Chapter 1 and 2
Mr Adaku and Mrs ugo okafor beamed with joy as they welcomed their daughter, Anika into the world. They had waited for this moment for so long, and finally, their bundle of joy had arrived. As anika grew, she began to assert her personality, expressing herself in ways that amazed her parents. She was curious, adventurous, and full of life.
As she started school, Annie's parents couldn't help but feel a sense of pride. They watched as she made new friends, learned new things, and explored the world around her. But amidst all the joy and excitement, a shadow loomed in the distance.
In the kingdom of umeze, an ancient tradition had been passed down through generations. The king had decreed that every girl, upon turning fifteen, must be married off to a man of the kingdom's choosing. The thought of this sent a chill down Mrs ugo and Mr Adaku spines. They knew that Anika fate was sealed, and that soon, their bright and beautiful daughter would be taken away from them.
"We can't let this happen," Mr Adaku whispered to his wife, his voice trembling with fear. "We have to find a way to protect Anika"
Mr adaku face set in determination. "We will," he said. "We will do whatever it takes to keep our daughter safe."
But as they looked at Annie, laughing and playing with her friends, they knew that time was running out. The king's decree would soon be upon them, and their daughter's fate would be sealed forever.
