for Phil from his university. He was able to pick up his scent of all the girls around him. Right there and then, he knows that he must imprint on her so that it will seal the bond between them. But things happened and he almost missed his chance. If not for the apocalypse, he would have lost her already. She will be married by now and he can't find another mate anymore. He's an alpha and his pack needs to have their healer. Especially now that they are the only creatures that are left on the planet. Adam and the guys are all werewolves. They look out for each other and as their leader, it's his duty to find the alpha mate. But the next thing that he has to do is to tell Eve about it. She also has to know what they are so that she can easily grasp what was happening When the first meteor struck some places, they knew that it's the sign of the vampire's awakening. They are the werewolves' nemesis. If they know about Eve, they will pursue her so they can turn her, the last human to become one of them. But Eve is destined to be with the werewolves now. She is Adams' bride and they have to do anything to protect her against the vamps. Good thing they were able to get here right away. When she passed out from the scene of the apocalypse, Adam was fast to catch her fall. But seeing her crying for her fiance makes him mad. He almost stole her away from him. "It's a close call bro, she almost got married!" Sky told him. They are all sitting down from a long kitchen table as if having a meeting. "We've been watching her for five years!" Chris commented. "Yeah, that was a close call. But now she's here with us." Adam said thankfully.
